QUESTION:
what is the best cash for gold company?-
ANSWER:
Do not do this online- I repeat do not even consider doing this online or by mail.
You will send your gold, then they send you a check.
If you dissagree with the price - too bad - they've already melted your gold.
Clark Howard from CNN.com has an article about this scam.Find a jewelry store or pawn shop locally.
Find 3 of them and get appraisals from each one.
Choose the highest one.

QUESTION:
Best Cash for Gold Services!?
What are some good reputable cash for gold services that I can send some old jewelry to?-
ANSWER:
Well in my opinion you're better off keeping that gold...but if you really really want to part with it I would avoid any of those "Cash4Gold" places. Let's say you have 1oz of gold jewelry and the spot price for 1oz of gold is 0...those gold services would probably pay you around 0-650 for something that's worth 0. They also usually charge some kind of "refining" or "shipping and handling" fee. Your best bet would probably be eBay. There are so many people looking to buy gold on eBay that usually the bids on gold go up to spot price and even above it...just depends on who's looking to buy. Another bet might be to go to your local coin dealer or pawn shop. Most coin dealers will charge a flat rate or percentage below spot price so they can make some profit while you still get a fair price...although with jewelry they may charge a little more since it's less liquid to them. Pawn shops will charge a little bit higher since they are not specialty stores and have a harder time unloading the merchandise. Also you may be able to ask around at some local jewelry shops, some of them buy used jewelry. Hope this helps

QUESTION:
where can I get the best cash for selling my gold jewellery.?-
ANSWER:

-
QUESTION:
What's the best way to sell gold jewlry to raise cash?
I need cash for down payment. I've heard people selling gold by mailing in. Doesn't sound possible to me to send off valuables to an unknown person and get desired outcome, that's why I'm asking here. I haven't seen buyers coming to my area to buy gold, that sort of thing. Your input is much appreciated!-
ANSWER:
You have two options:The first is to shop your valuables around town to local jewelers. You can generally price compare them so that you know you are at least getting a competitive bid. The problem is that most jewelers are simply middlemen to a refiner which means you aren't going to get the absolute most for your items.
The second option is to use a national buyer. I would avoid the suggestion of the poster below who recommended goldintomoney since they are simply a front for Cash4Gold. Cash4Gold has a horrible reputation and doesn't pay anything compared to reputable buyers. See their BBB report here: http://www.seflorida.bbb.org/businessreport.aspx?companyid=16000679
I have had two good experiences with American Gold and Silver. They paid me decent money for the gold and diamond rings I sent them and I was more comfortable with them because they are a subsidiary of a publicly traded company (DGSE Companies, Inc.) Plus their BBB rating is A+: http://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-reviews/gold-silver-and-platinum-dealers/dallas-gold-and-silver-exchange-in-dallas-tx-356
Hope that helps. Good luck on the new home!

QUESTION:
which cash for gold place is best? from experience please, not from what you see on commercials.?
10 pts. up. i wanna sell a 14k bracelet and 14k necklace and jewelery buyers ripped me off on the offer. anyone know of a better place?-
ANSWER:
Consumer reports has some good advice on selling gold:"The Consumer Reports Money Adviser compared what one of the television companies offered for a gold band a couple of years ago with what a local jeweler and an on-line gold buyer would pay, the TV company paid a much lower price. Instead, take your gold to a reputable jeweler in your area for an appraisal. Note the carat of the metal, and ask the jeweler to tell you the weight in pennyweights or troy ounces. Use this online calculator to figure out the value based on the price of gold that day. Then quickly (because prices fluctuate) call several jewelry or coin stores and ask how much they pay for gold. Aim to get about 85 percent of what you calculated it’s worth. "

QUESTION:
How and where do you get the best price for broken gold jewelry?
I have several broken gold chains, bracelets, dental gold, and mismatched earrings and would like to get cash for the gold. I know I could take it to a pawn broker, but I'm not sure if this is the best way to turn the gold into cash. Any ideas?-
ANSWER:
If you choose to sell your gold as scrap, please do not use one of the outfits that advertise on TV--they will not give you the best price because they are marketing their services to the general public and not to in-the-trade individuals who are more knowledgeable.Send your gold to a reputable refiner. There are several who offer refining services to the jewelry, dental, etc. industries and that is where you would get the fairest shake for your scrap.
I've used David H. Fell & Co. in Los Angeles for years. They are a very reputable company with a good history and a well set-up refining service. See the link below.
If you sold your scrap gold to a jeweler, they would turn around and submit it to just such a refiner. A reputable jeweler would not reuse your gold because he would not be able to determine that it was within the legal variance limits of the karat value it was represented/hallmarked as. He would instead turn it into a refiner either for money or on account to be reimbursed with newly refined gold. Obviously, the price the jeweler would pay you would be less than what he received from the refiner.

QUESTION:
Which Cash For Gold Company is the best? What about CashKit?
I found a unique website called www.cashkit4gold.com where they seem to being paying top dollar for all gold and unwanted jewelry. Is now the time to sell? The website cashkit4gold.com states “CashKit4Gold.com will buy all unwanted gold jewelry. Since we only buy scrap gold over the internet, our overhead is very low compared to refineries. Use the CashKit to turn your gold into cash.”

I feel I didn't get the most for the gold I sold to cash for gold by mail. Where the best place to sell my gold and get the most for it?-
ANSWER:
Well, I can say from personal experience that you're probably going to get the best rate by going through http://www.refinity.com/ . Giving cash for gold is what they specialize in. I've got a lot of old cold coins sitting around, and I have been gradually delivering it to Refinity to pick up some extra money for the coming winter season.

QUESTION:
What is my best bet to convert E-Gold to cash now?
A few years ago e-gold was looked like the best currency ever.An investment in e-gold is attached to the value of gold and is actually stored in gold. So if the price of gold goes up after you bought some e-gold, so would the value of your investment. You would no longer have to worry about where the greenback was going.
Trading e-gold in the U.S. is presently halted due to orders of the U.S. Judicial Service in order to exclude money laundering allegations. But I, as an investor, I'd like to get to the funds and use them for active investment elsewhere. I have contacted many sites that used to convert e-gold. Either they have totally discontinued it for the time being or conversion fees will range from 30% to 90% which I find outrageous.
Hence my question: What's my best move to convert E-Gold to cash now?-
ANSWER:
I remember the hype, and I figured they would be wrong because gold is not a currency. The USD is ALWAYS something to have a mental note. It is the currency of choice in the world. As the USD increases in value gold decreases in value.
You will not be able to access the funds until the feds are complete with their investigation.

QUESTION:
Are gold fillings the best replacement for mercury amalgams?
I've had mercury amalgam fillings in my back teeth since I was a child. I'm concerned the metal continues to seep into my system. I've heard porcelain composites don't last in back teeth, but do dentists still use gold fillings if you have the cash for them? And do they prove to be the best fillings?-
ANSWER:
gold is always the best restoration for your mouth. by best i mean that it will last the longest. they are quite a bit more expensive than silver fillings. if it was my mouth i'd get a silver filling. the american medical association just did a huge long term study on them and supported what the ADA has been saying forever....amalgams don't hurt you! stop watching dateline and 20/20. trust me, i'd love for it to come out that you need to have all of your silver fillings taken out and replaced with something else. think of the profit!!! it would be like all of the plastic surgeons in the 80s that removed silicone breast implants and replaced them with saline.

What is the best, liquid place to put a cash?
If you had a small stack of "paper" money, that you were going to 'put under the mattress', what options might be considered? that do not involve having the money in a location where it is "accountable"? Gold? Silver? Platinum? Some Jewels? What is the best "non cash" place to store some secret cash for 5-10 years?
before someone says "in the bank", I am looking for NON bank ideas, I dont want any paper trail.-

Transferring cash into anything other than cash in your hand/pocket/etc. makes it LESS liquid. The measure of liquidity is how fast the money transfers into cash.Cash = cash

Gold ---> find place to sell gold ---> find out amount gold is worth ---> sell gold ---> go to bank and cash the check that you were given for your gold = cash

ANSWER:
Avoid pawn shops and those Ca$h4Gold places. They know exactly what the gold in your jewelry is worth, and they lowball the price. After all, they are out to make a profit, and most people have no idea how much their gold is worth. Your best bet is a private sale, which may mean e-bay or some local variant.Grandpa

QUESTION:
I've got a 1 oz gold coin i'd like to sell. What's the best way to sell it?
I've seen those cash for gold commercials but I know those are garbage, i've seen it done on ebay but i'm not sure about that. I want to find a secure way that will get my the biggest return. Anyone have any ideas?-
ANSWER:
you are absolutely right, there are a ton of scams out there today and it is really hard to tell who is legit and who is not. I've recently been seeing a lot about Empire Gold Buyers, so I decided to try them out and look into their company quite a bit. From what I have seen and personally experienced, they are a great company. They've been around for decades, unlike cash for gold that will certainly go under any time now. Anyway, best thing is to be proactive and know what your gold is worth and what you should get for it. Know what you are talking about when selling and it will be much harder to scam you. good luck

QUESTION:
cash for gold cleveland?
I heard the best place to sell gold in cleveland ohio area is Jewelrycoinexchange.net
Jewelry & Coin Exchange Middleburg Hts
440-239-1824They pay the most I was told. Is this true?
-
ANSWER:
Never sell to the first offer you get. You need to compare deals, and you should get several estimates. And yes, as the previous answer said, if your jewelry is above average quality, try to sell it as jewelry rather than as scrap gold. Jewelers that deal with antique and estate jewelry are the ones most likely to be interest in quality jewelry. C. M. Stephanoff is one such place, but there are probably others.C. M. Stephanoff
850 Euclid Avenue, Suite 317
Cleveland, Ohio 44114
216-861-1005
http://www.cmstephanoff.com/At least, you should get an estimate from them before you sell your gold as scrap.
You might also try to sell it privately. If you have a piece that would sell at retail for 00, a scrap gold dealer might give you 0. An antique jewelry dealer might offer, say 0-0, depending on quality, but a private sale could yield 0 or more. Of course, it is a lot more work to advertise and sell on your own.
Good luck.

QUESTION:
Best Place to Sell Gold Online?
My girlfriend has a bunch of old jewelry laying around that she wants to cash in "to one of those gold sites" as she says. My concern is that I hear that some of these cash for gold places are actually scams and try to rip people off.Do any of you have experience with any sites in particular that we might try out? We are in California but want to ship to the place where we will get the highest dollar value for our materials which is why local pawn shops are out of the question.
After we get some guidance we will send in our materials and let you all know how it goes. Thanks!
-
ANSWER:
Forget it. You will lose big. Take it to three or more jewelry stores, or shops that advertise 'we buy gold and silver'. They need to make money and will pay less than 'spot market' price, but most of them are pretty fair with you. These online places are a joke.

QUESTION:
Has anyone had any experience with the companies that buy your old gold or silver for cash?
I see several advertised on TV. Are they the best way to convert unwanted or broken jewelry into cash, or would a person be better off going to a local business? I recognize the price is tied to the current price of whatever the precious metal is, but what method would give the biggest cut of that price to the owner?-
ANSWER:
Most online gold buyers REFUSE to tell you what they pay per gram for gold. A few will only tell you what they pay for amounts over 10 ounces! 10 ounces is a LOT of gold!
I did a lot of research and found the Silver and Gold Exchange. Not only do they pay much more than anyone else I could find... online or locally, but they also post the prices they pay for every form of gold and silver on their website via a live chart at http://SilverAndGoldExchange.com
Hope this helps.

QUESTION:
where can i exchange my gold jewelry for some cash?
I got some gold jewelry that i dont use anymore and want to get some cash out of it instead of having it sit there, so where can i take it ? a local pawn shop? or where can i get the best return on it?-
ANSWER:
I don’t know what cash4gold will pay. I do know from my past experience, that I sent them a scrap jewelry ring and they paid me .26. I rejected the offer and they returned my ring promptly. I then found another company, http://www.captaincashforgold.com/ that paid me 3 for the same ring!! and they enclosed a track able Fedex pack along with 0 insurance as opposed to some crappy envelope from cash4gold that you cant even track. I really got burned a couple of times using a couple of different cash for gold companies but with http://www.captaincashforgold.com/ I feel I finally found one that I could really trust with my valuables.

QUESTION:
Does anyone trade in thier gold for cash?
Can u tell me which company works best for you? Who do you get the most money from?-
ANSWER:
I've never done it, but according to this article:
http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/SmartSpending/blog/page.aspx?post=1754292You will get more money if you sell your gold stuff at a pawn shop, or a jewelry store, or on eBay, than if you send it into one of those "gold envelope" places that have ads on TV.
Going to a pawn shop or a jewelry store is what I would do - that way if they don't want to pay enough, you can keep your gold and try somewhere else quickly, and not have to worry about mailing it anywhere.

QUESTION:
I have a lot of gold jewellery and am located in Melbourne, Australia. Where is the best place to sell it?
I've had 18ct Gold neck chains and rings for many years but I am short on cash and want to sell them. I want to know if there is anywhere decent in Melbourne I can sell them for a good price. I've been to the gold kiosks in the shopping centres but they only offer around 40% of the current market value, they are a huge rip off. Is there any alternatives to this?-
ANSWER:
haha don't bother with cash converters or the shop kiosks, unless you like getting ripped off.
I shopped around for hours online trying to find the highest bidder for my gold. Half these dodgy companies wouldn't even tell me what price i'd receive for my gold.
I ended up going with www.cashforoldgold.com.auNoone can beat 90% daily spot price and they have their prices advertised on the website.

QUESTION:
Is there a website that compares UK gold merchants?
I need something quick and easy to sell a couple of gold chains.
which is best out of money for gold, gold for cash etc..-
ANSWER:
You can be better informed about what your chains are worth. Look for a "K" symbol on the clasp, or engraved on the chain. The "K" rating tells you what percentage of gold is in the chain, but in 24ths. 24K gold is pure gold, but pure gold is soft, and not often used for chains. You chains are more likely 12K, but take a look at them. The other major factor is weight. Weigh them on a good scale, so you know what you are dealing with.
If you know the "K" rating and the weight, you can calculate how much pure gold is in the chains with only a little effort. Multiply the weight of the chain times the "K" and divide by 24:
W * K / 24 = Gold
What you get is the weight of the pure gold in the chain. You can look up the price of pure gold anytime. The price can change, sometimes rapidly:
http://www.kitco.com/market/euro_charts.html
Use the kilo prices, the ounce they refer to is the troy ounce, which your scale probably does not measure. Multiply the pure gold weight in kilograms times the "spot" price in kilograms, and you have the value of the gold in your chains.
The dealers are aware of the spot price also, and they will offer you less, sometimes much less.
Nobody is likely to offer you more than the spot price. You may do better with a private sale.Grandpa

When I mined coal and sold it at GE it took me about a week to have someone buy it. You can try coal because more ppl want it. Craters want gold but smithers want coal. More ppl are crafters than smithers.
Also gold has more ore around runescape in one place.http://runescape.salmoneus.net/mining_maps.html
The website is for mining maps.
GO TO THE FALADOR MINE. (hint.. hint.. hint)
That's the best answer I have. Hope it helps!

QUESTION:
What is the best way to sell nice jewelry as I would rather have the cash?
It is rings with gold and diamonds, necklaces, gold chains, etc. I am in no hurry and would like to get what I paid for it if possible.-
ANSWER:
It is highly unlikely that you would ever get back what you paid for jewellery - new jewellery will always sell for more than second hand jewellery, just like every other thing out there. The exception will be extremely high quality/rare gems and sometimes being made by a famous jewellery house will increase the reselling price. You may be best to find an "estate jeweller". These jewellers deal in second hand and vintage jewellery. They will be able to give you a price as to what they would take it for and you can decide if you want to sell it or not. Chains etc., that have no gems are often just sold for the gold value - so it will be weighed and a price per gram applied.
Otherwise, try and sell it privately, you could place an advertisement in your local paper or trading/selling journal perhaps?

QUESTION:
What is the best precious metals refiner to use?
I'm in the midwest, and thinking about doing some cash for gold parties. I'm curious where is the best refiner with the quickest turn around time, and pays the highest percentage? Anyone have experience in this?-
ANSWER:
Hey,Great question. Usually to work with a refinery you will need to have large quantities of scrap and many do not work with the public. So that can differ who you do business with.
I work for a refinery (Metallix Refining Inc.) which works with many jewelry mfg's, pawn shops, etc but also we created a new division to work with the public. Its called Metallix Direct Gold and we would love to quote your material. For your convenience we have our price charts and a gold calculator right on our site. You can get an estimate before sending your scrap in. If you have a free moment check out our site!
Good luck & by the way great time to start with the price of Gold reaching 20 per t/o today!
