To sell a gold necklace, you will need to learn the gold selling process. You will be able to get the most amount of money when you use a reliable gold buyer at the time that you sell a gold necklace.
Sell a Gold Necklace
To begin selling your gold items, you will need to locate a gold buyer. This can be accomplished by using an online yellow pages directory or a major search engine. Once you have selected a buyer that you would like to move forward with, you should research their past history in order to see if they are trustworthy.
There are many blogs, forums, cash for gold review sites and social networks that can be visited to view past experiences and ratings. This is vital information that can help eliminate an unworthy gold buyer. You can also speak with family and friends to see what their experience has been with the gold buyer.
Member of the BBB
The Better Business Bureau website is a great tool to use to sell a gold necklace. This agency was created in the early 1900's and gathers detailed information on various types of businesses. You will be able to see if a gold company has unresolved complaints or a bad history. Accredited businesses are a good choice, as they have passed stringent requirements of honesty and integrity.
A satisfaction guarantee is also important. This means that the gold buyer is willing to go above and beyond to make sure that you are happy. It also shows that they have a good track record and high quality service.
Online Gold Buyers
During your search you will find online gold buyers, pawn shops and jewelry stores. You will want to choose an online gold buyer due to their high quotes and fast turnaround. Physical stores require a lot of driving time and offer you less for your gold.
When you sell a gold necklace, you should use a dependable buyer so that you can have the best selling experience.

QUESTION:
What's the best way to sell gold and know we're not getting ripped off?
My grandma called my mom today and told her she has a bunch of old gold jewelry she doesn't want anymore and wants us to sell it to use for our bills and such. How do we know if were getting a good deal or not when selling this gold? Does it go by ounce for jewelry as well?-
ANSWER:
You should be able to get 70% of its value from a reputable jeweler. The value is easy:Gold per ounce = ,400. There are 31 grams per ounce (Troy), so...
Gold per gram = .24 karat = 100% gold.
14 karat = 58% gold.
18 karat = 75% gold.Example: You bring in a 14karat gold necklace that weighs 11 grams. How much is it "worth" and how much should you get?
Worth: 11 grams x gram x 58% = 7
Get: 7 x 70% = 1

What's the best way to sell gold online ?
I live in the UK and I am actually looking to sell some of my gold items(mostly they are 18 carat upto some may be 22 or even 24 carats) like auctioning through web sites like ebay. Does it work, any ideas, or suggestions, if it will offer the better deal.
Thank you-
ANSWER:
Check the Which report on the web site below; you will see that hawking it around jewellery shops is the better option. How would a private buyer know the true value, if buying from eBay, or the like?

QUESTION:
Best way to sell gold jewelry?
I have a lot of gold jewelry, some of which is damaged but suspect that it is worth more melted down than in its current form. Where does one go to sell gold like this without being ripped off? If your advice is to use Cash4Gold, then please don't bother responding.-
ANSWER:
You are never going to get market value for your gold. A lot of people forget that it is a business and there are expenses. About 2% of the gold immediately evaporates upon melting, market price may drop, rent, assay fees, permits, labor, taxes, etc etc. Also market prices are based on 1,000 ounces of bullion (bars, coins etc) on a trading level. If you have one ounce of jewelry, and gold is ,000 a ounce you don't get ,000 for that jewelry. Most jewelry is 14k gold and that is only 58.5% pure gold.
10k- 41.7% Gold
14k- 58.5% Gold
18k- 75% Gold
22k- 91.7% GoldI am a refiner and diamond buyer in Florida, and will give you the information you need to sell your items without getting ripped off.
Gold (Based on todays price of 3/oz)- 10k- gram, 14k- gram, 18k- gram.
Silver- 925/Sterling- a ounce.
This is the absolute least you should get per gram. A lot of place buy it according to pennyweight (DWT) to convert grams to pennyweight just multiply the gram price by 1.55.
I pay around 6% more than the numbers I listed above for 100 grams of gold OR LESS, if you 100-200 grams I pay 10% more than the prices above, 200 grams or more 12% more than the prices above.
I buy from jewelers, dealers, pawn shops, and the public all over the country. If you know the approx weight and karat of the gold I will pay you PRIOR to you shipping your items using paypal. If you dont have a scale I send them to customers FREE OF CHARGE! If that sounds like something you would be interested in doing call me anytime. My number is tollfree. (877) 487-1386. Either way I hope you get a fair price no matter who you sell it too. Just Do YOUR RESEARCH!!!
A few last things. If you have any gold or silver coins or bars (bullion) you should get about 1%-2% below market value if they are pure gold (most are) since they do not need to be melted.
Also now is NOT the time to sell anything but gold, silver or platinum. If you have diamonds (larger than a 1/2ct), or a high end watch, KEEP THEM IT!! Wait until the economy rebounds a little. You would get half of what you would of got 6 months ago for them!!
Hope this helped.

QUESTION:
What's the best way to sell gold jewlry to raise cash?
I need cash for down payment. I've heard people selling gold by mailing in. Doesn't sound possible to me to send off valuables to an unknown person and get desired outcome, that's why I'm asking here. I haven't seen buyers coming to my area to buy gold, that sort of thing. Your input is much appreciated!-
ANSWER:
You have two options:The first is to shop your valuables around town to local jewelers. You can generally price compare them so that you know you are at least getting a competitive bid. The problem is that most jewelers are simply middlemen to a refiner which means you aren't going to get the absolute most for your items.
The second option is to use a national buyer. I would avoid the suggestion of the poster below who recommended goldintomoney since they are simply a front for Cash4Gold. Cash4Gold has a horrible reputation and doesn't pay anything compared to reputable buyers. See their BBB report here: http://www.seflorida.bbb.org/businessreport.aspx?companyid=16000679
I have had two good experiences with American Gold and Silver. They paid me decent money for the gold and diamond rings I sent them and I was more comfortable with them because they are a subsidiary of a publicly traded company (DGSE Companies, Inc.) Plus their BBB rating is A+: http://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-reviews/gold-silver-and-platinum-dealers/dallas-gold-and-silver-exchange-in-dallas-tx-356
Hope that helps. Good luck on the new home!

QUESTION:
what is the best way to sell gold?
I have 14 karat gold jewelry to sell.-
ANSWER:
f you check around, you will probably find that your local coin shop pays better than any of the places you have access to.. A pawn shop will pay perhaps 50% of the value of the gold (They are in business to loan you money, and what you are pawning is collateral for the loan. If you are selling,a pawn shop is not the place to do it.). Jewelers generally pay a little better, but most coin shops will pay 80 - 90% of the value of the gold. Selling by mail is always a terrible idea. Unless you have several ounces of gold, they pay the least of all, plus since you are not dealing in person, you don't have the option of asking questions.Just remember that 14K gold is 14/24 or 58.3% pure gold.

QUESTION:

QUESTION:
What's the best way to sell gold/diamond jewelery for the best value?
My husband upgraded my engagement ring on our last anniversary and we don't have children that I could pass it down to. I would like to get most of what he paid for it back, however I know going to a pawn shop will only get us about half of what he paid. I don't believe that Ebay is worth the hassle. Anyone have any suggestions?
I also have the appraisal that goes with the ring showing the approximate value at the time of purchase.-
ANSWER:
You might shop around at jewelry stores. Some will buy jewelry. Just be careful though because some of them pay you what the pawn shop will...based on the weight of the gold and nothing else. You might also try putting a classified ad in your local newspaper. Only run it for a week and see if you get any takers. That kind of thing probably wouldn't sell well on Ebay because I think most people would want to see that item in person before purchasing.

QUESTION:
Best way to sell a gold watch?
I have a gold watch that was appraised at about 00. It was my mother's, but it has no sentimental value to me and I am not comfortable wearing something so expensive. I am a stay at home mom of 4 kids, I'm sure it would get broken/lost in a heartbeat if I wore it on a daily basis, and what's the point of keeping it for just special occasions? So, I would like to sell it. What would be the best way to sell it so I get the most money for it?-
ANSWER:
Your best bet is to shop it around to jewelers if you get a chance...you can always try ebay or craigslist but its a hassleYou can sell it to a refiner as well. http://www.goldintomoney.com has info on selling scrap gold, but the refiner mentioned on that site has a process for accepting highly valuable jewelry items.

QUESTION:
What is the best way to sell a gold ring?
Gold prices are skyrocketing. I was thinking of selling some heavy gold rings that I no longer where and I need to find out how to get the best price! Thanks-
ANSWER:
Unless you sell to a private buyer you will not get as much as you would probably like... Diamonds can add to the cost, depending on their size and quality... A few years ago it was .00 per point on a diamond... Gold in almost any jewelry store will be bought for maybe 60% of the actual gold weight.... not the total weight of ring. Someone's idea of ebay is good, but if this is a high ticket item you should have it appraised by a jewelery appraiser. People are cautious when they can't actually see the piece... But if you hve papers to back up your statements that might help...Good Luck

What is the Best way to Buy and sell Gold fast?
I just want to know if you can buy gold when it is cheep and then sell it when it is more expensive and make a small profit?-
ANSWER:
Yeah, it is always good to buy Gold when the prices are down and sell it when the price go too high. You can do same at your Local Jewelry Shop, you can also find this at Ebay, but the best way to do it is, Buy Gold when the pricing is low, and sell it to direct websites which buy Gold. I did same but not for profit but to get rid of my debts in this time of recession. I had attached the link to my personal blog in the source box. Checkout my experience.

QUESTION:
How is the best way to sell used gold?
and silver jewelry?-
ANSWER:
There are two ways to dispose of gold and silver jewelry. The first way is to sell them for the precious metal content. Gold is currently flirting with ,400 per troy ounce, and and silver is fluctuating at about / per troy ounce. A 14 karat piece of gold jewelry is 58.5% gold by weight. Sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver by weight. If you are selling your jewelry for its metal content, you take it to a gold or bullion dealer or coin exchange shop. They will take the jewelry and pay you cash for it. Ultimately it will be melted down for the value of the metal.
Remember that the price you get will be less than the mathematical price of the precious metal content, in order to cover the cost of assaying, the cost to the melter, etc. If you are going to sell your jewelry only for its metal weight, don't take it to a jeweler, as you will tend to get a worse price.
The second way to sell jewelry is for its artistic value. Fine pieces of jewelry may have a value that is much greater than the cost of the precious metal alone. In this case, you would want to sell NOT to a gold and silver dealer (who will only pay you for the metal content) but to a *jeweler* who will buy the piece with the intent of reselling it as jewelry.
The best plan of action is to take the jewelry to a jeweler or pawn shop first, and ask them to appraise it independently. Once you have the appraisal value of the jewelry, you will know how to proceed, and who to sell it to: a precious metals dealer, or a jeweler. Be sure to shop around for the best price!
P.S. A "troy ounce" (used in weighing precious metals) is equal to 1.0971 regular (avoirdupois) ounces.

QUESTION:
Best Way to sell 14k Gold rings?
I have just came upon some 14k gold rings which are fairly new, almost like a collection of rings. When i researched the price for gold on some websites i got that i could sell it for around £13 per gram. I have around 100 grams, which is still good money but recently i read a daily mail article about the sites which i was looking at saying that they were HUGE rip offs and were selling for around triple that price. I have also checked some jewellers but they are offering poor amounts of money. Does anyone know the best way to sell these rings successfully?
Thank You-
ANSWER:
Do they have hallmarks as shown on the page listed below? If not, it is illegal to sell them as gold in this country.http://www.britishhallmarkingcouncil.gov.uk/publications/hallmarks2.pdf
Please remember that gold is not weighed in the normal way - one 'Troy Ounce' weighs approx 31 grammes, a normal ounce weighs 28g.

QUESTION:
I've got a 1 oz gold coin i'd like to sell. What's the best way to sell it?
I've seen those cash for gold commercials but I know those are garbage, i've seen it done on ebay but i'm not sure about that. I want to find a secure way that will get my the biggest return. Anyone have any ideas?-
ANSWER:
you are absolutely right, there are a ton of scams out there today and it is really hard to tell who is legit and who is not. I've recently been seeing a lot about Empire Gold Buyers, so I decided to try them out and look into their company quite a bit. From what I have seen and personally experienced, they are a great company. They've been around for decades, unlike cash for gold that will certainly go under any time now. Anyway, best thing is to be proactive and know what your gold is worth and what you should get for it. Know what you are talking about when selling and it will be much harder to scam you. good luck

QUESTION:
The best way to sell a lot of gold?
My wife's grandfather passed away, and because we'd always been kind to him he left the two of us several bars of gold. They weigh in at a little under five pounds total, which makes me feel quite giddy at a time when gold's selling for 00 an ounce. Honestly though neither my wife or I really know how to sell all of this. Most of the local pawn shops seemed to be offering us significantly less than the going rates. I know they need to make a profit, but some of the offers were honestly just insulting. So my question's simple, with a large amount of gold like we have what's the best way to profit from them? There are many, many, many, many, many... companies online that offer to buy gold. But I know nothing of them. I'm looking for advice from people with real experience.
-
ANSWER:
With that much, do NOT go to a pawn shop. Go to a precious metals dealer like Deak Perera. If you don't live in a large city, it might be worth your trip for that much gold. The next best thing would be a coin dealer who also does precious metals.

What is the best way to go about selling gold?
I have some gold I would like to sell during this high time but have never done it and am worried about scams and sharks out there. What method would give me the most money for my gold?
Any and all advice would be appreciated.

ANSWER:
If the gold is worth 10 grand or more it would be risky to walk in the street alone. (I would ask a gold jewelry store that don't rip off people much and tells them you know someone that want to sell gold you tell the person you think how much it's worth. After that bring someone alone with you for safety/witnesses, stay there so the buyer would not steal or ripoff you.

I would be happy to answer your question. you need to provide more details, what type of gold coin, what mint mark, what country. e-bay is good for low value coins but if indeed its in the ,000 range e-bay is not the way to go.talk to a coin dealer. allot of counterfeit coins are on the market so buyers are cautious on high dollar coins.here is a site you can sent your coin to be graded. its not free but will be graded correctly and you will know its genuine.

i have two 23k gold plated mewtwo pokemon cards what is the best way to sell them?
i dont have the stuff to go with them just the card and there not in stores and i would prefer to sell them online
how much do you think there worth together-
ANSWER:
Those cards will be worth a fortune, as a collector's item. So the best way is to put it in auction, where the highest bidder will get them. Just find the best site for that and launch a full fledged description about the cards. Hope it will work.About the price, sorry, no idea. It is not easy to find it, unless someone else, for examples, first hand buyers like yourself, know it personally.

QUESTION:
I would like to sell my silver and gold?
What or where is the best way to sell gold and silver.-
ANSWER:
It depends on what you have. Look for places that deal in similar goods. If you have coins or bars, go to a coin dealer.
Take jewelry to a jeweler. There are huge markups on jewelry, so do not expect anything like what similar items sell for. Consider a consignment shop. If you know ebay, perhaps that is an option.
Don't even consider the mall kiosks or mail-in-gold deals. Very poor prices.

QUESTION:
Where/How to Sell Gold Jewellery?
What is the best way to sell gold jewelery in India or in the US without taking a big discount ? I know that taking them to a shop would mean that you will have to sell it a very low price, but I need a good rate since I need to take care of some loans. It would be great if some one has any clever ideas to tackle this. Thanks-

I would strongly suggest checking out the Silver and Gold Exchange before selling gold or silver to ANYONE. I did a great deal of research, online and offline, and learned a lot about this business. I checked pawn shops, jewelers, "gold parties", hotel "buying events as well as the online buyers, including the "as seen on tv" guys. I found that the Silver and Gold Exchange paid more than anyone else I could find. I liked the fact that they post the prices they pay per gram (beware of the places that quote in pennyweight/DWT) on a live price chart at http://SilverAndGoldExchange.com I also checked out their Better Business Bureau report and found they have never had a single complaint as opposed to HUNDREDS of complaints some other companies have! QUESTION:
how to sell my gold. Any good suggestion?
I have some gold earned all my life and now want to sell it because I need. How is the best way to sell gold?-
ANSWER:
Well It's not easy to explain how you should do this so here is a resume.First you need to have an idea of the worth of your gold. Yo can do this:
Find the gold carat, weight your gold, go to kitco.com and find the daily value.
Depending on gold carat your gold worth different so see the table
24 100%
22 91.7%
18 75%
14 58.3%
12 50%
8 33.3%
6 25%
1 4.2%So if your gold have 18K you must multiply weight x daily price x 0.75 and you have an idea.
Than you can trade it in a local marker. I always recommend local marker I think is safer.
I have learned this from this free book "How and where to sell your gold"

QUESTION:
What is the best way to sell a coin collection?
I have a coin collection with U.S. silver dollars from the 1800s and other rare coins. I also have some gold coins and silver bullion. I'm interested in the best way to maximize the sales price on these assets.-
ANSWER:
First, you need to know what they are worth. I am guessing most of the morgan dollars aren't extremely high grade or rare dates, so most will be worth -15. The others I can't guess because you didn't have much information. The overall best place to sell would be a numismatic auction house. If there isn't a dealer nearby who has auctions for you to consign to, then I would consign to a local auctioneer. I have seen common silver dollars bring WAY too much money at these auctions by people who do not know what the value should be. This only works on inexpensive coins though. For anything worth more than 0, I would try to either consign to a coin dealer auction like I said, or list on Ebay with a reserve price. To decide this, of course, you need to know approximate worth. To do that, take them to a reputable dealer, or find out where the local coin club meets and ask their opinions. One thing coin collectors like to do is look at and talk about coins!

These folks stockpile precious metals, and they are honest. The only problem is the shares are trading at a premium right now. You can wait, if you wish, and the premium may go down, but the price of gold will go higher, so it's your call.

QUESTION:
Best way to sell 40 acres of highly speculative raw land?
How do you sell raw land to mineral exploration companies or speculators? I don't have the time, money, or resources to develop or do the exploration but the area is one of the most productive gold mining areas in the world. Please note, I have not done any testing as yet myself. It's strictly specultaive. Sitting on raw land. What do I do?
Never thought of surveyers or engineers in area. Ebay sounds probable too. Never thought of that. Lots to consider.-
ANSWER:
Contact local real estate professionals, they will probably have a handful of buyers looking for just what you have. Another idea is to contact the local engineers/surveyors, they always know who the developers are in the area. The local municipality would also be able to give you some sort of direction. Good luck!!!

1. It depends on the type of jewelry you are selling. Antique pieces you're better off selling to jewelers and antique dealers. Scrap gold (stuff that's broken or you don't want) you're better off selling to a pawn shop or refiner.2. Yes. White gold is an alloy but it still has gold in it.

Color: ECan anyone tell me, ballpark what a ring like this may be worth? And I'm going to steer clear of Ebay to sell it, I'm just unsure of how to go about it.

ANSWER:
It is a very nice diamond, just being under 1 carat will lower its value. I can not tell you what you can sell it for but I can look up how much the diamond would cost.http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?__fun_frm=i&track=btntext_select&elem=img&pid=LD01069972&filter_id=0
0.93-Carat Round Diamond
This Very Good-cut, E-color, and VS1-clarity diamond comes accompanied by a diamond grading report from the GIAPrice: ,461
The quality of the cut could change the value of the ring. A new gold setting would cost 0.
Best best would trade it in for different jewelery or use the diamond in a different ring or pendant.
