Buying Junk Silver

What Are 90 Silver Coin Bags?

90 Silver coin bags are canvas style cloth bags which contain Washington quarters, Franklin or perhaps Kennedy half-dollars, in addition to Mercury and Roosevelt dimes which were minted in the calendar year 1964 and prior. Those were the times when our U .S . coins were still created from genuine silver (actually 90% silver and also 10% copper.) The term 'junk silver' ended up being coined (no pun intended) during the 1970's for the reason that these 'junkie' coins possessed no collector value at the time. That is certainly not the situation today with these coins getting harder to find!

Types of 90 Silver Coin Bags

The type of junk silver coins most often found in silver bags are the Washington quarters. A usual silver bag will include mixed dates of 1964 or earlier and all of one coin denomination - i.e. all quarters, dimes, or half-dollars. The grade of each coin will vary but generally 95 percent will have dates that will be readable.

Coin dealers will generally sell 90 junk silver bags in face value lots of 00.00, 0.00, 0.00, 0.00, and sometimes even .00 lots. When you invest in a 00.00 bag, for example, you'll be getting 10,000 dimes, 4,000 quarters or 2,000 half dollars! However, the face value of the coins will be 00.00 but will contain 715 ounces of silver, regardless of the denomination of the coins, because of the 90% silver composition of the coins. That means you'll be getting a lot more silver for your money!

How to Determine the Value of Your Junk Silver Coin Bag

Before you march off to sell your 90 silver bag to a coin dealer, you'll need to determine ahead of time, what your bag is worth:

1. First, find out what the current spot price of silver is - I like to use Kitco.

2. Multiply the amount of troy ounces of silver in your bag by the current silver spot price. To figure the silver weight in individual junk coins, I like to use the melt value calculator at SilverMonthly.com

3. If your bag has 715 oz of silver and the spot price of silver is , that would be ,450.

4. Now subtract that amount from the price the dealer is quoting you. Shop around and compare what various dealers (both online and local) are offering. Do your homework and be informed!

5. You need to remember that the price of junk coin bags will follow the spot price of silver. Let's say the price of silver rises ten cents - from .00 an ounce to .10 an ounce. A 00.00 face value bag of 90 junk silver Washington quarters will rise , give or take.

Advantages of Buying 90 Junk Silver Bags

90% junk silver is a wonderful way for first time buyers to invest in silver for the following reasons:

1. 90 junk silver is the most cost-efficient method of buying silver per ounce in bulk. You see, with junk silver, no refining or minting fees are added to the cost of the coin. When you buy a modern silver bullion coin such as the American Silver Eagle, this manufacturing premium is always going to be added to the cost of the coin.

2. Because of their age and circulation, it is only natural for junk silver coins to have lots of wear and tear. But even discounting the scratch marks, nicks, abrasion, worn detail, unrecognizable face, you're still getting 99% of the silver content! That means that the coins will be worth far more than their face value!

3. Another advantage to buying junk bags is that the coins can easily be divided into smaller quantities to use as bartering instruments in an emergency. You can also sell the coins individually, the same way, if you didn't want to sell the entire bag all at once, to take advantage of rising silver prices.

Now that you've learned a little bit about 90 silver coin bags, I think you'll agree that they are a terrific investment. With the price of silver expected to move even higher in the coming year, adding a few to your portfolio will be a prudent and profitable decision!

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Any good places to find or buy junk silver coins?
I'm looking for junk silver in quarters, dimes, and copper pennies. Here's some places I have already and let me know if you have other suggestions, thanks.

    Grocery store change
    Banks
    Laundry mat business
    Coin collectors
    website mint companies

    • ANSWER:
Well, what are you looking to pay, face value or the going rate?

For face value, you can try going through your change or sorting through bank rolls. This isn't going to yield much. With high prices back in the news again like 1980-91, the average person is paying a lot more attention to their change. Sorting of bank rolls has picked up.

Unless you own the laundromat. good luck finding an ignorant owner who doesn't know about silver coins.

As for collectors, they expect to get near 'melt'. Websites charge a premium above 'melt'.

So, what are you willing to pay? I'd be happy to unload my stash of 'junk' silver for an ounce.

  2. QUESTION:
Where Can I buy Junk Silver Cheap?
    Hello,

I am 15 and I am wondering where an I buy Junk Silver Cheap or Wholesale?

    Thanks,

    • ANSWER:
The days of finding " junk" anything are pretty much over....with tough times and plenty of infomation out there ...everyone " knows what they have ".... and any discount will be minimal.

  3. QUESTION:
Where to buy junk silver for less than 00.?
Are there any sites that sell junk silver for less than 00. face value bags?? I have only 0. to spend and would rather not have to surf ebay bidding on several different auctions.

    • ANSWER:
Junk 90% silver is currently trading on eBay for 23 to 25 times face value. 0 is getting you in the area of face value. It won't be in bags.

Apmex will sell you face value in little plastic bags for .65 if you buy 10 or more. You can do better on eBay. The next largest bag they sell is 0 face value.

Kitco.com's smallest bag is 0 face value.

Monex sells only 00 face bags.

  4. QUESTION:
Anyone bought sterling junk silver (mainly jewelry) on eBay?
Just saw some eBay listings for scrap silver, looks like a lot of jewelry on some of these listings, and I was wondering if any of you had had any experience buying scrap silver online on eBay or elsewhere in jewelry form. Coins are a bit easier to identify as the real thing, but I'm curious if any of you have had any experience with any of this. I'd be tempted to buy for the value of the silver:

    http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=scrap+sterling+jewelry

I'm not at all interested in gold just because since it's worth so much more, there'd be a lot more people trying to pass off fakes. :-)

    • ANSWER:
Well, if you are going to buy then make sure the seller has a high feedback rating and has been a member of Ebay for a long time. By the way, if you want to know a way to get money back every time you buy something on Ebay, then send me an email.

  5. QUESTION:
What kind of prices for silver coins are junk prices?
Been buyin silver quarters and half dollars for mainly silver not the rare value. Some tell me only buy if i am getting junk silver prices. What would this be? I have been buyin old coins for basically spot value , maybe a few cents over. Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
You can check current melt value AND current dealer asking prices for junk silver at http://CoinInferno.com

Just scroll down and click on the coin you're interested in. For example, you can scroll way to the bottom and click on Washington Quarter. It says the current melt value is .28, and you can get them from dealers for .19 (right now). So if you are paying more than spot, you're not getting a very good deal.

Remember, junk silver is only 90% pure, and refiners won't buy it for as much as purer silver. Also, since this is an investment, even if you pay even a little more than you should, it comes straight out of your profits.

  6. QUESTION:
why is it better to buy generic/junk silver?
why? i just ordered 2 oz of junk(90% silver coins)/generic silver from apmex

    • ANSWER:
Junk silver has no collector value, so you're not paying a premium for them being "rare" coins--you're paying for just the silver (plus any processing markup the company may have)

  7. QUESTION:
where can i buy junk silver coins?

    • ANSWER:
eBay, Craigslist, estate sales, local auctions.

I'm afraid Bill doesn't know what he's talking about re: eBay. His dealer friend only charges a little over 'spot'? That's nice. Most of the 'junk' lots on eBay sell for less than spot, sometimes as much as an ounce below 'spot', to allow room for the shipping charge, and because most buyers are not willing to take that much of risk by paying 'full price' when the market is so volatile. In the last few weeks silver has gone both up and down a dollar in price in one day.

  8. QUESTION:
Where do junk silver coins come from?
Where do the junk silver coins that can be bought from shops or online come from? How do they find bags of them to sell?

    • ANSWER:
Junk silver coins are just well worn specimens. They came from the mint like all other US coins but they have been well used by people and have little or no collector value. The mint made millions of these coins each year up to 1964. Then when they quit making 90% silver coinage in 1965 people started hoarding the older pieces. As time goes by people started gathering a small bunch here and a small bunch there ... now you have bags you can sell.

  9. QUESTION:
HOW CAN YOU BUY GOLD OR SILVER UNDER SPOT PRICE ?
Yes, I'd really like to to know if it's at all possible to buy precious metals either At or Below spot price. I've been doing allot of research online checking out a whole bunch of different sites the prices very but, none of them or under spot price, I've even read that by buying junk silver you can buy under spot but, nope :( while junk silver is cheaper you're still paying above spot): and I've seen allot of people claiming to know how and they'll teach you but, you have to buy there book or take there course for a fee which is complete B.S.
Can this really be done without taking advantage of anyone ? I would really like to know and I'm sure allot of other people would too so if anyone knows anything Please Help !

    • ANSWER:
Based from my buying experience (I did not include s&h and insurance cost, just the premiums)

Bulk Silver Dollars & Old Gov't issued coins (Morgan Dollar, Peace Dollar, etc.) - ~ over spot
Gov't Minted coins (American Silver Eagles, Maples, Philharmonics, etc) - ~ over spot
      Private Minted Bars & Rounds - $.50 ~ .50 over spot
90% Junk Silver (Pre 1964 coins) - $.25 under spot ~ over spot
      40% Junk Silver (Kennedy Halves 1965-70, Eisenhower dollar 1971-76) - $.50 under spot ~ $.50 over spot
35% Junk Silver (War Nickels 1942-45) - under spot ~ $.25 under spot

Only the nickels from 1942-1945 with 35% silver content sells definitely under spot price in any bullion dealers if they still have them, which I doubt, because these silver are the cheapest so it sells the fastest.

In Gold, there are no one selling below spot price, EVER!

  10. QUESTION:
    buying silver and gold question?
I've been buying silver and gold for a few years now. Bulk us/foreign junk, bars, and some collectible coins that I find interesting. I have a few questions. I check Kitco for my prices. Does the price continue to change in Europe, and on weekends after NY is closed? For example: I'm in Chicago, about 2:00am Sat. looking at Fri close. Will prices be changing in London, and Japan during there business hours? Question #2. I only have about 10oz Gold, but I have about 500oz of silver 1, & 10oz bars. (safe space is becoming an issue). I would like to sell some of the silver, and buy more gold. Is there a math formula to figure the buy, sell to value of each so I'm not screwing myself? I'm not very experienced at any of this. It started as a hobby about 5yrs back, and now that I have seen how much metals have grown I'm more interested. Any help would be great.

    Thank you

  11. QUESTION:
Is now a good time to buy physical silver?
    --------------------------------------

I've been reading a lot about this movement to buy physical silver in order to try and crash JPMorgan. Could this actually be possible? Or is this a scam by people who own silver to try and raise the price and then dump it all? I'm just so damn cynical about everything anymore.

I actually just bought a few troy ounces of junk silver for under market value. I figured what the hell. But is now really a good time to buy silver?

From what I have read- JPMorgan has more silver on paper than actual physical silver on the earth.

    Here is some documentation:
    http://maxkeiser.com/2010/12/04/must-view
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeyrOo_e7e4&feature=related

Is this just a big hype with some hidden agenda? Please give me your perspective.

    --------------------------------------
    --------------------------------------

On a side note, I'd be 100% for having JPMorgan fail along with all the other banksters!

You should also watch this video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5OtB298fHY

    --------------------------------------
    -----------------------

Actually no Bill that didn't help at all. I've already read that, thanks for trying though. Maybe a little more original input wouldn't work better next time.

    -----------------------

    • ANSWER:
It sounds like a pump and dump scam to trick people into buying silver to bring the price higher so they can sell it and profit off people's naivete.

Trying to crash JPMorgan, indeed. That's improbable. Getting people to buy an insanely large amount of silver for the purpose of trying to hurt JPMorgan? People don't buy and sell commodities as a political statement. They do such things to make money.

JPMorgan can handle the potential loss, you can't.

Why would you want that? Putting a large bank out of business like that will bring us into another recession and hurt everyone.

  12. QUESTION:
Was 16 Silver Quarters at 86.00 a good deal?
I bought 16 silver quarters for 86.00 total price and the spot silver price/melt value is ..or was 98.00..Is it a good buy? Watching ebay prices and bidding i rarely see silver/junk silver sell for less than what its worth let alone 10.00 less. All coins look to be in fairly good shape.now worn. Thanks
    all 16 were between 1935-1960
    Like i said 86.00 total price...i paid 81.00 and 5.00 shipping.

    • ANSWER:
You didn't mention if the price included shipping. The price you paid is reasonable but not great. You can never sell coins at melt value. There are too many middlemen taking a percentage. The spot price for silver coins is for a 00 bag face value. If you hold onto the coins for long enough, you will make a profit.

  13. QUESTION:
    Hyperinflation how should I prepare?
Should I buy junk silver because I can't afford gold? What else should I do?

    • ANSWER:
      Obvious answer, buy gold!

Anyone can afford gold, just by smaller quantities.

I cant remember what it was called, but there is a reputable company in the US that sells fixed small amounts of gold, sealed in a credit card, with a barcode, serial number and hologram etc to preserve authenticity etc. You can buy them from as small as a gram to as much as 50g, which I'm sure will fit your budget.

Dont forget to prepare for the civil unrest that comes with hyperinflation.

Building up large supplies of food water, fuel and clothing etc is a great idea.

If in the US, exercise your RKBA and buy yourself a gun to protect yourself and your loved ones.

  14. QUESTION:
    silver coins question?
i wanted to melt some 90% silver coins, but then was told i would end up with a lump of junk silver, silver and would be hard to sell, and it has more face value...etc.

i want to invest in silver but don't have much money to invest and don't want to get in the stock market right now which is why i wanted to melt the coins and sell the silver and continue from there.

my question is would it be a good idea to sell the coins to a dealer and buy .999 silver bars with the money from the coins?

do you think the price of silver will be increasing or decreasing?

and do banks still give half dollars if asked? so if i were to go and withdraw some money from my account would they give me kennedy half dollars if i asked or do they not give those coins anymore.

    • ANSWER:
      bad idea to melt coins.

Also a bad idea to sell or buy anything from a dealer; they make their money by scamming people who don't understand the markets into paying to high a price and selling to for too low (they make the difference, of course).

the historical ratio of silver:gold is 12:1. It is currently 65:1 so unless gold goes to 0/oz its a very good idea to buy silver.

banks dont give [FAQ-ANSWER].50 pieces. At least they don't have to and I doubt they would if you asked. Besides they are not an investment, no one buys them for their silver.

That said you have 2 options:
      1) buy stocks. I know you say you don't want to but if you buy SLV it tracks just the price of silver. Nothing else. So the only risk is if silver goes down in price. I would STRONGLY suggest this route.
      2) buy physical silver. Either a bar or old coins. This requires a significant investment (K+) usually though, which is why I recommend the former, you can do stocks with only 0. Also when you sell your silver coins you will pay art tax on the sales price (30%!!!) so it takes alot just to break even.

  15. QUESTION:
Why China is about to buy a lot more silver and gold?
It is encouraging it's citizens to invest in Silver and Gold...
What happens if they stop buying our junk bonds?
The government is promoting silver bullion as an investment for regular citizens. And remember, a bunch of Chinese students laughed at U.S. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner this year when he claimed the dollar was safe. The Chinese know the value of real assets – real money like gold and silver.
So what is really going on and why are we not hearing about any of this?

  16. QUESTION:
Is the American government and the American dollar about to collapse?
I'm not interested in bashing the GOP or Obama (at the moment.) I just wonder if this could be happening. I am reading Liberation, a speculative novel by Slattery, and it's spooky in it's accuracy.
Our economy is in the toilet, the Asian markets, heavily invested in the US, are questioning the validity of the the American dollar, unemployment is rising...will there come a day when no one answers if you call 911?
Should I buy junk silver and a 3 month supply of food and water? Place barbed wire around the perimeter of the condo and buy an assault rifle? Move to Montana? Or should I seek the services of a professional therapist?
I'm half serious. Could the dollar collapse, and then what happens?

    • ANSWER:
You're safer than you think. Even if the dollar's value begins to drop quickly, the US will not turn into a lawless wasteland. Even during the great depression, which was worse than this recession, the US didn't collapse into an every-man-for-himself land full of roaming bandits. Check out other first world countries which have gone through serious depressions with out-of-control inflation. People still went to work, etc.

A worst case scenario would wind up with a radical far-left or far-right movement taking over, rather than complete societal collapse.

  17. QUESTION:
I need help buying jewelery for my girlfriend! I'd appreciate any suggestions?
I'm going to buy my GF a promise pendant before we both go back to college. I'm looking to get something sterling silver but I've never bought a girl jewelry before. She's kind of high maintanance so I don't want to buy junk.

    Here's what I'm thinking

    • ANSWER:
Its very pretty, but when buying jewelry you need to remember a few points; her figure, if she's a larger than life sort of girl, a fine chain like that might not suit her. in this case go for a bracelet, something chunky like a charm bracelet is ideal. If she's slight, keep the jewelry fine and feminine, thin chains and small pendants.
Next think about her complexion, if she's tanned or dark skinned gold will often look better than silver, whereas on a pale complexion, eg naturally fair gold often compliments the skin tone.
Lastly, what other jewelry dos she wear, if you want the present to be worn lot, it will need to compliment any favorite item of jewelry she wears normally.
      Hope that helps =)

  18. QUESTION:
Does sterling silver rust/make the skin go green?
I want to buy a sterling silver ring........ Just wouldn't purchase if it may rust etc just like junk jewellery does out of the high street. Thanks!
So what metal do they use for the junk jewellery sort in the likes of Topshop..... That rust and go all funny???

Thanks for your answers, they helped :D

    • ANSWER:
sterling silver DOESN'T turn your finger green, only fake silver rings would do that. all sterling silver rings are usualy really nice quality :)

  19. QUESTION:
Can anyone give me advice on how to tell if a ring is Real Silver?
If it is stamped 925 is it quality silver?
What if it gets a tarnished look where it touches the skin and
    discolors the skin?
I bought it from a Vendor in Mexico (Cozumel) in a store. It was after the bartering was done. I trusted this little store in a open-aire mall and maybe I got junk.
How can I tell? Can Anyone stamp these numbers on a ring?
    Thanks

    • ANSWER:
.925 is the standard sliver marking, which means it's nearly 93% silver.
The thing with silver is that the skin oils act as a natural silver polish, so it should not tarnish when you wear, it should get shinier.
If the ring is turning colours on you, then my guess is that it isn't quite .925, or you are allergic to the alloy they use.

      Hope this helps.

  20. QUESTION:
how to calculate silver content in war nickels?
I've got about 35 war nickels I bought from a coin shop to add to my junk silver collection. I know I got a fair price but I am trying to figure out the amount of silver in troy ounces. I know that they're 35% silver and a nickel weighs 5 grams. So would I calculate .05x.35x(number of nickels). I don't want the melt value, just the amount of ounces. Like how a silver dime you multiply .0715x amount. Thank you all;.

    • ANSWER:
There are 31.1034768 grams per troy ounce, so a US silver war nickel contains {(0.35*5)/31.1034768}=0.05626 troy ounces of silver which is currently worth just over US per coin.

  21. QUESTION:
What should I get my boyfriend for his 20th birthday?
Alright, so we have been dating for over a year. His last birthday, I filled his apartment with balloons for a balloon scavenger hunt, and just got him a t-shirt for my college. (We had been dating for almost 4 months.) For Christmas, we had been dating 6 months and I got him tickets to Blue Man Group. Boy did he love that! We went to Universal Studios for the day (since we have passes) then went to dinner, and then to the show. For Valentine's Day I got him an Onyx/Sterling Silver ring. For our 1 year anniversary I made him a book of our love story and he loved it. (We agreed to make presents for our anniversary instead of buying junk.)

Anyway, his birthday is coming up towards the end of September and I am at a loss! I don't want to buy him just any old thing, ya know? He is going to be 20. He likes dragons, swords and weapons, music (we were in band together in High School, he is studying Recording Arts in college), Magic (the card game), video games of all sorts... he's just a typical guy. I need to leave in a few minutes, but any ideas would be great! Thanks. I was thinking about getting the ring engraved, because I was going to do that on Valentine's Day but thought it was a little much. I always said I'd get it done at a later point in time. Other ideas?

    • ANSWER:
      Its pretty simple really.
      1) The government is corrupt. No answer there.
      2) The Media, in general, is not out to report the news. They are there to entertain us. As another Answerer stated in one of my questions, the media has dumbed down the news because the public has become too entertainment minded to focus on real news stories for any length of time. Its like we are an ADD nation.
      3) I'm not trying to be overly optimistic here, just factual. China can make mistakes. They are also one nation that was "looking to America" to see how best to resolve their own economic crisis. That should tell you somehting right there. They could be on spot and we could be sinking even faster than we thought. They could also be playing it safe.

I have to applaud you for even looking for details and trying to dig up what is happening in our country. Many, many Americans are still asleep. Unfortunately, it may take total collapse for them to even glance in the direction of Congress.

  23. QUESTION:
What coins should I buy for my collection?
I'm 25 years old, and recently I decided that I needed a hobby. So I came up with the idea to start a coin collection. I've been buying U.S. Silver Dollar Eagles (some slabbed some not), old Morgan Dollars, and 90% pre 1964 silver coins (junk silver).

I've been going to all of the local coin shops trying to find a dealer that I can trust. Well, today I went to a coin shop that I had never been to before. He gave free appraisals, so I decided to stop in to see what he thought of my collection so far. I explained to him that I was relatively new at this. Upon looking at my coins, he said that I had been overcharged because basically all of my coins were only worth melt value. It was very discouraging.

My question is; what coins should I buy in order to have a collection that I can be proud of? a collection that will hold it's value? A collection that one day will be profitable?

Should I only buy slabbed coins? which ones? What silver coins should I buy? what gold coins should I buy? He said that I didn't have any "special" coins? what did that mean?

Here is what I have managed to buy in one month:
    slabbed 1986 Silver Eagle MS69
    2008 Silver Eagle
    1oz silver bullion bar

    • ANSWER:
The dealer you talked too was right. Morgan dollars in the grades you have really don't have collector value. You need to slow down and look around and see what you like or that will hold your interest, for you don't have a collection but an accumulation. These days a set of cents is out, due to the cost of the 1909-S VDB. I have 2 nice sets of Mercury dimes but they were put together years ago before the 1916-D became so expensive. I do not know how much you have to spend but for investment there are the key and semi key coins of all the series. For fun and knowledge there are world coins and ancient coins. Ancients and world coins if the right ones are also an investment. I devide the coin hobby up to investors they could care less about the coins just the profit, coin collectors who have some goal but mainly fill the holes in albums and last but not least numismatists, they collect coins but know the history about them as well as do research on them either for more info or on varities. Try putting together a nice 20th century type set of U.S. coins in the highest grade you can aford. There is only so much space here and numismatics is a vast subject. Hope this helps.

  24. QUESTION:
What is wrong with todays children? They move back home expecting everything on a silver platter + free......
My 27 yr old daughter and 22 yr old daughter moved back into our home with the oldest having 5 children. They refuse to pay bills and barely buy food. One is on aid for 450$ month food program and only contributed 0 in junk food this month. It is hard to kick them out especially the one with the children. Then they'll use your phone to talk bad aboout you to your freind, neighbors and co-workers! I have told them my mother is moving in and now they are planning to leave even though it is a lie.......

    • ANSWER:
oh I know! I have two adult brothers who had been living off me and doing the same thing, wasting all their money going to bars and taking women out on fancy dates, then coming home to eat my food, watch my cable and mess up my house all day. I kicked them out and at that point they began to officially hate my guts. They won't even speak to me. After supporting one of them for over 3 years, he won't even say hello to me now. The more you help, when you finally cut them off the more they hate you. I am convinced they have to hate you to begin with, they just hide it to get something.
When I kicked my brothers out they both moved in with my poor old mother! I told her not to take them in but she's so soft hearted.
She had an aneurysm and had brain surgery, so she gets confused. THey are taking all her money. I want to scream! It makes me so mad. One of my brothers is 38 years old and the other one is 32. These are grown men. They are sapping her dry, and she just piddles around cleaning up after them all day while they suck her money dry.
Seriously if you find a solution share it with me. I want to save my poor mom.

oh and to get rid of them, I got a different place and sold the house out from under them while they were still in it and the new owner had them removed. I couldnt deal with the fighting any more and I didn't want to break my mothers heart by ending up taking my brothers to court or callign the cops on them but they wouldnt leave when I asked. Its just sad. Now my mom is in the pickle I was in.

  25. QUESTION:
What do I store my coins in?
I have no coin worth more than and want to keep coin storage cheap. I don't consider myself an avid fan of the hobby. I have no mint or uncirculated coins. I have around 150 coins total so I can't go buy 100 quarter holders. I also need to know a safe website to find PVC-free holders. I want to pass this collection on to my kids with exception of some of the junk silver.

What kind of storage do I need and where online can I get it?

    • ANSWER:
The two most inexpensive options are commonly called 2x2's and flips, and you should be able to find them at a hobby shop or a local coin dealer. You might also want a box to hold them in. If you are not interested in viewing the coins, you might consider hard plastic coin tubes. There are several websites to find them online. I hope that helps.

    • ANSWER:

  29. QUESTION:
925 silver is turning my finger green!!?
First let me state this was no cheappo ring. I purchased it at Saks 5th Avenue, after taxes I paid almost 00. so, please curb the urge to flame about buying cheap jewelry...

So anyway, I got it, wore it one evening out with my husband, get home and I got the green ring. the silver on the inside looks all yuck. I cleaned it and it is fine now, However it seems I am stuck with this high priced hunk of junk. Saks will not take it back because I wore it and used the cleaning cloth that came with it.

I was under the impression silver wouldn't do that to my finger. It is stamped as it should be with 925 and the makers mark. Or am I mistaken?
Not plated...they don't stamp plated jewlery

    • ANSWER:
Well its usually its copper that does that to your skin. So you might want to research the Metallic Elements that have gone into the ring, because it might not be pure Silver. In which case you have legal rights to sue the selling company for fraud!

  30. QUESTION:
    Silver bracelet turning wrist black?
Was sold a bracelet and as told it was genuine silver. He even rubbed it against a cloth to show it turned the cloth black, apparently meaning it was genuine). Well i didn't care really the guy was nice and it was cheap,(bought in Taiwan). Now its leaving black mark on my wrist. Is this real or junk?

    • ANSWER:
Go down to a store and buy some silver cleaner. That should take care of that problem. The acid on your body is causing the silver to turn black. Just clean it. That's why most people get sterling silver.

  31. QUESTION:
Am I being silly feeling upset about a best friend selling a gift?
My best friend (since gradeschool and through our adult life) had a garage sale this weekend. I kind of dropped in as a surprise to say hi and I noticed the sterling silver bracelet I bought her as a maid of honor gift was for sale along with all her other junk jewelry she was selling. You know, like the 50 cents pile.

I picked it up, told her she should polish this so it looks better and she commented that she forgot her silver polishing cloth.

I put it back down and didn’t say a word.

I know she had her old bridesmaid dress for sale – but that is not a big deal AT ALL. I totally expect people to get rid of those since they can’t ever be used or worn again, plus they purchased it themselves. But have to admit, I was a little hurt to see that bracelet in the sale pile. I mean, it doesn’t take up much space and I always hang on to those for sentimental reasons, even if I will never wear them. Just really took me aback and I haven’t said anything to her about it.

Am I wrong to feel hurt about this? Should I say something? I don't know if it actually sold or not.

    • ANSWER:
you have the right to feel that way.. but from an outsider looking in here's my take.. the bracelet is purely a material possession, it in no way can signify what she feels about your friendship.. don't be hurt or offended just let it go.. don't let material things define a relationship, given on a special occasion or not..

What antibiotic do I need for strep throat?
I already have ER bills from when I had bronchitic and from when I had tonsillitis...I am trying hard to avoid another bill. I already know for sure that I have strep throat so I do not need to be diagnosed...I just need to know what antibiotic I will need to buy. I have been taking Tylanol Cold&flu, throat spray, cough drops, Tussin DM (for my cough)...the razor sharp throat pain is going away...I just want this gone promptly.
I want to just get the junk I need, but need a prescription to buy it. To get a prescription, (I don't have medical insurance and I'm too broke to just go for a check up) I would need to go to the emergency room, but I am trying to avoid that...just need to know... if anyone's had it, what did you have to get? Please, any help would be AMAZING.

p.s. If nothing else, then when I get paid Monday, I'll be buying Colloidal Silver and Garlic pills...as they help. Thanks!~!~
Thanks to everybody who has answered. Looks like it's another ER bill for me. >_< I hope my boyfriend never gets strep throat. He's allergic to penicillin and arythromycin (I'm sure I butchered that word).

    • ANSWER:
The drug of choice for treating Strep pyogenes is a penicillin. Erythromycin if youre penicillin allergic. In the US you'll need a prescription to get this treatment, its not OTC.

    What is PLATINUM PP???
I was looking at a ring on ebay and it says that its platinum pp, is this like sterling silver covered in a platinum coating? Just wondering, dont want to buy a junk ring and wanted the truth?? Please help!

    • ANSWER:
There is only one seller on eBay that uses this PP designation, and it seems to be something he made up. This page shows how platinum jewelry is marked: http://jewelry.about.com/od/platinumjewelry/a/platinum_faq.htm.

However, he does describe the ring as being rhodium-plated (rhodium is one of the six platinum metals). Rhodium is a shiny and relatively hard metal. It should keep its shine and wear well.

  36. QUESTION:
    Have any reliable jewelry sites?
I'm looking to buy a silver ring as a christmas gift for someone, but I really don't know where to look so I don't get a fake ring that'll turn your finger green and all that stuff. I don't want to buy something that's marketed as being great and then find out it's a piece of junk.

So I'm looking for people that have bought jewelry online before, if they could give me some sites they use that they've gotten reliable, genuine stuff from, that they know they can trust. I really don't want to get screwed over.

Thanks for any information you guys can give me, I really appreciate it.
I'd like something with gemstones, and like, be able to personalize it and put names on the ring, maybe an inscription on the inside band.

    • ANSWER:
That's really hard to answer without knowing what type of sterling silver ring you're looking for... like a solid band, something with gemstones or CZ or a diamond. If you can post more information about what style or look you're going for, I might be able to edit my answer and help out.

With that said, if you're concerned about who you're buying from and you're looking for a basic style of ring (nothing artsy), I would try a big box store's website. From simple Overstock.com (surprise! they're reliable and have designer jewelry), to JC Penney (who knew). If you want something artsy looking, I suggest etsy.com. You'll be able to tell what rings are hand crafted and which seem like they were purchased from a supplier.

Is this airsoft gun any good?
Hey everyone, I was just wondering whether this airsoft was a quality gun or not because I don't want to buy another piece of junk :P
    http://www.amazon.com/M945S-Airsoft-Spring-Loaded-Silver/dp/B00389KDGG/ref=pd_rhf_p_t_2
I mean I really liked the color and style of the gun, very authentic looking, but it's just the quality I am worried about. If anyone could assist me in this matter, it would be much appreciated :D

    • ANSWER:
well first that looks like an amazing gun considering that's spring. it has a small ammo cap, but the thing about spring pistols are you kinda are screwed if you miss. i only use my pistol if im out of ammo in my other guns and somebody is charging me.if that happens with a spring you may not get the chance to cock the gun. if this is for backyard fights its good. but if its for official games, get a desert eagle blowback

  38. QUESTION:
1988 Dodge lancer front wheel drive?
I bought that to junk around in for 100 dollars, but my friend mess up some how and ran into a fence, and now the axle up front on the driver side came out. the rings that hold the cv joint in place are missing so i tried, i (forgot what you call them) but their the bigger silver type rings that you adjust with a screw driver and they held but the axle came out again. So what Do i have to do to get it back in place, it's a 100 dollar car so i don't really want to spend any money.

    • ANSWER:
it just uses a c ring to hold it in place with ,the thing is though the c-ring may have came loose in the transmission,if it didn't you can easily replace that part of it and the axles will stay in the transmission, the rings cost like a buck a piece,so its not going to break you to buy one of those, and most parts stores wil have them in stock, good luck.

  39. QUESTION:
Should I buy a mac / macbook pro now or wait?
I am thinking of buying a macbook pro. i have had this in mind for some time. but i am worried that some software (especially burning software) will not work. also, there are so many programs to clear cookies / internet junk and i have never found one for mac. registry cleaners are hard to find as well for the mac. and yes, i like to keep my computer clean.

i desperately need a new laptop as my old one's screen is broken. idk if i should wait till the summer though when that college offer or other offers open. i am most likely getting the pro. is now a good time to buy one? when do u think they will update them?

another quick thing - i am not too crazy bout the new mac pro design. it looks kinda PCish. i always preferred the silver / aluminiun old model.. think it'll come back?

    thanks for all the help!

    • ANSWER:
"there are so many programs to clear cookies / internet junk and i have never found one for mac. registry cleaners are hard to find as well"

Cookies are cleared using your browser, and there are several excellent ones for Macs. As for programs to clear internet junk, the fact you're having trouble finding any should tell you something: You don't need them on a Mac. And there's no registry in OSX.

As someone else noted, viruses that target Macs have been virtually non-existent. The only good reasons to bother having an anti-virus program on a Mac are: (1) if you run Windows on it, in which case all the Windows anti-virus programs will work fine; (2) to protect your Windows-using friends if you make a habit of forwarding junk email to them. See http://www.pcworld.com/article/151971/mac_security_focus_antivirus.html for a recent review.

It's also true, as I believe the same person noted, that OSX 10.6 (Snow Leopard) is due soon. 1st quarter of 2009 is the latest word. It's up to you whether that's reason enough to wait.

Otherwise, the only reason you might hold off is if you're looking at the 17" MacBook Pro. It didn't get all the improvements the 15" did in the last round, but probably will next time, whenever that may be. On the other hand, it's still available with a matte screen if you prefer -- the 15" is glossy-only now.

If you're hoping *any* styling Apple's discarded will "come back," you're apt to be disappointed. I can't think of any cases where they've done this in the past.

As for the availability of crackware, which someone raised -- well, if you're the sort of person who cares about such things, you can continue on with it by running Windows, using Apple's (free) Boot Camp or other programs that support dual/multi-boot systems on Macs.

  41. QUESTION:
ceiling, window, box, or standing fan? what's your flavor?
I LOVE THE POWER OF THE FAN. i love them for many reasons, the top ones being white noise and temperature control.

Here's my input on all the fans I've had experience with:

    ~Ceiling~
    comes with the house!
Pros: I feel like they actually circulate the air in the entire room and it's fun to stare at them. it's even more fun to play with the strings or to make it stop with some kind of object.
Cons: Extremely inconvenient when you want to do drugs in a powder form. Not loud enough for white noise for sleeping time. Also depending on the fan, sometimes the little strings that hang down clink over and over again and i want to slit my wrists.

    ~Window~
i'm talking about the little double fans that are super light you can easily move in and out of the window...you have to slide the window someone to make it fit. they are okay...
Pros: nice for easy portability, but I could really just stick a regular box fan in the window and do the trick ten times better. not a big fan at all.
Cons: I actually get semi depressed when I see one...

    ~Box~
    probably my favorite ♥
Pros: You can move them easily. Stick them in a window to make the room more cool...turn it towards me if i'm hot. Perfect white noise for sleep or if i'm alone and it's too quiet.
Cons: so much dirt gets trapped in it i feel like i'm just blowing bacteria all over me.

    ~Standing~
probably next in line after box
Pros: adjustable height usually, better than the box fan b/c no matter what angle I'm at, the standing fan's got me...the box fan i might have to prop up on a chair or something. They turn back and forth and blow all over. Sometimes I think they just look cool.
Cons: usually not as loud as a box fan. They end up getting junk trapped in them too...after a while they start to make weird noises.sometimes I might like that it's blowing on me one minute and not the next and then it might become aggravating....

    ~Industrial~
i'm talking about those huge silver fans from schools days that sat on the floor but had to be propped up by that other metal part of the fan. I am considering buying one of these for my apartment
    Pros: LOUD!!! STRONG!! oh yah!
cons: extreme dirt/dust trapping. might be a little bit overkill for a studio apartment...

I HAVE TO BUY A NEW FAN THIS WEEK AND IM JUST TRYING TO DECIDE!!!!!!!
i can't buy a ceiling fan and i'm not interested in a window fan.

I'm buying one fan for sure...but by the end of the year I want 3 more.

2 for the main room and 2 more for the sleeping room.

What's great about it: The only thing I can say was good about it was the bright and clear display

"I had this computer for 13 months and it crashed. I had installed the best anti-virus software possible and was careful but still that didn't help. It was obvious when I first got the computer (as a gift) that it was meant for a very limited use. If you just want it for the internet it might do the job but everything else was a chore to get to."

    • ANSWER:
160 mb hard drive is pretty bad nowadays.

However it seems like someone made an error on that page, as I looked it up and that laptop has 160 Gb, not 160 mbs. Which is an ok size nowadays.

Feds Arrest the Liberty Dollar Competition
Posted by Lew Rockwell at June 5, 2009 08:57 AM

The FBI has arrested Bernard von Nothaus and three associates for minting and selling one-ounce silver medallions called the Liberty Dollar, and describing them as money. This operation was first disrupted during the Ron Paul presidential campaign, and that was no coincidence, since they were minting Ron Paul copper, silver, and gold medallions, and that was the subject of much MSM publicity. But here is the DOJ press release about the current arrests, and the 13-page indictment.

As the press release puts it, all four defendants are charged with "conspiracy and other charges in connection with an alleged unlawful operation to publish, possess and sell for profit, coins in resemblance and similitude to U.S. coins. All four defendants are also charged in the alleged conspiracy with uttering and passing, and attempting to utter and pass, a coin of silver in resemblance of genuine coins of the United States in the denominations of five dollars and greater, and intended for use as current money."

Oh sure, we are likely to mistake an ounce of silver for the tin junk uttered and passed by the US Mint. The actual charge the feds care about is at the end, that the Liberty Dollar is "intended for use as current money," in direct competition with the state. Should someone be allowed to mint whatever he wants, charge whatever he wants, and try to pass it as money? Of course, so long as no fraud is involved (fraud being a government monopoly). So it is an outrage that these four people have been arrested for non-crimes, and will be tried in a federal kangaroo court, where they will not be allowed to mention the Constitution or many other things, and perhaps be put in cages for years when they are pronounced "guilty."

Free the Liberty Dollar Four and all political prisoners!

    --

Why shouldn't we be able to buy and sell in tangible commodities, when the Federal Reserve has a legal monopoly on our currency and is devaluing it via endlessly printing? Shouldn't we have measures available to protect our wealth? Or is keeping us dependent on the tanking dollar more important to the political class?
Lordpercy, but it's ok for the Fed to counterfeit and steal our savings through inflation?

    • ANSWER:
Yes we should. But the central banks have a stranglehold on the U.S. government and have essentially hijacked it so that their currency is the ONLY currency.

  46. QUESTION:
    My child’s health - Am I overreacting?
*The first few sentences are just to inform everyone of the situation and a few other minor details so that you can more accurately answer the question

I have a two year old who eats very healthy food. As a matter of fact if you place raw vegetables and fruit in front of her, she will always eat the vegetables first. It's actually very unusual for a child her age. Anyways, I just finished up four years in the Marine Corps and had to move my family in with my parents until I start getting my GI bill money to finish up my last two years of my BS. Ever since we've moved in, my mother has been feeding my daughter nothing but junk. Just so you know that I'm not exaggerating, I kept track of what my mother has given her in the last three days.

    Day 1:

    1 Reese's jumbo cup
    2 chocolate pudding cups
    1 Snickers bar
    1 cheeseburger happy meal
    1 brownie
    4 chocolate chip cookies

    Day 2

    1 small glass of Pepsi
    1 Three Muskateer Bar
    1 Snickers
    1 chocolate pudding cup
    2 chocolate chip cookies
    1 brownie
    1 bowl of ice cream

    Day 3

    1 cheeseburger happy meal
1 Long John Silver’s kids meal
    1 bag of M&M's
    1 bowl of ice cream
    4 chocolate chip cookies
    2 small glasses of Pepsi

The worst part of this is that the stuff I listed above is just what I had noticed without even trying. Who knows what else my mother has given her while I wasn't around.

Not only has the food been horrible, the timing has been just as bad. My daughter is still having trouble dealing with the time zone change from Pacific to Eastern, so she goes to bed around 11 pm EST. Anyways, the pudding and ice cream that I listed was given to my daughter around 10 pm. I told my mother that I don't want her eating that crap so late at night, and that it will cause her to develop bad eating habits. My mother just said, "Oh, it's just pudding. Pudding is a dairy product so it's healthy." I mentioned that ice cream is a dairy product as well, and it's really unhealthy. She replied with, "Oh it is not. Ice cream is healthy too. Anything with dairy is healthy." I started getting quite mad, so I walked out and didn't argue.

I was home on leave quite a while ago. I was back from Iraq and visiting family and my mother wanted to go get ice cream. So my wife and I went with her. My mother insisted on buying my daughter her own ice cream cone but I said, "No, a ten month old baby doesn't need her own entire ice cream cone. She can lick off of mine or my wife's." This caused an entire scene at the ice cream shop and nobody ended up getting any and me and my mother didn't talk - not even on holidays/birthdays- until about a week before I moved in with them.

The biggest problem I have with my mother feeding my daughter crap is the health issues and the fact that it will ruin her good eating habits that my wife and I have taught her. Already she will refuse to eat her vegetables that she used to love - which reminds me of another incident. My daughter was eating dinner, and wouldn't touch her veggies so my mother said, "Oh, are you done eating? Here, have a 'treat'." The treat was three mini Hershey bars. My wife said, "No, she can't have that until she eats her dinner." So my mom goes against what my wife said, and says to my daughter, "take one more bite and you can have some candy."

So before I cause a huge scene and hurt my mother's feelings, I want to know - Am I overreacting? My wife and I think something needs to be done, but since the last confrontation was so severe, I want to get some more input and possibly advice on how to handle the situation. I honestly don't know what else to do other than to start being a complete a** hole about the situation because politely saying "I don't want her eating that" doesn't seem to work.

Thanks in advance, also sorry this was so long.
I forgot to mention that the candy/soda/junk listed above is in addition to her snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Trust me, as a 26 year old man the last thing I wanted to do was move my family into my parents house. As hard as it is to find a job here in MI, I had to do it so that we could get on our feet again as a family. Transitioning out of the military is rough, especially when you have two other people to worry about.

Thanks for all the answers so soon!

    • ANSWER:
As a grandparent whose grandchild is living in the same household, I can see how easy it is to instinctively want to feed them. I don't always agree with what my daughter wants to feed her son - she's vegetarian and I'm not - but I respect her wishes and only feed him meat with her permission. It's not always easy to be the grandparent. But what your mother is doing is completely wrong. She is WAY overstepping her bounds.

I think for the sake of your child's health and to discourage your mother from taking over even more, you should give her an ultimatum. Either she lets you make the decisions about parenting your child, or you will move out. Or , if that will cause a big rift between you, skip the ultimatum and don't explain; just move out. I know you said you're waiting for your G.I. bill, but you may want to reconsider. If this is really important to you, find a way to move out sooner. Enroll in school and apply for immediate financial aid. As a student with dependents, you're eligible for grants that will cover most of your tuition and some living expenses until you get the G.I. established. You may be eligible for a child care grant to cover a sitter while you go to classes. You didn't say what your wife does, but she might be able to work part time or get her own financial aid for college. I would at least check into it.

  48. QUESTION:
what do these dreams mean...?! their crazy!?
so let me try to recall my dreams i have had the past, 2 weeks

one was me and this guy i have liked forever and ever his name is Matt S. and i dreamed that i was in my kitchen and he came through my kitchen door and he got his phone on my table in the living room, and he almost hugged

another one was a different guy, Jake, were best friends i kinda like him but he doesnt know, and he was sittingg in my chair at my office room in my house and i sitting on the floor in front of him, and he pulled my head back rubbing my head all over his junk...when i woke up i seriously thought that happened. it was so real like i could really..feel it..haha

    next was last night
i was at the mall for my moms birthday and we were exchanging things and buying stuff for her birthday which is...this tuesday!!
and she lost her little makeup bag looking thing on a counter filled with money and keys and stuff :/

next was long long long time ago,
and i was in front of my school talking to Matts guy friend who hates me and i hate him, and the next thing that happened or i remembered was a really wide as a can worm came out of my mouth and landed on the ground! ew

this dream was a week ago,
i was sitting in a cafe place with my gal friend, and i was asking for directions from this guy and he said he would drive 8 miles and we would switch. and my car was a silver acura lol and he drove but then night time came and we didnt switch off, and he pulled over by the highway and took off running cause the police were behind us, and the police came up to me and said he is wanted or something! ugh scary

    like...what do dreams mean?
i ALWAYS have dreams about Matt.
but some or most of them are really weird!

    • ANSWER:
ok as a dream interpreter i will start off telling you that ALL dreams mean nothing! Dreams just express you or your emotions, they express what you feel and what you do in real life. thats why they feel so real. Dreams cannot create people, places and things thats another reason why they feel so real! dreams recall past memory, -for example if you see a person you don't recognize in dreams, you probably saw him before on TV or walking in the street (you probably didn't pay attention to them). Dreams express your emotions and thoughts in a negative wa

Nothing. The dream was about nothing. dreams mean nothing they just express your emotions and feelings in a symbolic way.

Dreams are simple synapses in your brain firing off all sorts of things. Your brain gathers all this random information, sights, sounds and so forth. And as you are sleeping, these sights and essentially memories are jumbled up into one big mess, just random nonsense, and your brain works and works for an hour or so trying to create a nice little story with all of these sights and sounds because it wants to make sense of it. It wants to make sense out of nonsense! So, then you end up with this dream. This happens several times in one night but when you wake up, you forget all of them, and when you do remember one of them, when you do remember at least one dream, we try to make sense of it. We tell ourselves, what is this? What could it mean. When in reality, it means nothing, it is just complete nonsense. So stop trying to make sense of it, it is nothing!

  49. QUESTION:
Why is Pennsylvania still allowed to be a state?
There is a mountain of evidence as to why they should just close it all off, burn the entire state to the ground, and execute all of it's residents, and start over.

    - You shouldn't have to pay approximately to travel on a Turnpike that has speed zones of 45-50mph in some places.
    - The police only ever pull over non-PA residents.
    - Too many rednecks outside of the 3 major cities of Harrisburg/Philly/Pittsburgh.
    - One word: Amish.
    - It's too damn easy for the underage to purchase tobacco and alcohol, and the police do nothing to regulate/correct the issue.
    - Too many fields with unkempt roads and sharp turns.
    - It's shaped like a rectangle: clearly a Wyoming and/or Colorado wannabe.
    - New York dumps it's crap into New Jersey; New Jersey dumps it's crap into Delaware; and the final result, Delaware dumps it's crap into Pennsylvania.
    - It's primarily Democrats, who all think the government should hand them a ritzy lifestyle on a silver platter.
    - THE DRIVERS. No one moves over to let you merge, which is textbook courteous driving. Everyone speeds (see the one about cops not caring and only enforcing it on visitors).
    - "Township" everything. Township is a stupid thing to put on the name of your city/town. The witchcraft trials ended 400 years ago, it's time to pick up the speed.
    - They intentionally run you through two-horse towns like Breezewood so you buy all of their overpriced junk (Mountain Dew: .95) before you get on a highway with only one exit every 35 miles.
    - Too many mountains with sharp exit ramps/turns.

Seriously, with all this evidence, I don't see why President Obama shouldn't sign executive orders to demolish Pennsylvania and start new. Plus, Pennsylvania sounds stupid. Name it something cooler, like Orbit. Or Nom'd. (North of Maryland).

    • ANSWER:
Robert E. Lee and the Confederate Army took a shot at doing exactly what you suggest in 1863. It's didn't work out well for him and no one has had the guts to try it again since. But you are welcome to give it a shot if you think it's the right thing to do.

  50. QUESTION:
Is now a good time to get into stocks?
I recently came in to possession of about 50K.

Interest rates are laughable, EE bonds (was my conservative choice until..) the goverment screwed the float rate to a fixed rate so now at this time would be a sucker move to lock in crap rates for 20 years.

Looking at stocks now but any suggestions as for timing in/any companies in particular at a significant discount?

I was looking at name brand big guys who are in the sewer right now and looking at the charts are at least 50% off the price for the past few years (GM,GE,BAC) in addition to some drug companies (theravance in particular).

I was think about putting 1/3 into staple stocks (Industries which are well in any economy like tobacco, alcohol, pharmaceuticals) so Altria group and the like.

Another 1/3 split into several of the big potentially dead name branders (dividends are very impressive and the price should they recover on some of these guys is insane)

With the last partI would like to have into the futures of oil and possibly silver.

My question is do you think it is possible for yet another meltdown- not 15% but another cut in half scenario. Also how are OIL etf's traded/what is a good etf to cover the sum of oil as futures seem a bit too much expense wise and complication wise. I don't understand the commodity trade as well as I should but wish to invest in the price as a whole rather than output from a particular locale/grade.

Basically I want paper oil w/o cherry picking the fine points so much like looking for a bond fund without going and buying up treasury, municipals and junks.

    • ANSWER:
      Yes, BUT --

Not with your current plan. Diversification is key! Don't try to outperform the market -- just try to match overall market gains.

Also -- only invest in stocks if you're going to leave the money alone for at least 5 years. Don't be a trader -- be an investor.

      Now, if I got 50k, I would:

      - Talk to an accountant or at least estimate my tax liability and save that much in a money market account.

      - Pay off high-rate debt (student loan for me)

      - Split the remaining money in thirds and invest it in these mutual funds:
      1. Vanguard 500 index (VFINX)
      2. Vanguard international value (VTRIX)
      3. Vanguard longterm corporate bond (VWESX)
