     I would return it, even though diamonds are a girls best friend lol, but they're expensive diamonds and they're not mine. I've often been given back too much money when doing groceries and I've always given it back as far as I know. It's like I'm being tested over and over, a couple of months ago I found a purse and brought it to the cops (there was a passport in it). My friend wanted to keep it and she was angry with me, only for an hour haha

     The Pawn shop! In all states they have one, if there isn't one in your state, that'd be weird. You can give them your gold/diamonds and they give you you're money and put it in their shop so other people can buy it! Also, you can give them anything else and they'll exchange it for money. For example, my local Pawn shop has everything from lawn mowers to TV sets to game systems! It's cool, but for most Pawn Shops, you have to be at least 18 to exchange your item for cash:P

     No, they're ripping people off by exploiting fears of a global economic meltdown. Keep your shinies for yourself. Or, if you really want to sell them, then sell them to a company that doesn't ask you to mail your goods to them before they'll pay you.

   I live near philadelphia so anywhere around there. I have heard of pawn shops but I have never tried to do anything like this before. Even if I wanted to sell my jewelry over the internet, I would have no idea any information buyers might ask including the weight and carot.

     Some jewellery shops will buy second hand jewellery - either to melt down/reuse if they also design, or to resell if the jewellery is in good condition.

     Your best bet is to go around and ask in different places as their offers will widely greatly. If they are thinking about buying then they will usually offer you a lot less than its cost value. It is defiantly worth looking around. (More expensive areas will often pay more money for good jewellery because they can sell it on for more).

     Even if you do not get any good offers they might be able to give you any idea of the carat, etc.

     I'm afraid my knowledge of pawn shops is non-existant however!

     Go to the pawn shop, you'll get the same deal but at least they pay you cash right away. "Cash for Gold" pays pennies on the dollar. You are better off keeping your jewelry.

     In the situation i am now with the reduction of the 12-15% in my monthly payment check from January of 2010 and the 2 big loans i pay for my apartment and car i would definitely sell them but this is just me!
     What i know for a fact is that either if i would sell them or keep them and insurance them in a bank, i would hire a lawyer who i trust 100% to fill all the contracts for me with the lowest possible share like 4% let's say Lol

     Do not take your ring to a pawn shop. They will usually pay 1/10 to 1/5 of the value.

     If you need cash fast I would suggest someone who deals with estate jewelry. Estate jewelry is not necessarily older or antique jewelry, just jewelry that has been pre owned. You might also see about selling it on Craigslist, but if you do, agree to meet any potential buyer someplace safe in a public area, preferably a bank.

     You could also see about selling it on consignment with a jeweler. Generally, when I have sold estate jewelry for a client I usually ask about half of the appraisal value, with the client getting 75% of the sale price.

    I've heard both yes and no. I've heard yes because they are getting the money up front. I've heard no because they don't make anything on financing.

      a small business pays a huge percentage to credit card companies when a customer charges their purchase.. so if you are talking about paying cash as opposed to using your credit card, then you can usually get a better price when dealing with a small business..

      as far as cash verses in house financing, I am not sure but I am willing to be the financing fees are massive.. so overall still a better pice if you include the cost of financing..

      when you use action replay for ds, you have to check mark the setting, and then tap that star thingy. it should say something like "press L and Up". when you start playing your game, do that, and it should work.

      Expect exactly half of what the appraisal value is.
      When you buy a ring it usually appraises at twice the value immediately.
      When I got married, I had my ring appraised.
      It appraised for exactly double; they do this for insurance purposes.

    It is rings with gold and diamonds, necklaces, gold chains, etc. I am in no hurry and would like to get what I paid for it if possible.

    • ANSWER:
      It is highly unlikely that you would ever get back what you paid for jewellery - new jewellery will always sell for more than second hand jewellery, just like every other thing out there. The exception will be extremely high quality/rare gems and sometimes being made by a famous jewellery house will increase the reselling price.

      You may be best to find an "estate jeweller". These jewellers deal in second hand and vintage jewellery. They will be able to give you a price as to what they would take it for and you can decide if you want to sell it or not. Chains etc., that have no gems are often just sold for the gold value - so it will be weighed and a price per gram applied.

      Otherwise, try and sell it privately, you could place an advertisement in your local paper or trading/selling journal perhaps?

      I know why you're asking this, you're not sure whether or not to give it away! Ask yourself, "will I ever wear this again?" or "Would Grandma want this for her birthday this year?" before you decide that you want to sell it. But if you do decide pendants are for elders I'd say a few hundred dollars but not something drastic like 1,000. I may be totally wrong but I hope this helps!!!!

      I don’t know what cash4gold will pay. I do know from my past experience, that I sent them a scrap jewelry ring and they paid me .26. I rejected the offer and they returned my ring promptly. I then found another company, http://www.captaincashforgold.com/ that paid me 3 for the same ring!! and they enclosed a track able Fedex pack along with 0 insurance as opposed to some crappy envelope from cash4gold that you cant even track.       I know a lot of jewelers will run promos, especially now that it's getting close to holidays. You can prolly find a place that won't charge interest for a year or so...that's what they did to my husband. You may be able to work out a deal if you purchase your wedding bands at the same place also.

    This is providing they dont have any other problems with you know.. killing dogs. As far as I've seen, everyone says use Nutro or Science Diet to stay relatively cheap. The most I can tell from this is that Diamond Naturals is the best. (at least for large breeds). Nutro Large breed has corn as one of the first ingredients, and science diet has a bunch of crap in it too. Most feed stores tell me to stay away from it and I can see why upon looking at the back of it. (again, at least for large breeds) If I dont want to spend the cash on california naturals, diamond is great, is what they say. So why is the best ingredient based food (diamond naturals) is only .00 for a 40 pound bag? Is it because the defective food a while back? And is that why they put 151 point inspection on their bags now?

      Any pet food that is a name brand is probably bad. Read the ingredient label. if it contains: corn, wheat, wheat gluten, soy, rice, or any other grain, do NOT feed this to your dog. It's junk. Dogs are obligate carnivores. A Raw or BARF (bones and raw food) diet is best. If you don't have the resources or time, then a premium, human-grade, grain free diet is better...

      I feed my dog Nature's Variety, Raw Instinct Grain Free and Canidae. He also gets a can of Wellness Grain-free 95% canned food once a week. I also feed raw as a supplement.

      Question: would you feed your human child donuts and McDonald's happy meals twice a day for the rest of their life? Probably not. This would be comparable to feeding your dog Pedigree, Science Diet, Alpo, etc. These brands are horrible. Look at their ingredient label.

      Also- you'd be surprised what's considered "meat" in these products... did you know that the pet food companies use dead aniamls from zoos, pounds/shelters, roadkill, dead livestock, etc.... it's horrifying.

      Cash4gold does not explain in their advertisements how much they pay per ounce for gold. My impression is that they do not pay well, but this is difficult to prove.

      I would recommend going to three jewelry stores or pawn shops and getting prices quotes from them for your jewelry. Tell them you are shopping around so that they know they have to give you a fair price.

I upgraded from Platinum to Black Diamond a few months back after loosing almost 00 to my Diamond sponsor. I am doing allot better at Black Diamond.     Can I sell a loose diamond for its appraised value? Or its purchase price? If so, where and/or how? Because I just bought a diamond from a place where I can't return it and I found a better diamond that I like much better. I'm trying to find an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I sent it to "Cash for Diamonds USA" but they gave me a check for WAY less than what I bought it for. I still have time to get my diamond back from them.

      Most likely you cannot. The resale market for diamonds is not going to get you what you paid for this diamond. Always check the return policy BEFORE you buy the diamond. That is really shame that you cannot return the diamond – is it a special cut? Is it certified? Which certification does it hold? This will determine where you might try to resell the diamond. ‘Cash for Diamonds USA’ will probably not give you a premium value for the diamond. You may want to try Ebay or Craigslist or http://www.diamondbistro.com. These other avenues may give you a higher price.

    I dreamed of my ex fiance and the engagement ring?
    So my ex fiance and I broke up a while ago, we dated for 4 years. And apparently the engagement ring that he got me was stolen. And Noo, I didn't lose it, I know for a fact that it was stolen. Anyways he doesn't know about the ring because he never asked for it back. So it's been quite a while now that we've been broken up and I've been having dreams about him and I getting back and things being good. And then lastnite for the first time I had a dream about my ex fiance again but this time the ring that was lost in real life, I got it back! In the dream my ex fiance wanted to work things out with me and then later on in the dream someone who took the ring gave it back to me, and the funny thing was that when the ring was given back to me the diamond was missing?? And on top of that they handed me cash also?? So apparently the person who took the ring must of taken the diamond out and sold it. Otherwise they wouldn't had given me the ring without the diamond and cash also! Idk,.. what does this mean???

      I am going to tell you what happen to me in a Dream!
      I lived in a Mobile home & some thing really bad happened
      to me in it! I moved out & to a different state all together; about seven
      years I dreamed that it burnt down, it was so really I could smell
      Smoke, I was trying to dial 911 in my Dream but could not remember
      the number! Well when I woke up I could still smell the smoke, so real.
      That was Sunday at 3:00 am I looked all around & did not find anything.
      So on Monday I called my mom she was in the same state
      that my Mobile home WAS! I told her about what happened, & she
      just laugh at me;saying you & your Dreams; Okay Thursday's paper
      was in & Guess what MOM called me to tell me that the Mobile Home I
      lived in BURN DOWN TO THE GROUND! So dreams to come true;
      allot of mine do! Oh it was at the same time too! Still have the paper!

47. QUESTION:
    Brides?...My boyfriend says because he's in grad school, he can't afford an engagement ring...?
    The plan is marriage, a family, home, etc. We've been together for years and currently live together. My boyfriend says that he can't afford an engagement ring until he finishes grad school and has a job - which looks like 2 years until that all happens.
    I'm in my 30s and getting tired of celebrating everyone Else's weddings, kids, new homes, etc.
    My family gave us a family diamond to cash in towards an engagement ring, but he hasn't gotten that appraised yet.
    I want the commitment, which I think the ring symbolizes - and I don't want something from Target.
    I don't want to wait for years to get the ball rolling.
    My boyfriend can't give me a time line when he could afford a ring and I'm getting impatient as time keeps passing. He says he has the same life goals as me (with me) but I feel like if I were in his shoes, I'd take out a loan for a ring, or at least get the diamond from my family appraised.
    I'm sure my family would even loan him money for a ring if he asked...ugh, frustrated.
    I could use advice from someone who's been there...and no, this is not some gold digger thing

      Oh boy, I know how you feel.

      It sucks when you go to everyone's weddings and nothing for you!

      In your case, I believe what he says: he is in school and once he gets a job he will buy you a ring. Trust me, I completly understand where you are coming from and I know how one can get discouraged and loose faith. It is not like you have a long time to continue to think about it. It is time.

      My idea is for you to have "the" conversation with him. Tell him that you ahve the same goals and aspirations, already have a home etc. and that is time to make it official. Tell him that you do not wish to wait another two years before getting engaged and that you would like to get engaged sooner than that. Tell him to think about it and let you have a response by X date. He has had plenty of time to think and he should be fair to you and give you a reasonable time table. Get the diamonds appraised yourself and give him the information; do not rely on a guy to do anything, get involved.

      Also, consider this: pride. I'm sure he doesn't want hand me downs from your family. He knows that you are worth more and he wants to give you what you deserve and not some half a s$ crap. Men need to feel that thay are providers before proposing... that is how men think. My husband did not propose to me until he had his financial goals met and that had nothing to do with the love that we have... all men are like that. They worry about the finances.

      I'd agree with kevin, it seems like it would be much less of a hassle to just sell the gift cert. Even if you bought something jewelry is heavily marked up so selling it will not bring in the full amount you paid for it, so why not take out that middle step and just sell the gift cert on ebay or craigslist for 10-15% off what the face value is.

49. QUESTION:
    How can I prove to child support Office?
    I'm preparing to leave my boyfriend of 7 yrs,he owns a jewelry shop,we have 3 girls together he tells me if I leave hes not gonna pay child support and I can't get money from him because he works for cash, rarely he will except a check.He has a couple of business accounts & checking accounts he keeps stacks of cash in his safe.We don't share bank accounts so I don't know his balances but I do know about the cash and diamonds in his safe.For income tax he only reports the checks not cash,so he falls into low income.How can I prove to child support he makes over the amount he claims on his income tax?

      You can certainly report him to the tax man or if you can report your thoughts to the CSA who will instigate an investigation.

      Not forgetting though, if he gets caught then he is likely to go to prison and that will totally screw up your chances of getting anything at all.
