In Esquire magazine's regular aWhat I've Learneda section, heiress, celebutante and overall media princess Paris Hilton hands out a few nuggets of wisdom. It's not surprising that someone as saturated in the limelight can have some pretty out-there ideas about herself. Nonetheless, anything that comes out of Paris's pink, puckered mouth is very amusing to us regular folk, at the very least.
Here are just a few excerpts from the section:
aThere are definitely a lot of misconceptions about me out there. 'Oh, she doesn't work. She doesn't do anything. She just gets money from her family.' That's not true at all. I was up making phone calls at seven in the morning, and I'll be working until 1:00 A.M.a
aI was the oldest granddaughter. Everyone was so excited that I was born; they would always take pictures of me. My grandma would call me Marilyn Monroe or Grace Kelly. Ever since I was little, it's what I knew I wanted to do--be a blond icon.a
aOnce I've worn a dress, I can never wear it again. I give them to charities and they auction them off to help people with breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, and AIDS. Some that are really, really special, I keep in storage for my daughters. They'll be vintage by then. I think my daughters will love them.a
aThe best thing I've ever bought with money is my house. I call it my Paris Palace. It's beautiful. Every room has beautiful crystal chandeliers and amazing moldings from Italy. When people come over they say, 'Hey, this looks just like you.'a
aBecause of my last name and the way I look, some people think I'm a spoiled brat. But I'm not like that at all. I'm one of the most down-to-earth people I know out of anyone in Hollywood.a
aThings may seem to naturally come my way. But I work hard for them, too. I have good karma.a
aYou may not be able to be hot when you're seventy-five in a conventional sense. Like, young people won't think you're hot. But your husband will, and so will people your own age.a

QUESTION:
Lots of Fishy Questions?
I have a Cobra Guppy, and I can't tell if he is infertile, because I put him with one female, to avoid overstocking, and she nipped at him. Can females identify an infertile male? How can you tell if a cultivated guppy is infertile? I want to make more Cobras.I saw a Gold Nugget Pleco for sale at a pet store for around , and 6" Clown Loaches for . Why were they so expensive?
Are Gold Endler's Livebearers rare? I saw some available and was thinking of buying some for a pop.
Is there a fine leaved plant that isn't so fragile, and won't clog up my filter, and die all the time?
Is it necessary for Tetras to be in the same specific species, because I want to add one Cardinal to two Glowlights and six Neons.
I see a lot of different prices for aquariums, usually averaging around .50 - .00 per gallon. Is there a rule of thumb to figure out the size of aquarium related to price? Also, when does Petco have their one dollar one gallon sale?
Thanks.

ANSWER:
Wow, what a list of questions! I'll give it my best shot.Your best bet with the guppy is to offer him access to multiple females. That way he can find a receptive one. Without trying you cannot tell if a guppy is infertile.
The reason you saw expensive fish is: stores will charge whatever price they can get for something. In many places these fish not usually marked this high. i can get a Gold Nugget for and a larger clown loach for -. But, if in your area people will pay, then the store will charge.
Gold Endlers aren't rare, they just aren't seen in every local fish store yet.
Hmmm...a fine leaved plant. How about cabomba, java fern lace....
Your tetras don't HAVE to be the same, but they will be happier in groups.
I'm not sure about your prices or Petco sales.
Good luck! Hope I helped with most of them anyway.

QUESTION:
Metal Detecting Gold?
Does anybody know if it's possible to Metal Detect Gold in the UK? I was looking at reviews at a Minelab Metal Detector, the GPX4000 and people are finding tons of gold nuggets in Alaska, USA and Australia. But I haven't heard of anything in the UK even though the model above is officially for Sale in the UK and it's geared up for only detecting Gold!I would love to get one but it seems pointless if there isn't any gold to be found in the UK.
HELP!!!
-
ANSWER:
There IS gold to be found, judging by the gold mines in Cornwall and Wales, and the traces found in Derbyshire fluorite mines. Also, at one point the World Gold Panning Championships were held somewhere in Scotland. Check geological maps and surveys for likely spots, but be warned that you're not likely to find huge nuggets of native gold: small flecks and gold dust are more likely.Occasional hordes containing gold turn up from time to time as well, usually found by people with metal detectors and a stroke of luck. Often dating from the Dark Ages and tending to be collections of coins, rings, brooches, and other pieces of jewellery, these finds must be reported to the relevant authorities if they're of any size beyond a couple of coins. They tend to end up in museums, but whoever found them does get paid for their find. There was a find a couple of years ago of a Saxon sword with gold wire work on the remains of the hilt, and a more recent discovery of a sealed cup full of coins.

QUESTION:
Why so stingy?? Its really not fair, should i just steal it?
By the way, I'm using my boyfriend's account, I'm a girl
You know at like macy's where they have the perfume counters?
Well you can perfectly see the little sample perfume vials in boxes behind the counter. And when I asked a couple of the ladies there if they had any perfume samples I could try they said I can spray the testers on the cards but I said no the vials, and they said no we don't have any. When I could see them in the box behind them??!!!!Do you think they keep them for themselves? Or they're not allowed to take them home?
What if a guy asks for them? Do you think my boyfriend would have better luck?Does anyone here work in perfume sections? Why do the sales assosiates always do that?! Its like, the company send them out to be samples not nuggets of gold.
God damn I'm so mad because I hate looking like a fool when I ask for a few.My friend suggested getting my own perfume vials and just filling them with the testers?
-
ANSWER:
Don't steal it. Its wrong, first off and you will definitely be seen at a department store like that.Secondly, how old are you? If you look too young to afford a 50 or 60 dollar perfume, they probably lied to keep from wasting their time.
You might want to take into consideration that maybe those vials were for a different purpose and they aren't allowed to give them out like that for samples.
