Gold chains are awesome addition to your outfit because anyone can use them with a charm pendant as well as without it. Gold chains can be worn all the time or you can choose to wear them when you would like to add an exclusive look to your clothing.
Gold chains are not necessarily a standard and they have to correspond to a particular style. There are several choices of gold chains that are in great demand all over the world. Among those gold chains are cuban link chains, wheat chain necklaces, snake chains and rope chain necklaces to name a few. But I should say that, italian crafted gold chains are usually higher rated by the great gold chains lovers across the world.
Cuban link design:
Cuban style chains are commonly produced from white or yellow gold using special models and are loved by most men and women everywhere for their exclusive look.
Wheat style chains:
Such gold chains are manufactured similar to the shape of the grains of wheat and consist of several metals such as gold, silver or rhodium in order to correspond to the personal requirements. There is a certain group of jewelry fans who prefer to wear this kind of chains more often.
Snake style chains:
The typical design pattern for this category of gold chains looks like the sleekness of snakes that are usually made from all available metals including stainless steel based on the specific demand by the buyers.
Gold chains can be perfect as presents for your friends or family members. Gold chains will add an exclusive look no matter where you are at work, party or business meeting. Unlike women there are only few styles of necklaces preferred by men. The great thing is that you do not need to be familiar with the names of the chains in order to select one as a gift. Just look at the different styles and choose one in your price range that you like and that you think the recipient will like.
Very few items are important to a real lady. A gorgeous gold chain can be just a little attribute which will turn plain clothes into gorgeous apparel. There are no rules on how you can wear gold chains: you can layer several of them or stick with one only.. It is always being in style for men to wear gold chains, both neck chains and bracelets. Almost any woman would appreciate a gold chain as a gift, however, if you are getting him a gold chains for a gift you should rather find out which ones he likes.
Before you buy any of the gold chains make sure that the style will match that person. It can be that a thinner necklace together with a small diamond may be suitable for one person. Heavy chain necklace might be a perfect fit for a big aggressive guy. This will have to do with the build, style and taste of the individual in mind. Gold chains are sold in various colors - white, yellow and others. It's considered that 14 karat gold jewelry are more durable and thus better than 22k or 24k gold products.

QUESTION:
My man buys gold jewelry off people on the internet, and most are females
Ok so my man that i have been with for about 2 and a half years and am currently pregnant by, buys gold jewelry off people on different internet sites, and most are female. I hate it because most of the females screen names are like little hottie, or hot sous, or something like that, then he gets there numbers and addresses and meets up with them and buys there gold....now normally i do go with him, so i know he isnt cheating on me or anything like that, but it realllly bothers me, and ive tried to tell him so many times before, and he is like you dont want us to make any money, and yours so insecure.....im starting to beleave him......its just i dont know i cant get over how pissed off it makes me....and then when he is done getting the gold, there numbers and addresses seem to pop up everywhere....i hate it ....do you think im being dumb?-
ANSWER:
The price of gold has risen considerably over the last few years, and it may well rise a lot more, so your man may be onto something. I've been considering buying and selling gold too, and as far as I can tell, women are much more likely to own gold jewelry. In tough economic times, they might be willing to sell gold jewelry in order to make the next house payment. He is wise to meet them and see the jewelry before he buys it, it's very hard to tell what you are getting otherwise. As far as numbers and addresses popping up, that's another issue. If he pays them fairly for their jewelry, I would think that should be the end of it. I suppose they might sell it off a little at a time, which would make for repeat customers. Mrs. Guy is not particularly worried about me, we have been married 34 years, and I'm still crazy about her.
I know he lets you go with him, but does he let you help in the business? You could make appointments, keep the books, you would know what is going on. Do you have any specific reason to distrust him?

How to buy gold ring with a small (any) diamond in it.?
The astrologer told me to wear a gold ring with a small (any) diamond in it. I never bought any jewelry in my life. This is first experience. I don't know how much it would cost. How will I identify if it is natural diamond. I want to have at least 22 carat gold. Please help me how I should best buy the ring."-

depending on the size and quality of the diamond and the weight of the ring, it will cost from around $ 200 upwards. You can go into a jeweler's shop and try online. QUESTION:
Is it legal to take gold jewelry I buy in the US and pawn it in SE Asia?
Maybe it's a fluke but I found they offered me more than I bought it for my jewelry in Philippines, sometimes 1/2 more, depending on the deal I got for it in the original purchase. But I was too scared to go through with the transactions because there might be tariffs or I might have to declare it as income or pay taxes or who knows what and I didn't want to bother. How can I do it legally, if at all, for next time I visit?-
ANSWER:
If it's your personal jewelry (or small amounts) it's legal. But if you move large amounts of gold into SE Asia it might be considered smuggling. You should find out what is the allowable weight you can bring into SE Asia without the need for a license.

QUESTION:
Where to find good quality gold with reasonable price in Jeddah?
I've heard Saudi Arabia have high quality gold jewelry.
I want to buy gold jewelry for gift. Where is gold souk in Jeddah that have high quality gold with cheap or reasonable price? How much the market price for 24 karat gold in Jeddah nowadays?
Shukran...
I stay at a compound on Madinah Road. But my office is near Al-Mahmal building in Al-Balad.
It's highly appreciated if you can name a shop or gold souk close to Al-Mahmal.-
ANSWER:
Ok here is the 411 on gold shopping in Saudi. No price is set, except in the big shopping malls. You need to go to the area that has the most gold shops in one area. Go into a couple of shops, take a look around and ask what the going rate per ounce is. Last time I was shopping it was about 65 riyals per ounce. Remember, 18 k and Italian gold is going to be the most expensive. 24k is soft so if you buy a bangle or a thin banded ring it is going to be very bendable. Easily damaged. If there are any stones in the jewelry, don't buy 24k. They fall out. Stones are never a great buy in Saudi. Quality is not great and if you resell the pieces, they don't include them in the cost. Once you've gone to at least 4 shops, looked around and found what you want, NEVER take the first price they give you. Always look ready to walk out, and give them a look like, "NOT!". Make them think you kind of like the piece, even if you really love it. Usually these shops are family owned and the owner is in the shop. He can bring the price down, his second or even third price is as low as he'll go. The more you buy, the more willing they are to go lower. Stay away from the gold shops which also carry designer watches. They tend to be more expensive and less willing to bargain. Have fun!

QUESTION:
buying gold jewellery?
hi,i wanna buy a bracelet from one of these asian jewellers where nothing is priced.
I want to go there and buy the strong yellow coloured gold that you get from the middle east or asia. Also I want it to be 22ct and many hight street jewellers don't have this level of purity or the colour i'm looking for (so I don't have much option)
Before I head to the shop I have armed myself with the current gold price at £28 per gramm. i'd assume this relates to 24ct. The bracelet I want to but is 22ct so it is a bit stronger.
anyone advise what sort of price i can sepect to pay for say 10 gramm bracelet. How much is normally added for the making of the jewellry?
thanks
Thanks, I'm pleased with the comments. I stopped at one of the stores today and looked at some of their stock. On speaking with one of the guys who told me that the price was £35 a gramm including the cost of labour. I thought that was quite reasonable but nothing really caught my eye. I asked him if that was his best price and he said yes. On leaving the store I said that i'd call back when I had more time. I said goodbye to a guy (son of the owner) who I know from another business they own. he said to call back and they'll look after me so I think there is definately some room for negociation there. There is no investment intention. its purely a gift thats all but obviously with the current economic condition I want the best I can get, at the lowest cost.
-
ANSWER:
OK, your caclculations are fairly accurate. But the price of £28/gramm is guaranteed 24ct. So unless you trust your jeweller it should be UK (or equivalent) hallmark.
Now if it is a plain bangle it shouldn't be much more than the gold value. If it is intricate, novel design then you will have to pay for that. Whatever you need to add on the jeweller's profit (10,20,30%??) A proper jeweller will probably be charging 4x or so the gold value.
Are you buying as a gold investor (probably not if only 10 grammes) or for the design? I would forget about intrinsic value and just buy what you like!

QUESTION:
why are there so many places out there buying all your gold/silver jewelry all of a sudden?
i noticed lately that so many places are looking to buy your old gold/silver jewelry at decent prices. i also see a lot ads in the papers/periodicals that are looking for the same thing. whats the deal? if i wanted to sell back some of mine, what should i look out for? how do i know i am getting what i should and not ripped off?-
ANSWER:
Look out for companies that ask you to mail your gold in.
Clark Howard from CNN.com has a scam artilcle on this.
You mail in your gold and you get about 1/3 to 1/4th of the value you would get at any pawn shop or local jewelry buyer.
If you want to sell, stay away from anything online.
Leave it for the dummies to mail in their gold and accept whatever offer they get - they will never know if they got a good price or not.
Get three estimates from local stores and sell to the highest bidder.

QUESTION:
how would I start my own jewelry business with real gold and diamonds?
I want to start my own jewelry store, but don't know where to buy real gold and diamonds from to start my store.-
ANSWER:
Not too sure but first you'd need money to start. Then you would have to get your gold and diamonds from a supplier. After that you would need it refined and made into jewerly designs by a desinger. Then you can sell it to put you in the positive of those expense.p.s. probably not a good time to start a jewerly store with the economy as it is.
p.s.s You should invest in stocks while you do this because if stocks are down gold goes up (which you will have in physical possusion) and vise versa so you will awaly have a fallback for either one.

QUESTION:
Selling Gold Jewelry?
Hello, my mom is looking to sell some 14 KT gold jewelry for money. A few bullion gold buyers wouldn't buy from individuals but the website USGOLDBUYERS.COM would. Is this website legitimate? Does anyone have any better gold buying websites (that will accept 14 KT jewelry)? What about verification and insurance, I work at a lab so was able to get the exact weight (to the 10th of a millgram) with an analytical balance. How does one know that they will get the same weight agree to the purity (14 Kt)? Once you send it in is there proof of submission and do you have the option to turn down their offer and get your jewelry back?-
ANSWER:
Well. spot gold price is 5.70 / troy ounce. Divide by 31.1 grams / troy ounce, then multiply by 14/24, because of the 14K. So the gold in your jewelry is worth .30 / gram. Probably a bullion buyer will not offer you more than the spot value, and may offer you substantially less. You can check spot prices anytime, they change often:

QUESTION:
Are any people out there thinking of selling their gold jewelry as seen on TV/?
There are a number of ads that say they buy old gold jewlery and will give you top doller, have any of you done this and been happy with the the money they give back to you?A friend of mine is going to do just that, and I wanted to check out and see how things went for you.
A lot of these companies have been in business a long time. They shoulld be honest or they would not have lasted this long.-
ANSWER:
Here is a review of one of the companies that you've seen on TVhttp://www.goldintomoney.com/company-reviews/cash4goldcom-company-review
I think they're much better than pawn shops... pawn shops will just sell your gold to a refiner anyway. And the only reason to sell to a jewelry store is if you have an antique or well crafted piece that is worth more than the actual materials. Otherwise, selling directly to the refiner is the best way to do it.

QUESTION:
How to buy gold in Dubai? Help!?
1. 'm travelling via Dubai (9 hrs). If I get transit visa, then where should I go to buy gold safely?
2. If I don't, in which shop can I buy gold in the Intl airport? (maybe a few pieces of jwelery and not much)
3. How to bargain outside?
4. What is the average price in Dhms that I should look for? (Tell me, if it is above "this much" on that day don't buy)
5. Is gold jewelery from dubai good or breakable?
6. Should I look for bullions instead of jewelry pieces?
7. Any add details would help. Thanks a ton. Do answer esp with personal experiences.-
ANSWER:
First get a transit visa. If flying with Emirates, a transit visa will be provided by the Airline. Otherwise you have to approach the Marhaba Service to obtain a 96 hrs. visa.1. You can take a cab and visit the gold souq where you can bargain.
2. You can shop in any jewelery shop at the Airport. No bargain there, but you can ask for a "special discount".
3. Example: seller says Dhs 1.000, you say 700, then the seller will tell you a price lower than Dhs 1.000 and you will raise your offer, and so on until you'll meet on a price acceptable for both of you. The seller always will make his profit, so don't worry. Most important: never let the seller know how bad you would like an item. Act like you would leave the shop and the seller may come after you with a better offer.
4. There is no average price. Sellers will go by the actual gold price of the day. You can check the actual price at the business part of the daily.
5. You'll get what you pay for.
6. If buying gold as an investment, then yes.
7. By buying a gold barren, you pay the actual price + commission. By buying jeweleries, you also pay the price of i.e. stones, ornaments etc.

Is is worth buying 24K gold-plated jewellery?
I understand that you have to keep them dry but how long do they last? What if I drop my jewellery on the toilet floor, say, the public toilet and I insist on washing it?Or should I spend more money and buy 18K gold jewellery instead?

Of you could, best try to avoid any gold plated jewellery cos it will eventually fade. Put some money instead into a 918 gold jewellery. If that is out of your budget then take an 18k gold jewellery cos it won't tanished like 23k gold plated jewellery. Hope this helps.

I'm not overly sure if this would help, but if you painted it with clear nail polish, you know the kind that has UVA/UVB sun protectants in it..

QUESTION:
selling my gold jewelry, need help!?
Hi, I bought a gold necklace with a cross on January 2008 which cost me 600 dollars. I am planning on selling it since I don't use it anymore. It has a very small dent on the cross with lots of inevitable small scratches that are only noticeable up close.
About how much do you suppose it'll be worth about now? (give me your best guestimation)
To sell it, do I just go to any pawn shop and ask the person how much they're willing to pay me for it?-
ANSWER:
what's the carat of the gold necklace and what's the weight of that item? Get help from local jeweler about these. You can try to sell on ebay, amazon or Craigslist, but don't go to pawn shop, they offers very very low price for jewelry...

QUESTION:
How to prevent gold plated jewelry from wearing away?
I want to buy a ring that is gold plated, but with a little research I found that gold plated sterling silver can wear away. I'm going to wear the ring EVERY DAY, so I can't keep it in a little bag every night. I can't really prevent it from going against hard surfaces, either, because accidents just happen.-
ANSWER:
Just put a little clear nail polish on the plating and that should do the trick. I did the same on my Juicy Couture gold plated charm bracelet and it worked really well

QUESTION:
What would you do about this friend?
I have a friend who I used to be really close with, but since I moved away we only text and talk online and very occasionally see each other. She has four children, a mooching boyfriend who lives with her (not the father of any of the children), and lives solely on government support (welfare). However, she buys her kids all designer name clothes, has iPhones and Blackberrys, keeps buying gold jewelry, and now she is planning an expensive wedding with this boyfriend that she has known for about 6 months.
As a working person, I am FURIOUS that I pay taxes while this girl lives off of welfare but she can afford things that I cannot. It's because 3 of her four children are disabled (it's a genetic disease and she really should have taken her doctor's advice and stopped having kids after the first one but didn't), so she actually gets PAID to stay home and take care of her 3 kids. It's like getting her rent paid for, and getting paid to take care of the kids that she decided to bring into the world BUT all the kids go to school AND they get free lunches there. Surely she can work part time while the kids are at school? She has never worked a job in her life because she had her first child at 18, and before that her parents paid for everything.
How can I tell her that I'm disgusted that she's wasting money that other people work hard for, while she sits at home watching TV all day and lives the high life? Should I report her to the government? How can I protest this?
Worst of all, she doesn't see how she's doing anything wrong. She's a good person at heart, but I'm ready to give up the friendship if it means saving taxpayers all of this wasted money.
-
ANSWER:
Is she using the system? Yes
Is she waisting money? Yes
Should tax payers have to carry the burden? NoSo if you do report her, what are YOU going to gain? Yes a few hundred dollars that taxpayers might "save", but in reality they're still going to be paying the same amount anyway because our taxes go into the system and are redistributed to someone else. She loses the money, someone else gains it, that someone else loses the benifits, then they just transfer them to someone else.
By all means talk to her about NOT getting married to a man she just met, and maybe buying such an expensive dress is not a good idea, but reporting or being jealous of what you don't have it's not good.
DO you want everything she has? Iphones, designer clothes, sick children? Take all of it or dont complain

QUESTION:
too soon to buy her diamond jewelry?
ive been dating my girlfriend 6 months and she wants a ring for her birthday....i am fully willing to buy her one but she was telling me how she lost her moms beautiful white gold diamond ring and shes hinted at diamonds. I feel that no matter the price of the diamond diamonds are a huge statement that im not willing to make yet....ill buy a white gold ring with any other jewel in it but not diamonds....is this wrong of me? does anyone else agree its too soon?-
ANSWER:
I see your point, and I agree, you should probably wait on the diamonds (as you have attached some symbolism to diamonds). Of course if there happen to be micro diamond "chips" in the ring, that probably wouldn't apply.

QUESTION:
how to make fake gold look less yellow?
It's my prom on Thursday and I have everything i need for it, all the jewellery I bought is gold (not real gold, just gold coloured) as my bag has a big gold buckle on it, the only problem is the jewellery I bought is a more antique looking brassy gold colour and the buckle is a very bright yellowy gold. I was wondering if there was anything I could do (for example something I could rub on it) to make it look more tarnished and antiquey rather than yellowy?-
ANSWER:
rub some deoxyribonucleic acid onto it

QUESTION:
How much money should you get if you sell 19 grams of 18k gold?
I have 3 bracelets I bought from a asian jewelry store and they are 18k gold I am trying to sell them so I can buy some white gold ones. how much should I get for them if they are about 19 grams of 18k gold.-
ANSWER:
24k gold is 100% gold so 18/24 = 75%,
Gold is priced in ounces so 19 grams = .67 ounces,
The current price of gold is 8.9 per ounceSo 75% of the .67 ounces of bracelets you have is .5 ounces of pure gold, so .5 x 628.9 = 4.45
So the value of the gold in the bracelets is worth about 4.45, but the design of the bracelets will add or decrease the value, plus the price of gold changes just like stock prices change, so the value of the gold in your bracelects will continually change.

QUESTION:
DIY: How to turn fake white gold colored beads into gunmetal colored beads?
I bought jewelry trims for a fashion project but I didn't know that the trims I bought would be a white gold color. Does anybody know how to turn the trims into a gunmetal color? Like, what do I use? Nail polish? Or what? I need help!-
ANSWER:
You can try nail polish but I found something that works better: that metallic paint used on model cars and warhammer figurines. It's in toy shops and hobby shops with the scale model cars and if there's a store that sells warhammer (like dungeons and dragons but with figurines) stuff there's lots of cool metal finish paints including gold and silver gunmetal, antique brass, dirty bronze and other cool metal paints. And zombie colored paints too.

QUESTION:
Can I wear gold with silver?
I have this great dress for an upcoming dance...short & black with a band of gold sequins down the front. But I don't want to buy gold heels to match and I already own a pair of gorgeous strappy silver stilettos. Plus I already own silver jewelry and don't exactly like the idea of buying gold accessories to match this dress. How critical is it that I wear gold with gold??-
ANSWER:
It's critical to some people. But you don't want to make yourself a canvas. If your dress already has some kind of ornament, then let that be your jewelry, and wear some black heels instead. The same rule with make-up applies to dress...Less is more.

QUESTION:
how to tell if gold jewelry is fake?
I was looking at my gold necklaces (pendants with their chains) and was wondering if they were fake. I bought them from eBay "power sellers" over the last couple of years. All of the jewelry are hallmarked either 10k or 14k, and contain the jeweler's trademark hallmark as well. I tried testing them with a magnet and found a curious thing. The pendants and chains were NOT attracted to the magnet. However, the one thing that was slightly attracted to the magnet was the circular clasp (the single piece that contains the "opening mechanism"). Not even the piece that attaches to the circular clasp to close the necklace was attracted to the magnet. Just the single circular clasp itself (and the attraction was fairly weak). Are these clasps made of something else to make it stronger (as gold is a soft metal). This was the case for all of the jewelry, bought from 3 different stores. One website said that if you rub jewelry on a non glazed ceramic plate, the scratch on the pate will be gold color if the piece is real, and black if the piece is fake. I tried it on a couple of pieces, and the scratch line was gold.
Is it possible for gold jewelry to have just the one clasp piece to be attracted to magnets? Perhaps the alloy is different, maybe containing nickel or some other metal that is attracted to magnets?
I've checked these sellers, and as I have said, they are power sellers, and also have separate websites for their stores. But this doesn't really prove anything. I also wanted to add that over the last couple of years, these pieces of jewelry have not tarnished, the color has not faded, and my skin has had no reaction to them.
So, what do you all think?
-
ANSWER:
I think there is a fair chance that all your pieces are real. Even though there may be fakes on the market, most of the hallmarked stuff is what they say it is. As you said, with so many sales, someone would have picked up earlier if these sellers were frauds.
The spring ring clasp has a spring inside, I am pretty sure, it would be steel or something like that. Gold wouldn't be strong enough. That would be the part that is magnetic. To properly test for gold, you need the right test liquid and use the right method. I wouldn't bother, unless you had a reason to be suspicious.

QUESTION:
What kind of jewelry would be good with my dress and how should I wear my hair?
I have had a rough time finding a dress this year. I went to prom last year and wore a teal dress so this year I tried to find something new.
Here is the link to my dresshttp://www.alycedesigns.com/2008cat/dress.php?id=9274
I have blonde hair and I have started to go tanning too.
I have bought gold shoes but no jewelry yet and I wanted to wear my hair half up and half down but ive had a hard time finding pictures of hair i liked.
-
ANSWER:
Well if you bought gold shoes, I would try to match my jewlery to the shoes. Try finding nice gold earrings. If you are going to wear your hair half up and half down, you might want to consider just wearing really nice gold dangly earrings. If you want to wear a necklace, I would go for something simple with the earrings. If you wear your hair half up and half down, you might want to curl the entire thing, then put half of it up in a bun and wear the other half down. You could also pin it in the back so it falls nicely. The dress is beautiful by the way. Don't stress out about the details. Go with your instincts. If that fails, make your sister or friend help you out =)
