The most successful precious metal traders are the ones who are able to analyse what the currency markets are doing presently and are likely to do in the future. The price of gold can influence the currency exchange rates and conversely exchange rates can have an impact on gold spot prices.
One reason for this is that gold is considered to be a 'safe' investment due to the fact that the gold price is less likely to be directly affected by inflationary pressures. Gold is considered to be a hedge against inflationary pressures. This means that if a currency is being devalued by inflation then people are likely to consider purchasing gold and this will push the price of gold up. A similar affect can be seen during a recession when a country's GDP may be depressed.
Analysis of the currency value plotted against the value of gold shows that higher the value of the dollar the lower the value of the gold spot price. We would expect to see this based on the principles discussed above. This inverse correlation has held true since the 1970's when the currency system in its current form came into existence. The inverse correlation between the precious Metal Price Index and the US Dollar Index has been substantiated by the World Gold Council.
As with any economic indicator, it should be noted that in the short term this inverse correlation does not always hold true. Periods where both the currency value and gold value have depreciated or appreciated together can be observed. Despite this over the long term the relationship finds its equilibrium and the trend is clear.

QUESTION:
What's the price of scrap gold per ounce US dollars?
I have some scrap gold to sell and I don't want to be ripped off.-
ANSWER:
Typically you will be able to sell scrap gold for a spot price... not the actual price it's trading for on the market (gold price is for future commodities)You can use this tool for estimates:

QUESTION:
anyone know the price for scrap gold? what about sterling silver?
I have lots of scrap 10K and 14K gold as well as some pieces of gold jewelry (rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets) and some sterling silver jewelry. Does anyone know what it's selling for these days? Or would I get more for the pieces if I sell them as pieces, not scrap? I need to make money quick, your answers are appreciated!-
ANSWER:
The price you will receive will depend on where you have your scrap reclaimed, the amount of scrap you have and the market rate for gold. Remember that you will not receive the spot price for gold in return for your scrap--there are assaying, refining/reclaiming costs that will need to be deducted.Instead of taking your scrap to a jeweler who would act as a middleman between you and the refiner (and therefore give you a little less than the refiner would give them), go directly through a refiner with a reclamation program. Anyone like a jeweler or the outfits that advertise on TV are actually just offering to act as middlement between you and the refiner for a piece of the pie.
I've used the refiner David H. Fell & Co. in Los Angeles for my scrap recovery and been very pleased with the system they have set up. Click on the link below for contact information; they will send you a kit you can use for submitting your scrap.
Good luck.

QUESTION:
fair price for scrap gold?
If I want to sell some gold jewelry for scrap, how much per gram of gold is a fair price? I know whoever I sell it to has to then sell it to a refiner, and everyone wants to make money along the way, so what should I expect? I know the karat weight of the items and how much they weigh, so I can calculate the exact amount of gold I have. It has a value of about 0 with gold at per gram. Thanks.-
ANSWER:
If the value of the gold is 0, I think a fair offer would be in the neighborhood of 0.

QUESTION:
scrap 9 carot gold price?
Ive 451 grams of 9 carat scrap gold, should i sell it now while the price is high or is it going to go any higher in coming months. If i do decide to sell it does anyone no any companies that will give me the highest price for it instead of these stupid advertisements on t,v...i seen a place in birmingham offering £9.75 for scrap 9 carat but im thinking if i could get higher it would be excellent..who do these people send there gold to as im sure there geting a lot more for it.-
ANSWER:
OK, 451 grams is almost a pound of metal and that's big time. Yes, sell it now, you are near the highest price for gold which is in a bubble and far more likely to decline than to appreciate much higher. 9 karat gold is 9/24 pure or 0.375 fine gold. 451 x 0.375 = 169.125 grams pure gold content. 169.125/31.1 = 5.44 troy ounces of actual gold weight. At today's price of about GBP770/troy ounce would give you a meltdown value of almost GBP4,200 for the whole lot. A local scrap dealer should pay you at least 70-75% of that, so call around locally. You are right, those TV spots are rip-offs and simply looking for a sucker. You could also try eBay, where even scrap gold sells at auction for 90-95% of spot price, but you would have to prove the gold content somehow, possibly by certification by an assayer.

QUESTION:
Scrap Gold Prices in UK - What Kind of Money Do You Make Selling Scrap Gold in London?-
ANSWER:
Gold is currently trading at about 700 euros with London as the world's bullion trading hub. Selling scrap gold makes a good part-time income because of the high liquidity and recession-proof nature of the business.Gold helps hedge against inflation & economic uncertainties. You can scrap gold out of cell phones, dental fillings, old coins, PC electronics and jewellry trades with others.
To get today's gold price per gram, take today's gold price in troy ounce and divide it by 31.1
Gold fineness also determines its value (usually 10k, 14k or 18k). For this, segregate gold scrap into karat lots before selling.

QUESTION:
How much is the price of gold today 7/12/2008 closing on 7/11/2008?
I am looking to see gold as scrap, gold in new pieces, and silver as scrap and new pieces.I am going to different jewelers that buy gold to see what the best price is,I just want to know what I am up against and the real prices versus what they will pay.Any feedback to help me not get ripped off or sold for alot less than I should. Thanks-
ANSWER:
Prices change constantly, you can monitor them online:http://www.kitco.com
Dealers will charge you a small percentage over "spot", or pay you a small percentage under "spot", for items valued primarily for their gold or silver content. Rare items or finely worked jewely goes for even more. If you just want to buy and sell gold or silver, you might check coin dealers as well.

QUESTION:
Where in canada can I get above 97% of scrap value for gold?
I have a place here in Maryland that gives me 96% of the goldspot price on my scrap gold. In canada, gold goes for more an ounce. Im looking to maybe ship some out and get a little bit more for it. Does anyone know of a gold liquidator in canada??-
ANSWER:
First, it is a very rare business that pays better than that. Paying more means giving up their profit margin. In general, only private individuals pay better than that. My own business pays slightly better, but only for coins - I am not buying scrap gold right now, and if I was, I would be paying less.
Second, while you do get more dollars for your gold in Canada, they are Canadian dollars. Spot gold is presently US20, which equals CAN95. Canadian dollars are worth slightly less than US dollars, and you will lose a little bit converting then to US dollars.

-
QUESTION:
Why is the price of gold so high at the moment?
How much more do the people that buy gold for scrap make on it?-
ANSWER:
The scrap gold people will offer you 50-65 % of what it is actually worth. So they are making 50 - 100% profit over what they pay.

QUESTION:
where to sell gold bullion / dore from dental scrap gold to?
I've melted lots of dental scrap into an ingot / gold bar and refined it using a home refining system. its 99.98% gold. where can i sell it to? I saw others on Ebay which sold for a lot less than the gold spot price (ie, spot was /gram and other home-made bars were selling for roughly /gram only) The only ones selling for a good price were the stamped ones from Metalor, Suisse, etc. Since I made it myself, what do I do with it? I tried selling some before to refiners I found online like Midwest Refineries and Garfield, but the return was NOT as advertised. They claimed I would get 94%-96% of the value but they really only gave me like 60% - scammers, to say the least. Anyways, does anyone have experience with a reputable gold buyer for non-minted gold bullions? Allso, I have a good amount of palladium which is about half the price of gold - who can buy that at a good price? Thanks
im dealing with about 50 oz. what is the minimum for a known refining company to refine my gold, and do you know what rates they charge?-
ANSWER:
Many coin dealers will buy bullion. You might also try jewelry stores (real jewelers, not the places in the mall).

QUESTION:
price of gold estimate?
I have a gold ring with fake pearl and it looks like real diamond chips that was purchased from Witmark and a gold pin with nothing on it and I was wondering if anyone knew a ballpark estimate on how much I would get if I took it in for scrap gold.-
ANSWER:
It depends on a number of things such as the quality of the gold. The best thing to do is take it in to a jeweler. Most good ones will give you a rough value for free. Just make it clear that you do not want to sell it to them because they will be a lot more honest about the price

Does anyone no if gold is going to get any higher than it is as ive heard rumours that its going to reach near £1500 an ounce in may, would it be wise for me to hold of with my scrap gold and sell it then.-

Of course gold is going to keep rising in value as there is less and less in the world. More countries use gold as the main foundation for there currency, though different mining companies pop up and may find more gold but id say it would be in your best intrest to keep it.

QUESTION:
How do you reclaim the scrap gold from old computer memory?
how do you get the gold off the memory? I have seen bulk lots of memory on ebay for sale for scrap but im not really sure how to do this. How much gold can you get form each memory chip? what would be the right price to pay for say a lot of 100 memory chips? I have been wanting to get into doing this for awhile but im just unsure of how to do it. Thanks to anyone who can help me or point me in the right direction.-
ANSWER:
The following I found for you on:
http://www.finishing.com/191/49.shtml
It was submitted by Richard Alcor, Cushing, OK, USAThere are a number of methods that may be used. Reverse electroplating is generally fairly simple and can be done using an automotive battery charger, a stainless steel plate, a carbon rod (or another stainless steel sheet), a 5 gallon detergent bucket and some commonly available (and inexpensive chemicals). This method works well for certain types of scrap; clipped leads and ends for instance and heavy plated scrap. Whole PCB scrap COULD also be done this way, but you would need to first crush and burn to reduce the volume and get rid of waste materials. You can also use AR (Aqua Regia method), Cyanide Leach (or alternative using a product called Cyanide Leach Substitute or CLS), mercury, etc.
I generally use AR for everything. Processors, memory and clipped leads all provide excellent returns. I also do the rest of the PCB, after crushing and burning. Hard drives, in my experience, take so long to dismantle that they are worth more to me as dirty aluminum scrap than anything. If you spend the time to come up with a better method for retrieving the scrap from the read/write head and platters inside the drive, then they too may be profitable (a lot of people swear by them).
In my experience, whole PCB board of mixed type from mixed sources will provide around 1-3USD/lb profit after expenses using AR.

QUESTION:
Buying gold in foreign countries?
Hi,
I have a question; I have learned that the U. S. Dollar-though shrinking in value still has some decent momentum for its value in China. Therefore-- what about the price of gold in China? Can a person buy gold in China and get more for it because the US dollar still holds value there, or are there limitations to importing gold from China to the US? What about other countries as well ... any ideas on how to procure scrap gold and come out with a big profit? Thanks,.-
ANSWER:
Actually, the exchange rate between the US Dollar and the Chinese Renminbi is fixed by the Chinese government. That creates the perception that the US Dollar is maintaining its value there. As you may be aware, the US has been putting pressure on China to sever that link, which would cause the Chinese Renminbi to appreciate rapidly against the dollar (which would also make Chinese goods more expensive in the US and make US goods cheaper in China.
In the mean time, buying gold there may not be a bad idea. I don't know of any restrictions on exporting gold from China. You may have to pay customs in the US, though.

QUESTION:
Scrap Gold Who Gives the Best Prices?
I have some scrap gold to sell.I've been given a code (which is 61240) that I'm told you can type into the form at Hatton Garden Metals and you will then get a better price than they advertise on their website for scrap gold.
I've looked at their advertised prices, which seem very good - just about the best in fact - and I've also seen loads of horror stories on the net about TV scrap gold companies ripping people off and paying a very low amount.
Has anyone used any scrap gold companies, what have been your experiences, and has anyone tried the code at Hatton Garden Metals (and does it really give you more money)?
Thanks.
Rocky, I'm asking a question here, not asking for a sales pitch on your company, and I have 2 issues.1) I am in the UK not the US, so what you do or don't do is totally irrelevant.
2) Don't post on here that another company in the same business as you has "scammed" people - post WHERE you have found this online, because I can't find any evidence of this at all. What you've posted just looks like a sales pitch, and anattempt to blacken the name of another company. Please post links to where these bad reviews are.

ANSWER:
Figuring out who will give you the most money for your scrap gold can be very difficult if you are not experienced. I work for a precious metals refinery called Metallix Direct Gold, which has been buying precious metal scrap for over 40 years. I did some research on Hatton Gold Metals, and found that a few customers have reported to being scammed by the company. Our website has a gold calculator which will give you an estimate on how much you would get for your gold with daily updated prices according to the London Fix. If you like the price of the estimate, you can send in your gold to us and we will analyze exactly what the price will be. If you are not happy with the price that you will be getting, then we will send all of it back to you as soon as possible. We also insure your package up to ,000 when you send your scrap. If you have an extra minute, check out or free download on the 7 Steps To Getting The Most Money For Your Gold. QUESTION:
Scrap Gold.. How to figure value?
How do I figure the value of scrap gold? I need to know the price per gram. Thank you!-
ANSWER:
It should be published in the paper in the financial section. It varies from day to day, and from country to country, of course. I sold a lot of old broken bits several months ago (many jewellers will buy it) and got about £70 (0) for it. They have to buy it at that day's official price. In the UK it will go back, I think, to the Bank of England, if bought officially like that.

QUESTION:
scrap or broken gold?
what do the trade do with high volumes of scrap gold. and whats the best price on the fix on offer? does any one know if you can get more that the gold fix 4 scrap? thanks-
ANSWER:
You should look to sell direct to gold refiners, not a middleman. They melt it down in a furnace, to purify it. Do an internet search to find a suitable company. I used to work for a company that did this. They bought pure, and sold scrap, to Johnson Matthey, or Engelhard.

QUESTION:
IS WHITE GOLD WORTH THE SAME AS ALL OTHER GOLD??? ***10 pts***?
When selling scrap gold, will I get the same price for white gold as any other type of gold? Just curious. 10 pts.-
ANSWER:
When selling gold (scrap or other) the price you receive is based upon the gold content. Because gold is too soft to be used pure, it is mixed with other metals, usually silver and copper.
Follow the link below, and you will get a good idea of the gold content based on the number of carats of the gold (the higher, the softer and the more pure gold)
White gold will be about 37 % gold and 63 % silver. To make the story short, white gold is going to be paid way less than 22 carat gold.http://www.utilisegold.com/jewellery_technology/colours/colour_alloys/

QUESTION:
ALOT of gold?
my family knows I like gold alot and because soaring prices of gold. I recieved a gift of scrap gold I got 2 ounces of 24 carot gold. Where can I sell this I am 16 so I can't pawn it.-
ANSWER:
Do not sell it to any of those scrap gold companies you have seen or heard advertised, you will be paid much less than it is worth. I recommend selling on an auction site like ebay where people are actively seeking scrap gold for refining. A well-written ad can actually get you more than it is worth.BTW: a Troy ounce (which is how precious metal is traded) is 31.1 grams.
Solid 24 karat gold is not scrap, it is called bullion. Jewelry is RARELY made from 24 karat gold since it is far too malleable. Most pieces that are marked 24 k are actually gold plated jewelers brass. Some makers have maked their pieces 24 k as a means of deception.

QUESTION:
Troy Ounces Conversion Help Gold Refinery Question!!!!?
I am having trouble figuring this out. Lets say I have 3 grams of 14K gold. I know that a troy oz is 31.15g and lets say today's price of Gold is 1500.00 per troy oz. The Refinery only pays 98% of a troy oz. BUT, for 14kt, only 58% is counted. If anyone has experience with Gold Scrap please, you know what I'm talking about and help me figure this out!-
ANSWER:
Well the reason that only 58% of the weight of 14 karat gold is counted is because it is only 58.33% of actual gold, with the rest being other metals, such as copper or silver. Pure gold is 24 karat. Therefore: 14 divided by 24 = 0.58333 = 58.33%. If the refinery actually pays 98% of the gold spot price that is a super good offer.

QUESTION:
how much would i get if i sell my scrap gold?
i know prices always fluctuate but i live in new york and i have a bunch of gold hoop earrings, some old necklaces.. and i have a name plate ring and nameplate necklace that were both very expensive. How much do you think i would get for it?-

It will depend on the weight (heaviness) and carat weight of each of the items (10k, 14k, 18k) that will determine the overall price.I work in NY and I actually just scrapped some old earrings and a broken bracelet and an old class ring...made several hundred dollars off of everything and it was mostly 14k gold.

QUESTION:
I've been working at a Pawn Broker / Check Casher for about a year now...?
I work on salary, plus commission. The cheaper I can buy something, the greater my commission. The more I can sell something for, the greater my commission. It is a sliding scale where more I take advantage of someone, the more I make. For example, yesterday the price for scrap gold was .33 per gram, as we generally pay 1/3 the price of closing price the previous day. If we have a dramatic price change up or down, we something adjust in the middle of the day.
If I can buy 10 grams of gold for .30, I get 5% of that, or .66. If I can get away paying less, say for 10 grams, I get 5% plus 50% of the difference, .66 plus .65.
Lately I've really be doing well, but my conscious is getting the better of me. There's no way I'm going to give up a 0+ week job, as this is a good 0 a week more than I earned as a delivery truck driver. However, I need to balance what I do. I gave 0 worth of food to the local pet shelter today. That felt good, but an hour later, I feel guilty
again. At work they say "it's just business, and business is good". Every other business is there for the same reason, to make money. Some are a little distasteful like my job, but am I really any different than anyone else? We all make money.
Any suggestions on how I can balance what I do with how it makes me feel more and more often? I don't want to give up the good living I earn, as just like anyone else, I don't deserve to live in poverty, so why should I?-
ANSWER:
If you are feeling guilty, that should be telling you something. You don't need to ask anyone else's opinion, you have already answered your own question. What you are doing is not right. Can you live with the guilt?

QUESTION:
Should I sell my gold jewelry and scrap gold now? I have over 11 oz of 14k.?
At over 0 for gold this morning, I have read predictions that the more we go into a recession, the higher the price of precious metals. Now I'm wondering, should I sell the small amount that I have or hold on? These are pieces I can let go of with no attachment but I'm wondering if it would be more prudent to hold on...any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks!-
ANSWER:
That 0 per ounce is troy ounces which is 31 grams not 28 grams, that is the way precious metal is wieghed so you probably have closer to 10 oztYour gold is 14 k, spot price is for 24 k so you are talking a price of 5/ozt not 0
The places which buy your scrap gold only give a percentage of the spot price because they in turn, sell it to recyclers who don't give them the spot price since they have refining costs and also need to turn a profit so you are only going to get at best, about a third to half of what your gold is worth.
If you want to sell, your best bet would be to sell the items as scrap gold on a site like ebay. There are many bidders who buy scrap gold. Personally, I cannot bear the thought of sellng my gold, I am a gold prospector for the hobby, not the money.

QUESTION:
Scrap Gold - what to expect?
I have lots of gold I am going to scrap. A friend of mine works at the Kiosk so I'm sure I won't get completely screwed...however, what do I need to expect? I know gold is at 1400. right now which would be the base price for 24k. So, about per gram of pure gold. How much less will the 14k be than the 24k, and how much lower will the 10k be from the 14k? Obviously I'm not expecting to get the full value. I know how a business has to run. But what is a good range? 30%? 50%? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
The gold is separated into the different purities. Sorry for not adding before.-
ANSWER:
normally, u should separate the scrap into : 14k, or, 10k, or 24k. this will be more easy for u to sell it in future.
if it is a mixture, nobody can give u a price about it.
the best is : u look for a company who can re-fine the gold. u could send the scrap to them and they will re-fine it for u: u will get the fine gold ( or they will buy it ) and will pay them the labor!
i used t be a jeweler in china and, this is the way what we are doing here!
good luck!

QUESTION:
What is the value of a 22 carat gold half sovereign?
I want to sell some Royal Mint jewellery (unwanted gifts) to a scrap gold/ second hand jewellery merchant but I don't know what it is worth. I have the following:
A 9ct gold chain & cross bar (with 10 small diamonds) & a 22ct half sovereign pendant from 2003 - limited edition of 5000. Also a pair of 9ct gold earrings in a cross design with a small emerald in the centre & very small diamonds. Finally a sterling silver fine chain with pendant & 3 small sapphires. Can anyone help? What is the minimum I should take? I had a look on www.royalmint.com & the jewellery on there isn't cheap, but if you are selling it on second hand what sort of price can you expect to get?-
ANSWER:
You would be well advised to take them to a reputable jewellery store or two, or a reputable pawnbroker, they also buy scrap gold and will give you a fair price.Obviously you wont get full values as they need a margin for profit. If i were you i would also consider a reputable auction house as you might get a better price there, but get a valuation first and put a reserve on at 70% of full value.
Good Luck.

I live in Rugby, and went round a few shops, and the expensive type shops didnt want to buy it ! They said they "would" give a high price...only they "werent buying at the moment" ....Hmmm! ANSWER:
My friend wanted to do the same thing.
She did a lot of research, and she found a great place online. I will provide the link for you below if you are interested.
She compared a lot of places. She felt good about this one because it was featured in USA Today, and she liked the fact that they are members of the BBB.
They were willing to give her the best price for her gold, and they were willing to pay her fast.
There is a ton of information on that site if you would like to check it out. You can put in your information if you would like to find out what you can get for your gold.
Good luck, I hope you get they money you want for it!

QUESTION:
How much money do I get for 9 grams of scrap gold?
Hi, ...well I have this 9 grams of gold (broken, old and ugly pieces mostly lol) and well I saw the "cashman" kinda cheesy commercials on TV ...and read about him on the newspaper and I was wondering....how much does the cashman or any dealer pays you for gram, cause I don't thing they pay you the full price of a gram...there has to be some kind of trick, because I remember back in my home country dealers like this used to pay you like 1/4 of the price per gram or something like that ...oh well I don't expect to get rich I just want to sell all this old pieces and get enough money to get a nice one or save the money...I just thought it would be a good idea to visit this cashman guy and see how much I can get from all this scrap jewels...and well even though almost all of the pieces are marked 10K and 14K there is one that only some letters and the gold is kinda yellow ..it is a ring very old but still looks nice is there a way to find out if it is made of real gold or is it gold plated
...and has anyone ever gone to see the cashman or any other gold buyer? Is it really a good idea to go to see him? Thank You.-
ANSWER:
Hi. The price varies as you said if it is 10K or 14K. The spot market dictates the price at the moment of execution of the deal. You can test any gold item by making a file cut on the item(less obviously seen spot) and placing a drop of sulfuric acid..you can buy a kit1 If the metal stay the same color...it is gold. If it foams and turns green or off color plated green means copper..white ..base metal. You can also use a rub stone to tell you the Karat of the gold..but that takes practice. you can also shop it around at a jewelers shop or coin shop...but be sure you take pictures 1st and count and weigh the product...and let them know that you have done so..or else you might end up missing some of your product. You have a little over 1/4 ounce of gold or combo...you would average out what you have to come up with your base money. Just guessing sounds like you have between .00 to 5.00 in value. you can also bring it to an auction house...like mine and we would either buy it..consign it or give you a free appraisal. tagger

QUESTION:
Trying to get out of debt, when is the best time to sell our scrap gold and silver?
My husband and I are trying to get out of debt, paying off credit cards, student loans, etc. We have made quite a dent in the past two years considering we have a six year old, four year old, and one year old. We have a decent amount of scrap gold and silver we would like to sell to pay off debt or invest in my husbands business (he needs cash for a buying trip as we sell items online). We have a friend that does this and will give us a fair price for it. Do we hold onto it and hope that the prices continue to climb, or go ahead and sell it and pay towards our debt or invest in the business now? When do you think it will reach it's peak price?-
ANSWER:
Unfortunately, it is not clear when gold and silver will "peak", but it looks like some point in the indefinite future. It could be next month, it could be years down the road. Gold and silver have appreciated nicely over the past 5 years, but I don't think anyone can tell you when the best time to sell would be.Grandpa

QUESTION:
Im thinking of selling my gold necklace, how much can I expect to get for it?
I guess I am going to take it to one of the many places that seem to be buying gold these days. It is not scrap it is in perfect condition. But I am sure they will buy it as scrap. It is 14k gold and weighs 156.1grams. I just checked todays spot price and its is 17 per troy ounce. So maybe that will save you a minute. I am just curious as a ballpark how much I can expect to get for it.-
ANSWER:
If it's in perfect condition, there is no need to sell it as scrap. I'm sure that there will be other persons who will be interested to own that beautiful piece of jewelry. On other hand, if you want to get the most buy selling it as gold, you could try to learn how to get the most from it by reading this article I've found in the Net. I wouldnt send it off in one of those envelopes, but what do you do? Go from jeweller to jeweller to see who will give you the best price? Also, what happens if you have got a gold ring with diamonds in, someone told me that jewellers will only pay you scrap value for the gold and not pay for the diamonds?
Help - I really want to get the best deal.
Thank you
-
ANSWER:
Those envelopes will send you pennies for your gold.
And you will never know anybetter and not complain since you never knew the value. All the companies will only pay you for the scrap value.
Take your gold to three pawn shops and dealers.
You must tell them you need an estimate good for 48 hours and that you will compare other jewelers and pawn shops.

QUESTION:
Can a broken watch ever have any scrap value?
I am having a clear out and I have a Longines 9 ct gold ’Presence’ gents wristwatch which let me down very badly about 10 years ago when its case split. Consequently I rather fell out of love with the Longines marque. I don’t care to repair it by way of replacing the case, the cost would at least equal the price paid for the watch which was £400.Should I just throw it away?
-
ANSWER:
I see watch parts on ebay all of the time. Expensive watch parts, especially older ones do have value as this is often the only source. If the mechanicals are good I would expect that it has some value,
