     a gram for 14k is pretty damn good. I know in vegas right now alot of places are offering between and a gram for 14k. If you wanna know what the total worth per gram is you just have to do some basic math.

     Goto monex.com and look at live prices, as I write this now its at ,113 per ounce. Now to figure out the per gram price we have to take 1113 / 31.103 X the purity of gold(31.103 is a troy ounce, which is whats used in gold trading), which in this case is 14k so the purity is .585 which comes out to .93. Now may seem cheap when compared to but they must make some money also.

     If your dealing with a pawn shop then they will resell the gold to a company that melts it down. They get anywhere between 90% and 98% of the .93(or whatever the price is that day) from the melt down company.

     If you wanna do the math on your 18k pieces then the purity is .750 instead of the .585 of 14k.

    Best Way to sell 14k Gold rings?
    I have just came upon some 14k gold rings which are fairly new, almost like a collection of rings. When i researched the price for gold on some websites i got that i could sell it for around £13 per gram. I have around 100 grams, which is still good money but recently i read a daily mail article about the sites which i was looking at saying that they were HUGE rip offs and were selling for around triple that price. I have also checked some jewellers but they are offering poor amounts of money. Does anyone know the best way to sell these rings successfully?

      Please remember that gold is not weighed in the normal way - one 'Troy Ounce' weighs approx 31 grammes, a normal ounce weighs 28g.

15. QUESTION:
    Is it legal to sell 14k, 18k gold, "Rolex" ect. on Ebay, "As Is" if it is a fake?
    I bought over 0.00 worth of "stamped 14k" gold and watches off a goverment site on Ebay and they are all fake. I e-mailed them and they said items were sold "As Is", but I thought it was illegal to sell conterfit items. What can I do? Is there someone I can contact? Please!!!!!!!!

      What they did was illegal. You will need to contact Ebay. Ebay has specific rules that say selling counterfeit items is prohibited.

      Also, fire off a letter to Rolex and let them know what happened. If you do not get much out of Ebay, send Rolex another letter letting them know that Ebay is not doing anything about it.

      A lot of companies spend a lot of money to promote their image and their trademark. They will do a lot to keep counterfeiters from ruining it. Ebay has already been threatened with lawsuits for not doing enough to stop some of the flagrent counterfeit items being sold on their site. Rolex will probably have an entire department devoted to shutting down these scammers. I looked on the Rolex site though. It is a monster that takes a long time to load and I could not find anything in the way of contact information. However, I did not look too hard. Maybe if you contact an authorized Rolex dealer, you can get some contact information on the company.

      You could try a local cash converter kind of place, where they buy gold for cash. However, you're likely to get ripped off there and end up feeling bad for selling your jewellery basically for scrap.

      Some people will probably say you're mean for selling a gift but if you're not going to get any use out of it then I say that as long as you're discreet about it, there shouldn't be a problem. Maybe try Ebay, with a good advert and some lovely quality pics showing how nice and item it is? Good luck!

      Well, that all depends. Are they diamonds, or are they rhinestones? Rhinestones are a replica and unless they're crystal and produced by Swarovski, etc. under the name 'Austrian Crystal' they're not worth anything.
      14k gold isn't worth much, either.
      If they are real diamonds then the size is incredibly important.
      Total carat weight?
      You'll also need to know the jeweler. Obviously earrings from Cartier will sell for more than a look-alike set from Ben Moss.
      Take them to a jeweler and have them appraised. That's the only way you'll know for sure.

I doubt you will get out of it what you feel it is worth unless you have an appraisal. Most of your higher scale jewelry stores should be able to give you one. They may charge a fee. To mwe it would be worth the fee to find out the value before you try and sell it.

      First of all, you can go there and get a quote. Secondly, Craigslist is a wonderful media for selling things in your area. Remember, whatever price they quote you has to leave room for profit. You might want to sell it on your own before you accept their gold quote. Don't let them push you in to it. Tell them you need to think about and talk to your mom/friend/uncle or whoever to give you an excuse as to why you can't answer them right away. Then try to sell them on your own.

      18 K gold is softer than 10K or 14K. 10K being the most durable. If you have a ring made of 18K, it tends to bend easily and if you have a Tiffiny (6 pronged setting) then the prongs will bend easier and you will run a better chance of losing the stone.
