Sell Gold Chicago

As a review, selling covered calls is the process of owning a stock and selling call options to collection premium. For example, if you own 1000 shares of Intel and it is trading at , you may be able to sell the next months strike price for $.50, taking in 0 in premium, which is yours to keep no matter what. If Intel is under at expiration, you get to keep the premium and the stock. If it is at or over , then you must surrender your stock at the higher price.

Weekly options come out every Thursday and expire the following Friday. In the last week of the month there are no new options created because the monthly roster of options expire the following week, usually the third Friday of the month. With the Weeklys, collapse of implied volatility and time decay is your new best buddy. There have been times when options sold on Thursday morning dropped more than 30% by the close on Monday.

To get a current list, go to the Chicago Board of Options Exchange (CBOE) and on the top navigation pane select Products, then Weeklys. Weekly option selections can fluctuate because each exchange is only allowed five selections. They will select the ones with the best trading volume.

The current list includes an all star line of stocks like Apple, Amazon, Bidu, Netflix, Price Line, Intel, Microsoft, Cisco, IBM, Caterpillar, Las Vegas Sands, Potash, Goldman Sachs, Freeport McMoran Copper, Research in Motion and many more. ETFs include SPY, QQQ, FAS, FAZ, GLD, GDX, IWM, USO, XLF, EEM and others.

Make Sure You Have a Trading Plan

What is a trading plan? Its a document you write that precisely outlines what types of trades you take, under what conditions, defines risk versus reward for good money management. A solid trading plan makes the actions automatic and not emotional. If this happens then you do that.

For example, what would you do if the weekly call you sold suddenly dropped more than 50% well before expiration? Would you buy back or hold? There is no right or wrong answer. For me, my plan instructs me if the call premium erodes by 50% or better to buy it back and take the profits. When the stock rebounds, I am then instructed to sell the best strike representing the new trend and repeat the process.

There have been times that the stock stayed flat and did not rebound and more money would have been made by letting the option expire. Again, my plan is aggressive and suites my style. Often times due to the volatility of the stocks being written, like Amazon, Bidu, Las Vegas Sands, 50% dips and nice rebounds can often happen in the same week!

If a stock craters, my plan insists I sell if the stock breaks a major resistance point; automatically selling the stock and buying back the greatly reduced call. On core holdings, I have long-dated puts on them to protect to the downside, so I let the puts do their work and reenter at a later day as the stock starts to rebound.

Make sure you trading plan is precise and detailed. Good plans are specific and can be measured. As you gain more trading experience, your plan will constantly be in motion; adding new sections for various types of trades or adjusting risk versus reward parameters to suit the present market conditions.

Where's the best place to sell gold in Chicago?
Want to sell old jewelry but make sure that I'm not getting ripped off.

    • ANSWER:
      Hoffman Jewelry-Highland Park

  2. QUESTION:
Where can I sell an ounce of gold in Chicago for a good price?

    • ANSWER:
If that gold is in the form of jewelry, see a local jeweler and you should get 85-90% of the spot price for the actual gold weight. Keep in mind that most jewelry gold is an alloy. 24 karat gold is 100% gold. 18 karat gold is only 75% gold.

If the gold is in the form of gold coins, either bullion or numismatic coins, then see a local coin dealer and you should get very close to the actual spot price for gold, currently around ,500/oz. An alternative is to offer it at auction on eBay and most the time you will get a premium price for it.

  3. QUESTION:
where is the best place to sell gold jewelry? Im in chicago?

    • ANSWER:
If you're selling scrap gold and jewelry... like things you don't wear anymore, then your best bet is to sell it to an refiner online. You ship off your gold and they'll send you a check very quickly. http://www.goldintomoney.com has more information. Avoid pawn shops because they skim a bit off the top, and your gold ends up in the same place anyway

If it's a rare piece or antique, then you're better off shopping it around to a few jewelry stores.

  12. QUESTION:
How much is my antique sewing machine worth?
I got an antique sewing machine from my grandmother. It is a portable, in the case model that says "The Free Sewing Machine Co., Chicago." It is black with gold painting and electric. Can anyone point me to where I could locate its worth and where I could possibly sell it?? Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Unfortunately, post-treadle sewing machines are not that collectible. If you would like to know the going rate for your particular model, put a query on eBay for the make and model of your machine under completed items. This will tell you what collectors have paid for your model machine over the last 30 days or so. You will see that shipping is expensive, at -, and the auctions do not go very high.

Event true antique sewing machines with treadles, in the original. working condition with the sewing table intact (all drawers present, etc.) only fetch between 0 and 0, and most people buy them as decorative items. Sorry I don't have better news.

  13. QUESTION:
Sell My Ring And Porcelian Dolls.?
    I have a gold 10K ring. I want to sell it. Not on Ebay or Craigslist. I want to sell it some place local. Does anyone know any good pawn shops or somethings that will give me good money for it in the 62208 area? { I live in fairview heights, illinois, 62208}

Also, I have about 50 porcelian dolls, and I don't want to sell them on Ebay ( i dont have a credit card to use to list my items.. im 13 yrs old). I have tried Craigslist but no luck. Socan anyone give me a place I could take these and get money for them in the 62208 area? Some where in Illinois, but not in Chicago.

    • ANSWER:
I am sorry to say that a pawn shop will give you almost nothing for your ring. Your best bet would be to find a friend or neighbor to sell it to. You won't get full price for it, since it is used, unless it is over 50 years old or custom made.
You probably won't find anyone who can afford to buy all your dolls at once, so you will probably have to sell them one at a time.
I would try craigslist again and again, since it is free. Post photos of just a few dolls at a time and suggest that they would be nice gifts for a girl.
If that does not work, start putting up for sale signs in laundromats, grocery stores, or wherever you can think to put one. Make sure that you don't put your name or address on the signs. You don't want to attract bums. Let them think that an adult is selling the items. Make sure that an adult is with you any time you sell anything.
The challenge is to try and think of who would want to buy the dolls (and have the money to buy them) and how to get the word to that type of person. My guess is that they would be good gifts for girls, so can you find people who need to buy gifts for the right age girl....maybe some fathers or uncles of girls? Or do you know some younger girls that would maybe buy one? Ask the men and boys in your family to help you think of guys who might want to buy a doll for a relative or girlfriend.
Make sure that they are in good condition, nice and clean and their hair is nice and they are not broken. Don't expect to get full price for them. People will buy from you, and not a store, only if you can give them a good deal. Probably about half price, or less. Find some nice tissue paper or wrapping paper so you can wrap up a doll if someone buys it for a gift.
You could also see if anyone in your area is having a doll show or collectibles show and would let you bring and sell your dolls for a fee. Sometimes you can rent part of a table. Bring an adult with you, and some change.
If you can't find buyers, consider asking a friend to help you sell, in exchange for part of the money. Figure out how much money ahead of time, so you don't lose the friendship over money.
If the time isn't right to sell, start asking neighbors and friends if they have jobs for you. You can help clean houses, wash and vacuum cars, babysit, walk dogs, bring in the paper/mail and water plants for people on vacation, shop for people, watch their kids while they take a nap or clean house, help with birthday parties, bake cakes, water lawns, do yard work, vacuum carpets, help carry stuff, clean out garages. Let people know that want to earn money and that you are ready and willing to be their assistant.

  14. QUESTION:
    buying silver and gold question?
I've been buying silver and gold for a few years now. Bulk us/foreign junk, bars, and some collectible coins that I find interesting. I have a few questions. I check Kitco for my prices. Does the price continue to change in Europe, and on weekends after NY is closed? For example: I'm in Chicago, about 2:00am Sat. looking at Fri close. Will prices be changing in London, and Japan during there business hours? Question #2. I only have about 10oz Gold, but I have about 500oz of silver 1, & 10oz bars. (safe space is becoming an issue). I would like to sell some of the silver, and buy more gold. Is there a math formula to figure the buy, sell to value of each so I'm not screwing myself? I'm not very experienced at any of this. It started as a hobby about 5yrs back, and now that I have seen how much metals have grown I'm more interested. Any help would be great.

  16. QUESTION:
When is real estate, a usable hard asset unlike gold, due to roar to life with the dollar's pending collapse?
In times of uncertainty, hard assets have held their inflationary value, whether, real estate, gold, diamonds, etc. In the total collapse of a nation, real estate was valueless. Just look at Russia 1917 when the Leninists appropriated all private property.

I'm betting (and hoping) that the US doesn't follow 1917 Russia into a decades long abyss. I have been heavily invested in real estate for a decade and have seen the value of my holdings cut in half while I have seen the value of gold soar. Personally, I am tempted to buy some gold to hedge my chances of financial survival - but I'm afraid that I will be suckered and get gold that is only 60% while paying for the 99.999% stuff.

The fact that gold has climbed dramatically, leads me to fear that this is being manipulated by government and financial wizards (by running the treasury's printing presses at full tilt for the so called stimulus spending). Besides, gold has all sorts of fee's involved in buying and selling and the middleman makes out quite handily.

The present day gold rush reminds me of the silver run and bust back in the 1970's. It seems that every gas station was willing to sell gas for 10 to 20 times face value of a silver quarter. You could have topped off your tank for one or two pre-1964 quarters. Then it all went to hell.

Real estate was depressed and stagnant in the 1970's. Having been in Chicago, the Old Town area was a depressed area inhabited by the drug ridden left over hippies from the 1968 era. You could have bought a property there for -50K. Jump forward one or two decades and this area became one of the hottest real estate markets where you couldn't touch a property for less than high 6 figures.

Patience is a virtue, at today's prices, I would be a buyer - not a seller. I had a tough time holding onto several vacant properties over the years - but I continued to pay my loans (never late even once) and am now, for the first time sitting on 100% occupancy. The carrying costs still exceed the income from rent, but the tax writeoffs help offset my income a bit (thankfully I still have a job - but I am UNDER employed because of the economy).

I guess what I want to hear is that maybe I am not the only person who thinks this way. I would like to hear from anyone who has viewpoints, pro and con, with a logical explanation of why or why not I am either going to do OK or I am living in a fantasy world.

Trust me, I am ready to leave the US at the drop of a hat if any kind of revolution, civil war or attempt at socialist takeover begins. Come what may, I would rather be alive with only the clothes on my back in a foreign land than a victim of violence, like those in Russia 1920's-1950's or Germany 1930's-1940's.

My parents escaped communist and nazi tyranny and came to America penniless. They worked like beasts, became citizens and raised a family, never asking for any help or aid along the way. As a kid growing up, I was derisively called a DP by the local kids. I studied hard and got out of that neighborhood, moving to Florida where I continue to have a respectable job (even if only half the income that I used to have).

I fear that all my hard work and saving may not pay for itself. I'm hoping the country straighten's itself out and that my real estate will see a resurrection in value. But I keep a wary eye on DC and hope I don't have to repeat my parent's epic exodus.

Thanks if you have read all this and gotten this far. I had to vent.

    Now, it's your turn.

    • ANSWER:
Having been around a loooong time, I believe gold is grossly overpriced. In the metals mania of the late 1970's when gold topped 00 per ounce, silver was at or a ration of about 17:1. When the metals market crashed gold dropped to less than 0 per ounce and silver to about . Lately gold has been running over 00 and silver only about , that's a ration of 60:1. Either gold is overpriced or silver is underpriced. I think gold is a very bad LONG term investment because I've seen the market do this before. In three years time gold will be 0 - 0 per ounce again. As far as real estate investments go it's location, location, location. I have lost zero value on mine. I live in a rural area that did not see the job losses and foreclosures that metropolitan areas did. There was also very little speculating going on in rural America, that was a big city problem.

    • ANSWER:
      Of course, eBay.

But eBay is more than a place to sell. You can search completed auctions on eBay for the last 15 days to get an idea what the current market will bring in an auction setting.

Condition counts for a lot. Light and focus your pictures well to bring the best return.

There are lots of web pages with free advice. A search term of "auction guru" works great.

  18. QUESTION:
Where will Paul McCartney be staying when he plays at Wrigley Field in Chicago on July 31 & August 1 in 2011?
Paul McCartney will be performing at Wrigley Field in Chicago on July 31 & August 1, 2011 for his "On the Run" Tour and I will be attending his first show at the stadium. I am a young fan of his and the biggest thing that could happen in my life right now is the chance to meet or get an autograph from the famed Beatles and Wings frontman. Please don't think I just want the autograph to sell for money, because you would be worlds away from the truth. I would hold that autograph in such high regard. I would consider it gold. It would be my most prized possession, and I guarantee I will never let it go in my lifetime. It will be willed to my children and my children's children and their children after that. So if anyone has any information on where he might be staying at, and for how long, or if he will be making any public appearances anywhere in the city during his time here, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

  23. QUESTION:
Solution - My wife told me in Gita it teaches to lie if it benefits some one when ask about her affair?
Long story short for 24/7 my wife use to talk about how her brother in law has helped them $$, she married him to migrate to USA. At times my wife does not have money to pay bills that she took responsibility to pay but when her sister invited to visit Chicago she immediately wrote her check, she and my other two sister sold my gold/diamond jewelery to same brother in law who has helped them $$ even after saying not to sale to any one..after arguing she told they will send it back after 2-3 weeks my wife told me to write them check to buy back so i did immediately but they did not mailed me my jewelry and returned when my wife visited Chicago after 1 1/5. Numerous incidents like this once we had argument so one day i asked her if she had affair with her brother in law so she RESPONDED NO AND ALSO SAID IT DOES NOT MATTER AT ALL FOR EVEN IN GITA IT TEACHES TO LIE IF IT BENEFITS SOME ONE.

For kids sake i don't want to divorcee for she cannot teach my 5 1/5 and 8 1/5 yr old kids simple English. when she visited Chicago and stayed at her sister's place my son was about 6 1/5 yrs old she send him alone with her other nephew and MY SON DROWNED AND WAS SAVED BY LIFE GUARD SHOULD MY WIFE have stayed home at her brother in law's house or she should be with my son at the swimming pool...

    • ANSWER:
Your question was difficult to follow, but from what I can tell you are unhappy with your marriage, suspect that your wife may be unfaithful, and worried about your children.

Studies say that children benefit from having two parents (even when they argue) and suffer negative short-term and long-term consequences from divorce.

If you need to find out if your wife is unfaithful, you could hire a private detective. Most people are not very secretive, and are easily discovered. Of course, it would take longer to find out she is innocent.

In either case, you could try to win back her affection by returning to the behavior you probably had when you were trying to win her heart...compliments, devoted time and energy, and refraining from arguing and criticizing.

Pools are incredibly dangerous. Even adults can drown when swimming alone. Perhaps she thought the lifeguard was adequate protection, but it was a great risk. Thankfully he was saved in time. You should get her to agree with you that the children will only swim when a parent is supervising them.

  24. QUESTION:
Will Obama's rockstar power be enough to save taxpayer bank cheat Giannoulias from losing his old senate seat?
Obama’s Thursday afternoon campaign event for Giannoulias, the beleaguered state treasurer of Illinois, reportedly raked in million. Lagging behind his GOP opponent, liberal Republican Rep. Mark Kirk, Giannoulias has coveted one-on-one, grip-and-grin time with Obama for months. In addition to the cash, photo-ops and video of the Obama fundraising event that Giannoulias will milk from now until Election Day, the White House has dispatched Vice President Joe Biden, White House senior adviser David Axelrod and White House campaign management guru David Plouffe to boost Giannoulias’ bid. Plouffe proclaimed Democrats “all in” for Giannoulias, whom he described as “a great progressive champion.”

Obama gave his own personal seal of ethical approval, telling deep-pocketed donors this week: “I appreciate his strong sense of advocacy for ordinary Americans. You can trust him — you can count on him.” Uh-huh. And I’ve got a bridge to Hope and Change to sell you.

    .

What would Giannoulias know about “ordinary Americans”? Giannoulias, 34, befriended Obama during pickup basketball games with an elite group that also included Michelle Obama’s brother, Craig; Chicago edu-crat Arne Duncan (now Education Secretary); and hedge fund manager John Rogers (the ex-husband of the Obamas’ ex-White House social secretary, Desiree Rogers). He spread his wealth and influence around early and often to support Obama’s fledgling political career. He pitched in ,000 in 2003-2004 to Obama’s Illinois State Senate bids. He hosted fundraisers for Obama’s U.S. Senate campaign in 2004 and for his presidential campaign in 2007.

Where’d the cash come from? Giannoulias’ Greek immigrant family founded Chicago-based Broadway Bank, a now-defunct financial institution that loaned tens of millions of dollars to convicted mafia felons and faced bankruptcy after decades of engaging in risky, high-flying behavior. It’s the place where Obama parked his 2004 U.S. Senate campaign funds. And it’s the same place where a mutual friend of Obama and Giannoulias — convicted Obama fundraiser/slum lord Tony Rezko — used to bounce nearly 0,000 in bad checks written to Las Vegas casinos. This week, the Chicago Sun-Times revealed an additional .75 million Broadway Bank loan to a Rezko-owned business in 2006. Giannoulias held an ownership stake in the bank at the time.

Giannoulias served as Broadway Bank vice president and senior loan officer for four years. According to the Chicago Tribune, during Giannoulias’ tenure, some million of Broadway Bank’s funny money went to mob crooks Michael “Jaws” Giorango and Demitri Stavropoulos. Giorango is a hustler who fronted a nationwide prostitution ring and was sentenced to six months in prison; Stavropoulos is behind bars for operating a multistate bookmaking ring. Giorango ran the 0-an-hour call girl operation out of high-rise luxury apartments in Chicago with the infamous “Gold Coast Madam,” Rose Laws. Giorango and Stavropoulos used their Broadway Bank loans to start their own risky lending business for nontraditional borrowers unable to secure traditional bank financing.

Despite Giorango’s criminal record exposed by the Tribune in 2004, Broadway Bank approved massive mortgages for him. Giannoulias’ brother, Demetris, explained that as a “relationship bank,” Broadway wouldn’t just throw someone under the bus because of a “bad article.” Instead, the bank went ahead and rubber-stamped a September 2005 loan for .4 million to buy a 32-unit Los Angeles apartment complex. The application falsely stated that the borrower, Giorango, had “not been convicted of a felony.” Giannoulias oversaw the servicing of such shady loans totaling million. Remember: He was no low-level staffer. He was, as he reminded supporters when he needed to deflect attention away from his youth, top management at Broadway Bank.

In January 2010, the bank entered a consent decree with federal and Illinois state regulators. It required Broadway Bank “to raise tens of millions in capital, stop paying dividends to the family without regulatory approval, and hire an outside party to evaluate the bank’s senior management.” The city’s former inspector general blasted Giannoulias and his family for tapping million worth of dividends in 2007 and 2008 as the real estate crash loomed. Broadway Bank was sitting on an estimated 0 million in bad loans. In late April, federal regulators shut it down. Cost to taxpayers: an estimated 0 million. Giannoulias refused to drop out of the race — and instead used the company failure to argue that it made him more qualified to serve in office: “I have a renewed vigor and a new perspective on just how horrible it is out there for so many people.”

  25. QUESTION:
    Econ Paper?
is this good for an econ paper about richard sears?

Richard Sears was born on December 7, 1863 in Stewartville, Minnesota. He started working at a young age, due to his father’s failed stock-farm undertaking. After studying telegraphy, Sears got a job working at the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railroad, and later became a station agent. While working his job, he saw many shipments come through that hadn’t been asked for. This was a scam that was becoming more and more popular. Wholesalers would ship their already high-priced products to potential retailers who hadn’t ordered them. When they refused to buy them, the wholesaler would offer a lower price to the retailer, telling them that it would cost them that money to ship them back anyways. Thinking they were getting a bargain, the retailer would purchase the goods.

In 1886, when Sears was 23, a retailer refused to buy gold watches from a wholesaler, and Sears jumped at the opportunity. He attained permission to sell the watches, giving the wholesaler profits over . He had no trouble selling the watches to fellow agents, who could easily sell them to travelers. Sears earned ,000 after just six months, and became very confident. He moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and started the R.W. Sears Watch Company. He made successful promotional advertisements, focusing mainly on appealing to rural customers. Sears proved to be a natural businessman.

Next, Sears moved his business to Chicago, Illinois. In addition, he hired his first employee, Alvah Curtis Roebuck, a watch repairman.

    • ANSWER:
I'm a major English nerd, so please forgive my pickiness ;-) Haha.

The first thing I noticed is your introduction. Try to make your first sentence (or even a very short first paragraph) more of an "interest-getter". This means starting out with an attention-grabbing statement that will get your reader into your paper from the start. Beginning with "Richard Sears was born on..." isn't bad, it just doesn't grab the reader's attention. If you can begin by showing your reader WHY they should read this, what benefits they will reap from taking time out of their day to consider your paper, the paper will automatically look and sound much better.

One thing you did a marvalous job on, though, is your use of varying sentence structures. None of your sentences are cookie-cutter copies of eachother. It keeps your interest through the paper!

In your third paragraph, you begin the first sentence with "next" and the second with "in addition." Perhaps you could try to either combine those two sentences, or create a new beginning for one of them. Suggestion: "Sears next moved his business to Chicago, Illinois where he hired his first employee, Alvah Curtis Roebuck, a watch repairman."

Now, to qualify everything I have just said: Your essay is good. You sound knowledgable of the subject, and you have an excellent style of writing. The above points are merely suggestions, but certainly not necessary to turn in a good paper :-D Good luck!

  26. QUESTION:
This is not religious but only question in the religious section get answers so what do you think about this?
You have the red cabinet and the blue cabinet in the government which are the colors used by bloods and crips and most gangs from chicago use a pentagram or a hexagram for their symbols which are alchemical symbols used by free masons and the number 13 is a sacred number to alchemists and free masons which a lot of hispanic gangs use in the name of their gangs like MS-13 and Sur-13 they also use hand shakes and hand signs as a way of identifying legitimate members just like the free masons do and they have to go through initiations just like the free masons do. Also take into consideration that most of the large black gangs in America came out of Chicago and LA, both areas that had a strong Black Panther presence in the '70s so they were both places the next Martin or Malcolm were likely to come from, so what better way to stop this from happening than to make the next Martin or Malcolm a genocidal, ignorant gang member
Is this all just coincidence or conspiracy?
Did the free masons influence or even create gang culture?
Wouldn't this be the perfect form of genocide?

for those of you who think this is a bogus accusation think about the influence rap has over inner city youth, who controls rap, the media, who controls the media, the free masons. All it would take is for a couple of blacks themselves to sell out for money and fame, which a lot do, then come back to the community with this new culture and the blacks accept it as their culture happens all the time, i didn't know any body with gold fronts in their mouths until Cash Money started flashing theirs all over the tv now almost everyone I know has them.
"Sell me your soul and live the life of a ghetto star"~Tupac
if people have such a problem with my question don't answer it you no life having a** holes

    • ANSWER:
You are actually asking several questions, which I will address as individual points. I see the trail you are following, and how at face value one could draw such conclusions, but the connections are really quite flawed due to incomplete or assumed knowledge used to fill in the blanks.

Red and blue as used to identify political parties or leanings is fairly new, much newer than the use of those colors by the gang culture. It didn't even exist when I started voting, and the red vs blue thing isn't even true of gang culture anymore.

I've been a street gang specialist for 15 years, the use of pentagrams and hexagrams are not as prevalent as you seem to think among gangs, although there is regional use of both. There is no Masonic symbolism or meaning to a hexagram at all, and an inverted 5 point star (different from a "pentagram") has only limited use and not by Masonry itself but by related organizations. At any rate, this use as related to Masonry long predates any use of pentagrams or inverted stars by any nefarious organization. As a symbol the pentagram has a long history of use by many cultures and groups, including the Christian church, which is the source from which those Masonic organizations actually adopted it.

Freemasonry does not have "sacred numbers". The number 13 means nothing in Masonry. Also, freemasonry has no relation to alchemy in the popular sense of the word.

There is no relation between Masonry and rap/hip-hop music. The references being made fail to actually take into account that many of the "Masonic" lyrics are actually anti-Masonic statements. Interviews I myself have conducted on the subject with incarcerated gang members indicate that Masonry, (especially Prince Hall Masonry of which the majority of its members are black) is hated among the inner-city gang culture as being a "white thing"- Black Masons are branded as "uncle toms" and have even been physically attacked by street gangs. (Black Panthers were to an extent, anti-Mason.) The apparent connection between Masonry and rap, as advertised on youtube etc.- and the truth of that connection are two very different things. One thing for sure though, those rap artists using Masonic references to portray themselves as being part of something dark and mysterious are sell-outs, doing and saying anything they think will turn them a buck. But nary a one of them is actually a Mason, or knows squat about Freemasonry.

As for hand signs, handshakes etc., every college frat, social fraternity, religious group etc. has the same thing, and has for thousands of years. Nothing special, just human nature.

  27. QUESTION:
What do you think of my Mock Draft (rate it)?
    1. Rams – Ndamukong Suh, DT Nebraska – Arguably the best defensive player in the history of college football. Unfortunately, this is the last time you hear his name as he falls into the inglorious black hole of mediocrity known as St. Louis. Other than that, I love the team.

    2. Lions – Dez Bryant, WR Oklahoma State – After realizing that bad publicity is better than no publicity, the Lions revert to the Matt Millen Era of drafting 4 receivers in 5 years. Meanwhile Detroit fans wonder why they aren’t Browns fans. Oh yeah. Nevermind.

    3. Bucs – Gerald McCoy, DT Oklahoma – I have nothing bad to say about the guy. Mainly because he is right behind me and can easily beat me up, or at the very least pay someone to do it for him. Does that work for ya, Gerald? Good.

    4. Redskins – Jimmy Clausen, QB Notre Dame – Danny Boy continues Washington’s string of drafting bad quarterbacks in the first round. Welcome to an elite fraternity, Jimmy. Somehow I don’t think Heath Shuler, Patrick Ramsey, and Jason Campbell are sipping champagne on his behalf.

    5. Chiefs – Eric Berry, S Tennessee – He is considered the best safety since Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu. Unfortunately, the Chiefs still finish the season 4-12.

    6. Seahawks – Sam Bradford, QB Oklahoma – The Seahawks exchange a 35-year old quarterback with a quarterback that has shoulders of a 35-year old. How could that possibly fail?

    7. Browns – Russell Okung, OT Oklahoma State – Since I’m relatively positive that no one actually cares about this pick, I’m going to use this time to say that I’m pretty sure Bernie from “Weekend at Bernie’s” works out at my gym. Seriously. Dead likeness. Sorry, I had to tell someone.

    8. Raiders – Drew Butler, P Georgia – After reading a blog on the internet, Al Davis is convinced that field position is the ultimate factor into winning in the NFL. Who better to do that than this past year’s Ray Guy Award winner? Ray Guy…former Raiders punter. Butler…the Ray Guy Award winner. Coincidence? Of course not.

    9. Bills – Anthony Davis, OT Rutgers – Confession #1: I have no idea who Anthony Davis is. Confession #2: I had no idea the city of Buffalo still had a football team. My soul is now cleansed. Okay then…moving on…

    10. Broncos (from Chicago Bears) – Rolando McClain, LB Alabama – This pick was acquired in the trade that sent Jay Cutler to Chicago for Kyle Orton. Let’s be honest. A bag of Cheetos would be a better pick here than keeping Cutler, so anything more and you’ve scored gold. The Broncos, as expected, don’t go with the bag of chips and draft the best linebacker in college football last year instead.

    11. Jaguars – Tim Tebow, QB Florida – This is solely a pick to help sell tickets. I mean, after all, the city of Jacksonville couldn’t even sell out the Super Bowl. No word if Planned Parenthood is editing an anti-Tebow video for their website. Meanwhile, head coach Jack Del Rio wonders why he didn’t take the USC coaching job. One word, Jack: Probation.

    12. Dolphins – Dan LeFevour, QB Central Michigan – Bill Parcells decides to build an offense around the rare Triple Wildcat formation all while gaining the impressive distinction of using a high draft pick on a QB in 4 consecutive years. Miami still finishes 8-8 and misses the playoffs.

    13. 49ers – Joe Haden, CB Florida. Does anyone else miss the Niners’ glory days of Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Ronnie Lott, Roger Craig, Steve Young...I really could go on forever…Ken Norton, Dwight Clark, John Taylor, Eric Davis, Merton Hanks…?

    14. Seahawks – Joe McKnight, RB USC – Not realizing he is no longer a college coach, Pete Carroll gets in a recruiting war with LSU over the services of Joe McKnight. Carroll’s mistake is McKnight’s gain as he gets a lucrative deal worth millions more than what he deserves. Far less than what he made at USC.

    15. Giants – C.J. Spiller, RB Clemson – Carroll’s mistake is New York’s gain as they draft the most electrifying running back in college football. No need to fear, Pete. Tom Coughlin will sap the fun out of his game by the preseason.

    16. 49ers – Bryan Bulaga, OT Iowa – Don’t be surprised to see the 49ers trade this pick to the Saints for overpaid Reggie Bush, making it the Gore-Bush backfield. Sadly, this joke came 10 years too late. Better late than never.

    17. Titans – Everson Griffen, DE USC – Owner Bud Adams makes the bold claim of “All we need is another weapon for Vince Young and we will win the Super Bowl.” He then flips off the fans and drafts a defensive end. Makes sense to me.

    18. Steelers – Brian Price, DT UCLA – Word on the street is Price is the best UCLA Bruin since Cade McNown. Oh dear Lord!

    19. Falcons – Earl Thomas, S Texas – Some experts think he could make the Pro Bowl as a rookie. Let me see, Justin Smith: Pro Bowler. Terence Newman: Pro Bowler. David Garrard: Pro Bowler. Quintell Mickell: Pro Bowler.
are people in this section that stupid? This question is an attempt at humour, but I guess some people just dont see it.

    • ANSWER:
My first reaction was WTF? Then I continued to read and realized what a gifted sense of humor you possess. Well Done!!

  28. QUESTION:
Do you think the free masons implemented gangs as a form of ethnic cleansing?
You have the red cabinet and the blue cabinet in the government which are the colors used by bloods and crips and most gangs from chicago use a pentagram or a hexagram for their symbols which are alchemical symbols used by free masons and the number 13 is a sacred number to alchemists and free masons which a lot of hispanic gangs use in the name of their gangs like MS-13 and Sur-13 they also use hand shakes and hand signs as a way of identifying legitimate members just like the free masons do and they have to go through initiations just like the free masons do.

"Sell me your soul and live the life of a ghetto star"~Tupac

    • ANSWER:
      Nope.

There is no red or blue cabinet in government.

What the bloods and the crips do is of little to no consequence to anyone but the bloods and the crips.

Most gangs from chicago don't use a pentagram or a hexagram.

Freemasons don't use alchemical symbols, they use Masonic symbols.

The number 13 is a sacred number to a whole bunch of different groups.

MS-13's '13' comes from a prison gang, not from some sacred number. Same with Sur-13.

The initiations that a gang member goes through is nothing at all like the initiation that a Freemason goes through. I spent a goodly amount of time in L.A. growing up, and can tell you that being jumped in is significantly different than being raised.

      Is it a coincidence? No.

      it is a conspiracy? No.

Is it crazy? Yes. But you knew that before you adjusted your tinfoil hat, didn't you?

I don't believe that what you've written is a bogus accusation; I think it's utter nonsense written by someone who knows nothing of gangs, nothing of Freemasonry, nothing of ethnic cleansing, nothing about music, nothing about the media, and nothing about people you refer to as "blacks."

What are you, other than an idiot racist?

And, finally ... you wrote absolutely nothing about the 'ethnic cleansing.' Where's that bit so I can laugh at your stupidity even more?

  29. QUESTION:
Would you go back to the woman you fled from for half a grain of intellect and wine? A long poem for you all?
Today the man is thy master and the tops of the city skyscrapers are piercing the skies red,
Today I wander amongst the tin bins and human ashtrays and wonder aloud,
“What man you live like sh*t, go make a livin’ selling on the corner,
Provide for the woman you shelter under concrete overhangs and apartment flats.
Go, go, go proclaim your love f’her, sleep betwixt the sheets and love!”
Hail you, taxi gleamin’ yellow and chrome silver and red light fixtures,
Give a ride to your fellow man.
Hail to the commander in chief—smokin’ big rolled tobacco and chewin’
As I scrawl a thousands miles away on the pavement and big city banks
Weeping and snuggling on the banks of the bay of pigs in Chicago and
N-ew Y-o-r-k bea-u-ties, all dressed to kill in their pearls and satin, Jesus
I’m in love a fool for the city and her liveliest scores performed in big draping concert halls,
I wonder how I could have left you here, alone,
All alone to bemoan another loss another kill alone, alone,
Left to wander for kicks get stoned smacked
A hundredfold by a paper bag,
Boy, I stand across from the flats, kickin’ garbage and pacing
Waiting for a face to show forth behind the drapes,
They’re satin and purple an’ gold intertwined for the den of royalty
And here I stand waiting for the face I loved to leave behind
For kicks and intellects, glasses and sleeves,
Morphine and sweating genius backseat to half-a-grain prodigies
Who shout and yell and sell and live and scream “Sh*t! I’m
Dreaming I died and why do I enjoy it so!”
To drinks under the skylines and late night cafeterias drinking coffee
And contemplating the late night radio being blasted over intercoms:
Did you know Russia killed a journalist today? He died pledging toilet paper
And oil for all the poor folk. Know why he was shot?
Them Russians fear socialism uprisings, almost as badly as we
Fear the DPRK and her nuclear ambitions and holy rosaries—O,
A shame a shame, a living crying shame on two legs and with dangling genitals,
Life hath dealt a shameful hand,
I weep and drag menthol and glimpse a pay phone to fog up the glass,
And frame a smiley face with a pose that would make
    Yabyum lovers blush—
To hell I say! Love is a scam! I say it is so because no woman pines
For my thighs as I yearn for hers,
No woman wants to love a man with naught but 2.35 in his jacket pocket,
Woman wants big man! Woman wants man to take her out! Woman wants midnight lovin’! I’m sleeping dear, let’s fuck in the morning.
Alas, I’m a loveless soul with a sorrowful halo of angels and smiling gods
To keep me afloat in this love tempest,
Woe! O!—a cross in the heart for Lawrence Callahare! A wine glass up front
For the distraught and may the radio refrain from its loving—“There will never be,
    Another you”—
    _________________________________________________

An explanation of this poem is needed, I think:
First, the poem centers around a man who goes back to New York in search of the woman he left behind. The man expresses his regret and sadness in the first few lines of this, and the rest is interspersed throughout the poem. He sees the homeless man and orders him to go back to his wife that he ran away from--this emphasizes his sudden awareness of what he has done. It must also be said that when he returns to New York, he has become something of an addict to various substances, such as the morphine stated in the poem above. The poem then proceeds to tell about his various doings and adventures, but ultimately finds him standing across the street from the home where the woman he left behind now lives. He struggles to go over and see her, eventually despairing and giving up to stroll around the city and finding ways to mess himself up. Ultimately, he gives up, crying out "a cross in the heart for Lawrence Callahare! A wine glass up front
For the distraught and may the radio refrain from its loving—“There will never be, Another you”—

I included this information because the structure of the poem is intentionally chaotic in structure, much as the random fleeting thoughts of a man with a burdened conscience. Thank you for reading.
Also, this was not the intentioned structure I intended for the poem. The structure was actually planned out and constructed to keep in time with the ramblings of the man, however I could not keep the original structure for the one posted here because for some reason Yahoo!Answers won't allow me to. Oh well, just keep in mind that what you are reading isn't necessarily the whole picture.

    • ANSWER:
Your explanation for the poem was not needed for me. I got that ... I mean - the leaving, the trip, the long journey back, the regret projected onto others.
Your second additional details about structure - yeah, I think you need to explain that to some. I get it now, but ... you know what I was thinking before.
I love this story and again you painted a wonderful albeit dismal picture in my head.

@ Don't Trip on that Rock- I know it doesn't have to rhyme, it's just that there is always some person who has to throw a literature fit because the poem doesn't rhyme. I just wanted to put that out there so that those kind of people knew, if that makes sense.

    • ANSWER:
You know poems don't have to rhyme. Its called literature. Its pretty good. I liked it.

  31. QUESTION:
honest Question who has the best fans in football? And dont just pick your cities team.?
Most dedicated fans, good or bad records, the fans who still care. Loudest, greatest traditions, and the weather they are willing to go to games in? like negatives degrees sometimes. And dont say New Orleans, cause we all know this may be the first year in a while New Orleans even knew they had a football team. So who has the best fans?
Green Bay packers? Great tradition, even in freezing temps, and they dont care about records, theyll sell out.
Cleveland Browns? In whatever the temp is snowing or not, they show up, lost there team 3 years 95-98, and they wouldnt believe it, and got them back. 2 seasons with a winning record in a decade, and they still represent the dog pound.
Pittsburgh Steelers? Cold temps, but a great football team, too their fans I dont think it would matter if they did sux. also terrible towel good tradition.
Chicago Bears? Idk y i put them in but cold city, and windy, and they are an old franchise.
Minnesota Vikings? These fans bleed gold and purple, and they never miss a game in the metrodome.
Oakland Raiders? There team has sucked lately, although they did have succes in the early 2000's, but the black hole is still in Oakland.Great costumes too.
Washington Redskins? The pig noses. I dont know where they pick this up from considering there team name is the redskins. but these fans show up snow or sunny, and they go ll out.
New England Pats? Well we dont know if they would be good fans or not if they had a bad team, but we know the entire area of new england from Boston to maine watchs these guys and dedicates there sundays to them, and they have the worst winters in any nfl season.
Buffalo Bills? The city of uffalo alot like Cleveland both on Lake Erie, so they know what cold is, although I wouldnt compare the bills fans to the Browns, you can find a Browns fan anywhere in the USA, there are more fans for them out of state actually. But Bills still go back awhile.
Other team? or one of these what do you think?
And dont say something stupid like New york jets or giants, or san Fransisco or miami. Cause they dont.

    • ANSWER:
However organised and meticulous u are, u will not be able to conclusivly prove anything. if u are convinced internally by assessing the whole thing dispassionatly, why do want to prove that she is lying?Even if u prove, do u mean ur wife will improve or be careful in future? Certainly not. such a change of heart is seen only in movies. In reality, a lier remains a liar. once u prove her lying, she will not take it lying down. Even if apprantly she takes it lying down, she will devise more crooked ways of operating.
U can prove that she is a lier and a manipulator only if u have decided mentally to call off the relationship. In such circumstances, u will hace to spend money by hiring a service of private detective to nail her down with conclusive evidence. However if u want to stay with her, then this method will generate only bitterness.Think twice before u take this course of action.
There is a saying -- when rape is inevitable , lie down and enjoy. If u still want to stay with such a lady then accept all these things as inevitable.

    • ANSWER:
The best way to find out is to go to e-bay, and see what these are selling for.
Generally, unless an album is unopened, rare, or a special edition (such as a DJ promo or a special color, like the Beatle's "White Album" that is actually white in color), it isn't worth very much.

But there are lots of exceptions, so either do your research, or get a reputable dealer to have a look.

  35. QUESTION:
    Engagement ring!!!!!!?
Ok, so I'm engaged, but I proposed on my gf's birthday w/o a ring, because she has really strict standards when buying stuff, and I thought it would be better to shop for a ring together. Well, fortunately, for me, my family is pretty wealthy(my grandfather owned a big oil mine, and sold it for a good deal and we had some senators in the family tree)and I'm currently a corporate lawyer, so I don't really have to worry much about whether I can pay it off or not. My gf graduated from U of Chicago, majored in finance, she is currently working at Goldman Sachs, and earns approximately 2 million a year, and has a one bed room(lives alone) apartment in Carnegie Hill. She also has about half a million in her bank account right now. This is what confuses me. We've been dating for years, and she has never shown interest for money. She is quite wealthy on her own. She always used her money for clothes, shoes, cosmetics...etc. Dating, she bought me noticeably more gifts than I did for her, and she always offered to pay. She doesn't seem like a gold digger and I know she loves me, but when we went ring shopping she said she wanted a Tiffany diamond ring that was 10.53 carats, Clarity grade VS1,and Color grade E. She said she liked a pear shaped Harry Winston too(I can't remember this one very well, but it was somewhere around 5.6 carats). But, she said she loooooooooved the tiffany. I mean, she is sophisticated, beautiful, financially stable, and worth every dime I have, but I'm just confused a little. What should I do?
Oh, she said "You may not understand it, and I don't expect you to, but this is very important to me. You know I never wanted you to buy me designer bags, clothes, I didn't care about where we dined, but for some girls rings are very important. I want to feel worthy of a ten carat diamond." Not an exact quote, but sth like that.

    • ANSWER:
I feel you are correct in all the areas. The only but is real estate has hit is lows over the past 50 years and has some how come back to it high, it just takes time. If the country does go into collapse what are you going to do with gold? I am thinking someone would just kill you for it, so I would not put much into gold or silver no more then you would on a normally given basses.
