     It depends on how small of a diamond we are talking about. Most jewelry stores don't really buy used jewelry anymore. A few things I would consider though:
     craigslist. No cost to sell but would only be local
     Ebay: fees associated and an adult would have to register for you
     Pawn shop. They will buy it but most likely screw you
     Newspaper: kind of an antiquated method but it costs less
     Consignment shop: just a step above a pawn shop

      You can use eBay, Etsy is more for handmade stuff, or materials to make crafts, if you put finished jewelry that is not been made by you, they could close your store or give you a warning

      There are as many answer to this question as there are department stores. I would try the smaller stores which will be based on consignment.

      I just sounds like a difficult way to make money to me.

      Hi, I live in Davis Park FI (part time) and you DO need a permit to sell jewelry at the annual crafts fair but you don't if it's out of your home. Since you wouldn't be selling it from home you probably do need a permit. However, despite this, I really highly doubt anyone would stop you or that the police would make you shut down shop. Even college kids sell jewelry by the benches near the harbor store in Davis Park and they don't have permits.

      Hi. I know others have already suggested places like Ebay to get started, and this might be a good way to begin. You can even create your own Ebay store, and for a modest fee per month you can maintain your own little fixed price store, plus it will show any regular auction style listings you put up as well. It's a good start for a small business that doesn't want to hassle with setting up their own site. Blogger is really clunky and you won't sell as well using them.

      If you do want a site of your own, don't waste time with the "freebie" sites; basically all you'll get for free is one or two pages, no capabilities to buy or checkout online, and visitors will be bombarded with pop up ads. If you want a good site, you'll have to invest some money.

      I recommend a site like iBuilder...the prices are competitive, you can start out small, and they have different levels of service that you can upgrade as your business grows. You can add functionalities like a shopping cart, credit card payments, etc. if desired, or you can set it up your own way. They have a lot of templates that are ready to go also. I manage a small collectibles related business and set up our site through them. You can buy a domain name of your own if you wish, as well (we did), though you don't have to. You can go to their site and check it out yourself at ibuilder.com. Our site right now is mostly informational for the time being, but I'm going to do some mods to it soon. If you want to see it, just to get an idea of what an ibuider template looks like, check out westlakerarecoins.com .

      As far as mailing lists, you can go to a search engine and see what comes up...a problem with the free or low cost lists is that you get what you pay for; most of the addresses are bad or dead. Again, if you want good quality lists you'll have to spend a few bucks. I'd do some research online and see what's out there.

    When I am searching for a certain catagory I find all the items listed in catagory that the seller sells. My catagory shows only jewelry but I also sell clothing.     This is on the web page where all my auctions I have for sale are lsted. To the left of the page there is a column that will have at the top a division of the different catagories that you sell like clothing, Jewelry, birds or Videos. Mine was listed as costume jewelry for Vintage Jewelry which I sell along with new clothing. This can hurt a seller if a buyer do not see the right catagories.
    My auctions are on Yahoo the entire question centers around Yahoo Auctions. I cannot answer nmy own question because I tried everything possible except kill my computer.

      I would recommend that you start off with similar products, meaning Jewellery and Acssessories.

      This is because it is better to target a few specific market segments and may specialise in them, rather than trying to covering too many. However, if it is going well, why not adding clothing to your merchandise on a later stage.

      An other reason is that clothing is a delicate fashion item which may be quite hard to sell online since people may like to try them on before purchasing...size, shape etc....

      Do you already have your business name?
      Shop around and see what other handmade jewelry looks like, as well as how much it is selling for. You want to make sure that you are pricing your product properly, and make sure that it is marketable. How is your jewelry different than others(this is what you should ask and answer yourself)?
      After that, I would look into a resellers license.
      From that point, I would create my own contract(you can find consignment contract forms online),this is for small shops.
      Then,after that with business cards, brochures (all made at home or Vista Print) market your product and approach shops about your product. As you go, you will learn more.
      Write down your goals and you can accomplish them!!

      Honestly, Do not do that on Facebook. You can get in some legal issues like that. I would start your own website on like google's free website thing or buy a domain from godady.com. Also, put some advertisements in the news paper and on the internet on other forums that help with that and make some business cards for it. Take pictures and show people and go to a flea market and sell some or try too. Also a good way is to start telling others.

      A lot of private (not chains) jewelers don't buy from the public. There is usually a triple keystone on jewelry that the public buys. Divide what you spent on jewelry by three (sometimes even more) and that is what the jeweler spent on it. So, one would tell you your ,000 is only worth ,000. That is what it is. When we are asked to apraise, we just go by what the value acually is. What is gold that day 0 an ounce? Platinum 00 an ounce? Ask to have it weighed in penney weights and get the actual price of its REAL worth. Diamonds, what grade? What karat? Add it up and hopefully you can find a private buyer willing to pay for it. You will rarely if not ever get a buyer that will buy it the price you paid. You may want to go to a local jeweler and see if they know some private estate sellers and auctions. I suggest Houston or Dallas... you could send it there. Good luck... and never ever take it to a pawn shop... your best bet is to sell to a friend!

    I have valuable jewelry I need to sell, but not at hock shop prices (1/4 of the value). Real Simple magazine had an article a few years ago about some online consignment shops that were trustworthy, but I haven't been able to find that issue.
