Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
Best place to sell unwanted gold jewelry?
I need to sell a lot of unwanted scrap gold jewelry (earrings, watches and necklaces). What is the safest and highest paying gold refiner?
I'm looking to sell gold in my city if possible.

    • ANSWER:
You can not sell your gold directly to a refiner unless you are a jewelry or dealer and have proper licences. I am a refiner who buys from jewelers and dealers as well as the public. I do not pay the public as much as jewelers and dealers for these two reasons.

      1) When buying from the public the law states that I must hold all items for 15 days before selling/melting them. In those 15 days gold, or silver has the potential to drop ALOT! Additionally, my money gets tied up for 15 days when buying from the public. When I buy gold or silver from dealers or jewelers I can melt it that same day, thus there is no risk of losing profit from gold or silver dropping since it is melted the same day it is bought.

      2) Unless you have a large amount of gold or silver it isn't profitable for us to buy from you. We don't mind making .25 cents profit per gram if you have 1,000 grams of gold but it doesn't pay to make 25 cents profit per gram if you are selling 100 grams of gold. That is only profit from laying out 00. There are expenses and lots of them, most people don't realize it's a business and we need to make money too.

On the other hand there are plenty of places ripping people off. With gold at 3 per ounce you should take no less than a gram for 10k, a gram for 14k and a gram for 18k.

I buy from people all over America. I can buy it from you if you know the exact weight of your gold and silver. I can pay you via paypal even before you ship it out.

DO NOT USE CASH4GOLD.COM, GOLDKIT.COM, GOLDPAQ.COM OR ANY OF THOSE COMMERCIAL TYPE SITES!!!!!!! THEY ARE A HUGGGGE SCAM!!!!

Call me if you want to sell your items to my company. The number is 877-487-1386.

  2. QUESTION:
Where is the best place to sell unwanted gold?
There seems to be a sign outside every jewellers, and 'stands' cropping up in every shopping centre offering to buy old and unwanted gold. But where do you go to get the best price for your unwanted gold?

    • ANSWER:
My daughter researched this and found Hatton Garden Metals on moneysavingexpert.com and we've just sold some bits and pieces there. It seems to be the best one, you have to weigh the stuff and enter the carat and they give you the estimate online. Then you post it off and you can either get paid by cheque or straight into your bank account.

  3. QUESTION:
when you sell unwanted gold jewelry, how much do they pay you. Gold is at ,208 per ounce?
How close do they pay for instance if you sell then an ounce of unwanted gold jewelry.

    • ANSWER:
You are looking at the price at which it is traded - that is raw, unprocessed without factoring in the labour price, shipping, import, export and all the other costs associated with making jewellery. Also, in time, gold wears off and it will lose some of its weight. Having said that, you most likely will not receive 1,208 per ounce if you were to take your jewellery in. Assessment depends on many factors, one of the most important ones of which is the honesty of the person assessing your jewellery. It's their business to make a profit obviously, and you can get easily scammed. Before making a final decision I would suggest you shop around. Go to several places and get different quotes just make sure you don't tell them about it.
      Best of luck!

  4. QUESTION:
Is it profitable to sell the unwanted gold online for cash?
I have lots of unwanted & broken gold.Should I take it to an independent dealer? OR should I sell them online??

    • ANSWER:
I think it is profitable to sell your gold online.

Generally you're not dealing with an unknown person if you sell it to a reputable company or website. Many people would not get success in selling the gold. This problem arises due to the emerging of hundreds of gold companies in the online market. You must be ready to sell gold for cash when they are not in use.Find a buyer who sends you the cash right back.

There are several gold buyers online who give you cash for your gold. You can check out the reviews section and choose the company that you think would give the best offer for your gold.

  5. QUESTION:
WHERE CAN I SELL MY UNWANTED GOLD JEWELRY WITHOUT THE MIDDLEGUY?
I have heard of alot of people going around and buying up old jewelry for prices that are less then current market value and taking it to a location that offers a little more for it. I live in the Bay Area and would like to find out where I can take my gold to sell without the middle man.

    Any suggestions???

    • ANSWER:
There are at least three options that are available to sell your gold jewelry.

      1. At a pawn shop - Yuck!
      2. At a jewelry store - Better
      3. Online to a Cash for Gold Buyer

I have researched and found more than 200+ online gold buyers and there are three top, honest companies that I send all of my family and friends to. The top three on GoldVox.com have at least an "A" rating with the BBB. That means they resolve every customers concern, and have had minimal to zero complaints.

Check out http://www.goldvox.com and read some of the customer reviews and BBB ratings for several companies. They all buy gold through the mail and the top buyers pay very close to market price. It sounds unsafe to even consider mailing your gold but a lot of people have had great success with the programs.

Good luck and I hope you find a good deal! Gold is paying great these days!

  13. QUESTION:
Hi i`m wanting to sell some unwanted gold jewellery does anyone no if you get more for it by pawning it?

    • ANSWER:
Just to clarify - "pawning" or using a pawnbroker is not selling your stuff. It is a way of borrowing money. You take out a loan and use valuable posessions as collatarol. Some pawnbrokers do also buy jewellery mind.

Nothing wrong with wanting to sell unused items, gold prices are through the roof at the moment so it can be worth your while - particularly if its just sitting in a box somewhere.

Assuming you are in the UK I suggest you visit a few local jewellers - independent ones, not chain stores like H Samuel - (they often say "we buy unwanted gold" in the window). Get a few quotes and see. In bigger cities like London & Birmingham there are segments of the city devoted to jewellry making so you shoud be able to get a good price if you can make it to them!

  14. QUESTION:
Is there a good website to sell gold?
I want to sell my unwanted gold but all the websites I go to want me to call and verify. When I really just want to put my gold in a envolpe and send it, and get my money the next day. If anyone can help i would really apreciate it

    • ANSWER:
Prices change, sometimes -/ounce in a day. Of course they want you to verify! They want to see what you have, whether it's really gold, or gold plated tin. After they look it over and decide how much gold is in it, they offer you a price, fair or not. If you accept the price, they mail you a check.

If they did not do it this way, you might decide the check was not big enough. If they have already melted your gold down, the options are limited. This way if you don't like the offer, they send your stuff back.

  15. QUESTION:
I have some unwanted Gold rings. Where is the best place to sell them?
I understand there is a Global recession at the moment (credit crunch) so the price I will get will reflect this.
Can I ask if I take them to somewhere like Ramsdens jewellers (They buy and sell 2nd hand jewelry) will they just offer me pennies for them
    Thank you for your answers.

    • ANSWER:
Whatever you do, PLEASE don't use one of these rip-off websites that so generously send you a pre-paid envelope to send them your gold. Go to a few different jewellers and take the best offer.

  16. QUESTION:
How much money can i actually get when I sell broken gold?
I have lots of unwanted & broken gold. And want to sell some old gold pieces. And I know that the places to sell gold is endless....And, know that gold is trading at an all time high, I think its over 0.00 an ounce. How much can I expect to get from a dealer if I have an ounce of gold? Should I take it to a pawn shop or an independent dealer? OR should I sell them online?? Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Never sell your gold to a pawn shop or jeweler. They are just going to turn around and sell what they bought from you to a precious metals refinery for more money than they paid you. I would recommend sending your gold straight to the source. Many precious metals refineries out there are buying gold directly from the public and paying way more than a pawn shop or jeweler. Shop around for refineries posting their prices for individuals. I would recommend looking at Metallix Direct Gold. The have their prices posted daily and offer free shipping and insurance.

  17. QUESTION:
where is the best place to sell my unwanted gold jewelry?
    rings

  18. QUESTION:
What should I do with unwanted gold jewelry?
Including items that are broken or damaged? Is it better to sell the gold for cash or have it fashioned into a new piece of jewelry?
Serious answers only please...don't answer just for points.

    • ANSWER:
You certainly could attempt to sell the items to a jeweler and reap some cash back on that transaction. However, I think it would be nice to have the gold melted down and fashioned into a new piece for yourself.. perhaps a nugget charm or a nice signet ring. Depending on what you are having melted, the jeweler can tell you what can be created. Also, since you are providing the gold, the cost of fashioning a new item should be minimal. Be aware though, you should take it to an upstanding jeweler.. perhaps one that your family has used for sometime.

  20. QUESTION:
Can somebody explain why everyones gone crazy buying and selling gold?
Every advert is to sell your 'unwanted gold' i never saw all these adverts before whats going on best answer 10 points x

    • ANSWER:
The price of gold is going up fast. The ads are to get you to sell your gold to them now so they can re-sell it later after the price has gone up.

  21. QUESTION:
Cash4Gold: Has anyone here used Cash4Gold to sell gold, platinum, or silver?
I know Cash4Gold is a refiner who buys unwanted gold for cash.

    • ANSWER:
Correct. Cash4Gold is a refiner who is open to the public. They buy any unwanted gold, silver, and platinum jewelry at extremely competitive market values. They cut out the middleman and take out the hassle of nickel and diming with a jewlery store or a pawn shop for your gold.

Having researched much of this, Cash4Gold offers 5% more than their leading competitor for unwanted gold. The fact that they are a refiner really shows just how much more money they can give back to the consumer. I tried their service just to see and got the Cash4Gold Refiner's Gold Pack sent to my home. I sent them an old gold bracelet and got 7 dollars sent back to me. I was so surprised to see that because frankly, I didn't think it was worth that much. The process that they have is really great though and its a service definitely worth using. They are a legitimate company who is listed at #129 on the Inc 500 list. I also found out that if you are unsatisfied with the value of your jewlery, Cash4Gold gives you 10 days to ask for it back with no questions asked.

My final verdict is that in today's market and with the record going rate for gold it would be wise to cash in on any unwanted gold, platinum, or silver with Cash4Gold. I wouldn't deal with anyone but the refiner.

  22. QUESTION:
Why so many 'sell your gold' adverts on TV at the moment?
I'm in the UK, and all of a sudden I'm seeing multiple versions of these 'do you have unwanted gold in your house? Send it to us and we'll give you loads of money..' etc etc.

Why all of a sudden, are all of these adverts appearing?

    • ANSWER:
Because we're in the middle of a recession. Companies like these generally prey on individuals who are having financial problems; if you notice, the commercials make it sound like you send them a necklace, they send you serious money. Well, Good Morning America did a feature on the industry about 2 months ago; they had gold valued by a reputable appraiser. Sent it to the top 3 "buy your gold" advertisers; in one case, the amount offered was only about 1/4 of its actual worth. It's just another con artist game.

  23. QUESTION:
where in se ireland can i sell my unwanted jewellery?
does anyone know where i can sell all my old gold rings etc, in waterford, ireland or surrounding area , thanks for your help, and happy new year to all.

    • ANSWER:
I done a search for pawnbrokers in Waterford and I couldn't find any as such, I think there is a CashConverters on O'Connell St in Waterford, they'll cash in your jewelery for you but they most likely wont give you what you feel its worth. Ive searched on a few sites and it appears that there are only three proper pawn shops listed all of which are in Dublin.

Try cash converters and if you happen to be up in Dublin, I would recommend Kearn's Pawnbrokers in Queen St (smithfield) they always seem to give a good fair price.

      Best of luck

  24. QUESTION:
where is the best place to sell unwanted jewelry to get the most money for what the jewelry is worth?
I have a 14k gold ring with 3 marquee shaped sapphire stones and 10 small round diamonds (diamond weight 1/3 carat). It's brand new, never worn, in original packaging. Where can I sell it to get the most money. (It was given to me from an ex, so getting rid of it). It cost approx 0. I know taking it to a pawn shop probably isn't a good idea right?

  25. QUESTION:
Where can I sell my unwanted jewelry?
I have a few gold necklaces that I would like cash for. Is there any jewelry stores that will buy them? Have you ever used a gold buying website? How much is used gold jewelry worth?

    • ANSWER:
With the price of gold being as high as it is right now, most jewelry stores are buying gold jewelry. I wouldn't use any company where you have to mail the jewelry to them. I've heard of jewelry being stolen that way.

  26. QUESTION:
Whats the deal with the recent influx of companies advertising "mail in your unwanted gold"?
    dollars4gold.com, cash4gold.com, moneyforgold.com etc

Regarding the advertisements on tv to send these companies your 'damaged or unwanted gold' and they will pay you cash - whats the deal? (as in "what do they know that they arent telling us?")

The commercials seem to target stupid people (no offence). It really feels like they are hiding something since all the do is flash images of cash infront of your face. All this seemed to pop up lately too - right around the economically turbulent times.

I'm aware that gold is still the global currency. I've also been told gold is always a sound investment to protect your assets should hyper-inflation occur.

So my question basically is, are these companies selling the gold or hoarding it?

    • ANSWER:
They are bottom-feeder companies hoping grandma will sell her stash because she doesn't know any better. They give 25 cents on the dollar, cull it and sell for much higher.

  27. QUESTION:
how much is my gold worth?
iv e put all my junk chains, rings etc on the scales and it weight is 4oz.has anyone sold their unwanted gold? how much will i get for mine.

    • ANSWER:
Selling gold jewelry online or by mail is never a good idea. You will always do better selling to a coin shop. Most coin dealers will explain in detail why they are paying what they do, and if you have questions, you can ask on the spot. You can't do that selling by mail. Most places that buy gold by mail are famous for paying a fraction of the gold value, and nothing for any precious stones that may be part of your jewelry.

If what you have is chains and rings, the fineness of the gold (the Karat) makes a huge difference. 24 Karat gold is 24/24 or 100% gold. 18 Karat is 18/24 or 75% gold. Knowing what you have will keep you from getting scammed.

  28. QUESTION:
How much per gram or ounce do gold buyers pay for old gold?
I know the price of gold is over 00.00 per ounce right now, but I'm wondering what jewelers and pawn brokers pay for your unwanted old gold. Has anyone sold their old gold and know exactly what they were paid per ounce or gram?

    • ANSWER:
The quoted price of gold (,100 plus per ounce) is for pure gold (24 carats). Most reputed jewellers will pay you the current market price for the pure gold portion of the jewellery. However, since most jewellery in North America is made from lower quality gold (often 18 carats or less), you will get less than ,100/ounce. As for pawn brokers, they may pay whatever they can get away with. I would advise you to talk to more than one jeweller before selling your jewellery.

  29. QUESTION:
Where to Sell Gold Billiards & Coins in London?
I have a gold billiard (1 ounce, solid gold) and a coin (1/2 ounce, solid gold). I'm launching a business right now so it's probably the best use I will have for the gold and makes the most sense to sell it now to raise extra funds.

Does anyone know Jewellers or traders or any place in London, that buys Gold billiards and gold coins and pays the market price (the actual Index price that gold is valued at on that day). I know the value changes a few times a day and I know there's companies who buy unwanted jewellery at rip off prices. I want to actually walk in to a building, hand the gold over and be given the real value of the gold... Is there Banks, Gold Dealers, Traders or Jewellers that pay the Market and Trading price, does anybody know where they are in London?

    Any useful advice is appreciated,

    Thank you :)

  30. QUESTION:
How do I sell unwanted gift?
My ex boyfriend brought me a emerald and diamond pendant 10cc white gold for my birthday and I want to sell it. I have only worn it twice and it's really good condition because it's been in the box the whole time. I have had since oct and I don't want it because it means nothing to me.

If I took it back to the place I brought it would they take it back at the full price I paid or will they say no. I have no idea how to sell jewellery as I've never done it before. I want as much money as I can get out of it because I'm really struggling with cash atm.
I live in Australia. In Melbourne. So yeah USA stuff doesn't really help me.

    • ANSWER:
It's unlikely that they would take it back at full price without a receipt and after 30 days or so.

Many jewellers deal in second hand jewellery so you could take it to a few places and ask what they will give you for it.

There are some companies that you can post gold to and they will send you a cheque. They will give you a terrible price and no way to negotiate, so do not deal with anyone like this. If you have an idea of what it's worth, you could try selling it on an online auction site or something, but since people like to see and try jewellery on, it might be easier just to take it to a reputable shop.

  31. QUESTION:
What is the value of a 22 carat gold half sovereign?
I want to sell some Royal Mint jewellery (unwanted gifts) to a scrap gold/ second hand jewellery merchant but I don't know what it is worth. I have the following:
A 9ct gold chain & cross bar (with 10 small diamonds) & a 22ct half sovereign pendant from 2003 - limited edition of 5000. Also a pair of 9ct gold earrings in a cross design with a small emerald in the centre & very small diamonds. Finally a sterling silver fine chain with pendant & 3 small sapphires. Can anyone help? What is the minimum I should take? I had a look on www.royalmint.com & the jewellery on there isn't cheap, but if you are selling it on second hand what sort of price can you expect to get?

    • ANSWER:
You would be well advised to take them to a reputable jewellery store or two, or a reputable pawnbroker, they also buy scrap gold and will give you a fair price.

Obviously you wont get full values as they need a margin for profit. If i were you i would also consider a reputable auction house as you might get a better price there, but get a valuation first and put a reserve on at 70% of full value.

      Good Luck.

    Gold buying companys ?
I'm looking a getting rid of a bit of unwanted gold jewelery, it's not the best looking so will not sell it, was going to send it off to one of the many gold buying companies, as there is so many i don't know where to start..

Any ideas of which is the best one to choose, which offers more, fastest payment etc ?

    Thanks

    • ANSWER:
Consumers should check out the buyer carefully before sending gold items through the mail. A good starting point is the Better Business Bureau. They will disclose any complaints received about your prospective buyer. If there are a lot of complaints, it's probably smart to look elsewhere until you find a reliable, trustworthy buyer.

You can also search for information about any company on Google or Yahoo! Just type the company's name in the search bar along with the word "complaint" or "scam" and see what comes up.

The website cashkit4gold.com states “CashKit4Gold.com will buy all unwanted gold jewelry. Since we only buy scrap gold over the internet, our overhead is very low compared to refineries. Jewelry Buyer Scam WeBuyDiamondsAndGold?
Last month, I decided to sell my unwanted gold jewelry which cost around 0-0 in total. I saw this website www.webuydiamondsandgold.com where they would send you a prepaid secured envelope to put your jewelry in. After gathering enough information about the company, I sent my jewelries. They told me that I shall get around 0 for the one that costs 5. 3 weeks later, I got a cheque of only 36 cents! I emailed them back and told them that I wanted to send the cheque back and I want jewelry back, as it was mentioned in the letter they sent me. Unfortunately, they never responded to any of my emails and when I called them, their voice mail box was full. I really don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

    • ANSWER:
Well you need to find out their postal address, which may be difficult to do. I did an IPwhois on their domain name and it looks like they may have registered it through GoDaddy or an affiliate, and their address is hidden. Here is the administrative contact listed:

      Domains by Proxy, Inc.
      DomainsByProxy.com
      15111 N. Hayden Rd., Ste 160, PMB 353
      Scottsdale, Arizona 85260
      United States
      (480) 624-2599 Fax -- (480) 624-2598

Unfortunately, that is probably just a registry service and not their company. If you are somehow able to find their address, you can file a small claims suit against them. Lookup your state's website on the web or call your local courthouse for more information, as laws vary by state. This may or may not work, considering the company may not have a real address, identity, or they may have temporary addresses.

A few hundred dollars is not really enough to contact a lawyer, but you can if you want. However, their fee will probably be as much or more than your loss. Lastly, you can report this theft to the police. It is better to do it in person and present the evidence you have because they will get confused over the phone and probably dismiss it. But if you go down there and calmly explain what happened, they may be able to help.

Reporting this website to the Better Business Bureau may help other people like yourself not get involved in the first place.

      Good luck.

P.S. Do not cash that check. Make a photocopy for your records. The bank account number on the check may be able to link up the identity of the company or proprietor. If/when you go to the police, be sure to take anything relevant such as printouts, the check, documents, etc.

  36. QUESTION:
Hi, Im in the UK. I have alot of unwanted and unworn jewellery to sell. How can I find out what it is worth?
All this jewellery was given to me by an ex partner and as I have not worn it I may as well get some money for it. I just don't know what value to put on it. I know it is all 9ct Gold but thats it. Is there anywhere I can have it valued and how much would that cost? I just dont want to under market anything as I remember it was so not cheap.

    Many thanks

    • ANSWER:
It is difficult valuing the non-intrinsic value. This is down to what someone will pay for it. As for the intrinsic value you need to establish the weight of the metal (less any stones). The base value of the gold can be calculated from: weight (in ounces) x 9/24 x US0/ 1.584
9 kts is 9/24 pure gold. 0 is the value of an ounce of pure gold (24kt). And 1.584 is the GBP/US$ exchange rate.
This gives you the value of the gold, although if sold as scrap will be slightly less.
If you think the jewellery is attractive then try Ebay using the gold value as your base value.

  38. QUESTION:
Where's the best place to sell my diamond ring?
I live in Seattle and want to sell my engagement ring from my first marriage. It's a mid-grade quality but colorless and brilliant cut, very stunning 3/4 ct diamond in a white gold antique filigree setting. I tried Craigslist but no bites, and I would never get my money's worth on EBay. I also took it to a pawn shop, who offered me 10% of its actual value.

So my question is, can anyone recommend the best place to sell an unwanted diamond ring? Preferably in the Seattle area, if possible.

    Thanks!!

    • ANSWER:
Best place to sell your ring is probably empire gold, you can also get a free price quote from them.

  39. QUESTION:
Where is a good place to sell a diamond wedding set in or near Knoxville, TN?
I've posted in the local classifieds, craigslist, ebay, and facebook with no success. Do regular jewelers routinely buy unwanted diamonds? It's a 1.5 carat white gold wedding set, so would they just take the diamonds out and sell them separately and then melt the gold down or what? Any ideas that any of you have to help me get rid of these would be greatly appreciated. I need them taken off my hands. Literally.
Actually, the wedding set belongs to my friend. She isn't getting a divorce, but the rings were very expensive, and she just had a baby last Friday and needs the money more than the rings. She's computer-illiterate so I offered to sell them for her.
Well, the rings are selling at Zale's right now for 00, and she's only asking 00. Do you think that it's possible to get that out of it? It includes the lifetime diamond bond paperwork and the original receipts and everything. As far as returning it to the store, her husband bought them on credit, so it would just be applied to his account, which, knowing them, has already been turned into collections.

    • ANSWER:
pawn shop wont give you much for it try this one out sell raffle tickets for a buck a peace until you cant sell no more then give the ring away to a winner a friend of mine done this once with a house he made 3 times the amount the house was worth he sold the tickets on the navy base for 10 bucks a peace for 3 months then did the drawing at a local bar someone got a house for 10 bucks

  40. QUESTION:
Ever used a pawn shop? - selling jewelry?
I have quite a bit of unwanted jewelry (Gold charms, herringbone necklace and bracelet, diamond tennis bracelet, etc) About what percentage of value would you get for jewelry in good condition at a pawn shop?

    • ANSWER:
Pawn shops may not pay the best price... they're going to sell gold to a refiner anyway. If your jewelery is high value because of craftsmanship, then you can try shopping it around to jewelry stores first. 41. QUESTION:
Please explain...what is your opinion about this Article?
    Plugging holes
Central banks' latest moves to increase liquidity will ease but not solve the credit crunch
YOU might call it the sandbag approach to central banking. As the turmoil in credit markets deepens and broadens, central banks, particularly America's Fed, have devised ever more ways to bolster the markets against collapse by providing more funds to more actors, for longer periods and against broader ranges of collateral.
This week brought the latest round of sandbagging. In two announcements, on March 7th and 11th, the Fed promised a series of new measures. It expanded the facility through which banks can bid for liquidity and introduced a new scheme under which the central bank would provide up to 0 billion of Treasury bonds to market-makers in return for dodgier assets, such as mortgage-backed securities. On March 11th, other central banks joined in too.
Financial markets were delighted. Wall Street's main share indices enjoyed the biggest one-day rise in over five years. But the optimism did not last. Within days dollar selling drove gold above ,000 an ounce and the dollar below ¥100. Though the Fed's tools are useful, the bad news is not over.
The logic behind broader liquidity provision is simple: to break a vicious circle of fear and forced selling. In recent days, many corners of the credit markets were becoming dysfunctional, with investors refusing to hold all but the safest government bonds. Spreads in normally safe and liquid markets, such as bonds issued by the quasi-official mortgage giants, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, widened alarmingly and prices wobbled. Higher volatility and wider spreads prompt banks to demand more collateral from borrowers, which in turn exacerbates the mess. By offering the safe Treasury bonds that investors crave, and holding unwanted securities in return, the Fed intends to block this spiral. A modest risk
That makes a lot of sense. By reducing the panic-induced part of widening credit-spreads, the new liquidity tools mitigate the damage that dysfunctional credit markets would otherwise wreak on the economy. They also take the pressure off the central bank's other, rather blunter, policy tool—lower interest rates. The Fed has already slashed short-term interest rates by 1.25 percentage points in the past two months, in part to counter the credit turmoil. Before this week's liquidity actions, financial markets expected another three-quarter-point cut at the Fed's next rate-setting meeting on March 18th. With commodity prices soaring, the dollar plumbing new depths and expectations of future inflation on the rise, such a large rate-cut would be risky. The new liquidity tools reduce the odds that the Fed is spooked into recklessness.
Equally important, these gains come at only modest risk. The Fed will hold dodgier securities. But by taking them as collateral for temporary loans and at a discount, it would lose money only if there is a bankruptcy among the market-makers borrowing Treasury bonds. The ECB has long taken such securities as collateral. In the long term, central banks' willingness to broaden liquidity support during crises may induce banks to behave more riskily (a temptation that will need to be countered with more effective rules on banks' own liquidity). But that hardly seems a problem today. The biggest danger is excessive expectations. Liquidity provision, however artful, is not a magic bullet for the credit crunch. It alleviates panic and buys time, but does not eliminate the underlying losses, get rid of the uncertainty about who holds them, or prevent the inevitable credit tightening that will follow. And the bad news is far from finished. As foreclosures and falls in house prices accelerate, estimates of likely losses on mortgage-backed securities, now around 0 billion, are still rising. The credit contraction these losses will spawn has hardly started. Yet the economy is already in recession. That is not official, but the latest jobs figures, which showed private-sector employment falling in each of the past three months, leave little doubt that the economy is contracting. More mortgage losses will result as joblessness spawns foreclosures, along with higher defaults on everything from credit cards to corporate loans. There are some bright spots. Banks are limiting the scale of the squeeze by raising new capital, over 0 billion so far—though they could raise more. The downturn is being cushioned by still-strong global growth. George Bush's fiscal stimulus package will soon add a short boost. But, all told, recession suggests the credit problems will get worse before they get better. The Fed's sandbag strategy will help ward off disaster, but it won't shore up a sagging economy.

    • ANSWER:
Yes. Those subs, when wired in parallel, will be 2ohms...and each sub wants 150W RMS (300W RMS total for the pair). That amp is rated at 275x1@2ohms but kicker underrates their amps so I would expect it to actually be about 300-350W which would provide the optimal power to those subs.

I Bought a brand new computer 2 weeks ago. No viruses. I have AVG spy bot and all that jazz. I deleted temp files, history etc.

I CTRL + V my password always, never typed it incase of keyloggers.

Yeah password has been changed 4 different times, and I'll change it again monday when Blizz releases my account again. Thanks.
My brother played this like once, He doesn't even know what a "Quest" is.

He would never, he said he never, and none of his friends are even remotely interested in WoW.

Aside form that I do have mods.
    I just deleted them now.

I hope that solves it, I googled it, and many many addons have backdoors :O.

    • ANSWER:
      Have you downloaded any addons?

My boyfriend had this happen to him as well and it was from an addon he had downloaded. There was no virus involved, it just somehow gave the hackers a back door.

You don't say if you changed your password after being hacked. And while your brother may not be a hacker, he may have shared the info with someone not realizing what could happen?
