If you want to do a little research for your own satisfaction, I suggest watching Direct Shopping Network. They constantly do loose gemstone shows and they work off a 40% margin...meaning, whatever sale price you see on the screen, their true cost is 40% of that. This can give you a basic idea on what they can sell for.
     Some private jewelry stores will buy loose gemstones. Once you get ideas for what you want on them, ask them if they work on consignment. THat can bring you a fast profit. Also, their is a TV Show in Florida ( Gem Auction TV ), they work consignment and have a following. ( You can find them on a Google Search )

     I heard there is one company in the world called De Beers that regulates and distributes the planet's diamond supply. They are the ones who actually mine, shape, and polish the stones. Unless you have a good quantity of the rock it would probably cost you more money to dig the diamonds from the blocks and cut and polish them, I would be surprised if you could break even let alone make a profit from doing all that.

      It is common knowledge that most, if not all, of those stores are owned by Jews.

      As to if they shall give you a good offer for your diamonds - couldn't say.

      You should get 2-3 prices from different jewelers if possible. They will often offer more if they know you are shopping around. Pawn shops usually do not offer top dollar. Buyers like to examine rings before buying, so you are unlikely to get a good price on E-bay.
      Unfortunately, there is a tremendous mark-up between wholesale and retail prices for diamonds. Expect to get less than half the retail price when selling.

Time to get realistic. At best you can sell your few diamonds a little more that what you paid to some stupid tourist.

DO NOT do anything online, too much bad can happen, like you send them somewhere and never hear back and don't get any money for them. Don't be duped. Keep them in your possession at all times until you have the money in your hands.

      You can take it to a pawn shop, but you should probably return it to wherever you got it.

      Of course, there's always eBay, Amazon.com (if you have a seller account), Craig's List, and local pawn shops.

      There are quite a few places that you could sell your ring, the question is whether you would get a reasonable price. The main problem with jewelery that was bought at a retail store is the 300% to 400% markup on diamond jewelery.
      I am a retail and manufacturing jeweler, I would recommend putting the goods on consignment, if you are not in a particular hurry to sell. Some jewelers will charge only 20 to 30% commission. Pick a reputable jeweller , one you can trust.

      To sell privately exposes you to con-men who troll sites like ebay, newspaper advertising and other sales services for people who have valuables for sale.

      You could try a quality Auction house, they would have an established client base, they would advertise for you, and a lot have a policy of having high value items given a discount or rebate on the fees. Also you would gain credibility as a seller as the Auction House would be able to guarantee the item being sold as they have valuing and other means of showing the legitimacy of the items they sell.
      And another plus is they are discreet, your name and address need not be made know to the public.

      You really can’t. If a jeweler or pawn shop was buying it from you, they’d expect to pay a small enough amount to be able to sell at profit. Otherwise, why bother buying it?

      As for selling it to a random person, the buyer would expect to pay less than you think it’s worth because they have no guarantee that they’re really getting what they’re paying for. They have to take your word that it is what you say it is. Jewelry is so specific that it would be hard to find someone else in the world looking for exactly that piece. If I’m buying a piece that isn’t exactly what I want, I expect to pay less than full price.

      In the US, it is illegal to trade and sell "conflict" diamonds. So if you are buying your stone from a legitimate jeweler in the US, you don't even have to think about that.
      Go to an AGS affiliated independent jeweler in your area. Their standards of service are much higher, and the diamonds they sell go through a much tougher scrutiny then the big national chains, including places like Tiffanys... plus you're not paying a premium for the name....

      I would suggest taking it to a jeweler, a place the focuses on diamonds. They will let you know the value of it and possibly want to buy it from you, and if not, you could ask them the best route to take to get the most $$ out of it.

      Don't sell on craigslist or ebay, you will have to price lower than it's worth to sell it. Go to a diamond jeweler store...they will lead in the right direction.
