If you have bought gold as an investment, you may need to know where to sell gold bullion. More caution is required if you plan to sell gold bullion by mail than if, for example, you were sending in a gold chain. The amount of money is usually far greater for those who sell gold bullion, so one of the first things you need to look at is how much your shipment will be insured for. Many companies limit this to 0 (Silver and Gold Exchange insures your shipment for up to ,000) which is seldom enough for anyone who is seeking to sell gold bullion.
You also need to make sure you are dealing with a reputable dealer. Unfortunately, there are many rip-off artists out there, so you need to check their record of complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. Many of these companies have literally hundreds of complaints. (Silver and Gold Exchange has never had one single complaint lodged against it, and is a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business.)
Next, evaluate the price each dealer is offering. Some post out-dated prices on their website, so it is best, especially if you are going to sell gold bullion, to check the price over a period of several days. If it never changes, you can be confident that this is not the price you will receive if you sell gold bullion to them. (Silver and Gold Exchange uses a alivea price board, which is continuously updated as long as the market is open.) You will find a wide range of prices, and if you are selling items you purchased for investment purposes, you naturally want to find the best price before you sell gold bullion to anyone. Even a cursory check with local sources will tell you that you can seldom obtain the best price locally when it is time to sell gold bullion.
See what the terms are if you offer to sell gold bullion to a company and do not like the price offered. Some companies just receive your order and mail you a check. Then, if you do not like the offer, you have a limited amount of time to respond and retrieve your items, usually at your own expense. Silver and Gold Exchange does not operate in this manner. When you offer to sell gold bullion to them, they email you an offer. If you don't want to accept, they pay the cost to return your order to you.
Some companies may not let you include other items when you sell gold bullion, or may not even accept things like broken jewelry or gold coins. This means that you have to find one dealer to sell gold bullion to and another for your jewelry. Silver and Gold Exchange has a long list of everything they buy on their website, but it encompasses virtually all gold, except items that are gold plated or gold filled, so you can sell gold bullion to them and also include all of your other gold or silver items in the same shipment.
Silver and Gold Exchange is an excellent place to sell gold bullion and any other precious metals you might have. One visit to their website and a quick review of their credentials can convince you that they are the best place to sell gold bullion.

QUESTION:
Where, How do I sell gold coins at market value?
Will a bank buy gold coins for market value?
Or should I sell to a coin dealer?
Thanks.-
ANSWER:
How do you define market value?
Coin dealers will pay 80% to 90% of the value of the metal or 50% - 60% of catalog value, whichever is greater. Banks, at least in the US, don't buy gold. In Mexico, banks buy Mexican gold coins at about 90% of the metal value but don't buy non-Mexican coins.
Selling them yourself on eBay might be better, but then you have to consider eBay's fees.

www.kitco.com is the best source of bullion price info, but some local coin dealers (listed in the phone book or on-line) will pay a bit more for them (and will teach you more about them).

QUESTION:
Where to Sell Gold Billiards & Coins in London?
I have a gold billiard (1 ounce, solid gold) and a coin (1/2 ounce, solid gold). I'm launching a business right now so it's probably the best use I will have for the gold and makes the most sense to sell it now to raise extra funds.Does anyone know Jewellers or traders or any place in London, that buys Gold billiards and gold coins and pays the market price (the actual Index price that gold is valued at on that day). I know the value changes a few times a day and I know there's companies who buy unwanted jewellery at rip off prices. I want to actually walk in to a building, hand the gold over and be given the real value of the gold... Is there Banks, Gold Dealers, Traders or Jewellers that pay the Market and Trading price, does anybody know where they are in London?
Any useful advice is appreciated,
Thank you

ANSWER:

These are dealers that are well known, if they are not interested, I'm sure they can tell you someone else. Just found this link to loads of dealers, phone a few and ask them. http://www.numis.co.uk/london.html

QUESTION:
Where to Sell 24k Gold Coins???
I want to purchase some 24k Gold Coins, i want to know that where to Sell them after Price Hike.
Is investing Money in Gold is Good?
From where to purchase pure Gold coins in low Prices?
Which one is more good, invest in Gold or Fixed Deposit money in Bank.-
ANSWER:
There are virtually no 24k gold coins. They would be too soft and wear out quickly. Most major gold coins are .900 fine or .917 fine (22k). However, when you buy a Krugerrand, Canadian Maple leaf or American Eagle coin, while they are .900 fine, they still have exactly 1 ounce of actual gold contents. Is investing in gold good.? I am a gold investor and right now I am selling some of it, because I believe it has reached a bubble about to burst.
Where to buy? Check the eBay auctions (literally thousands of gold and silver coins are available every day) and you will get some of the best prices there without paying the sometimes obscene dealer mark-up.
Is gold better than a fixed deposit at a bank? Only time will tell. In a fixed bank deposit will will now earn virtually nothing, but you will still have all your money a year from now, while gold may be dow 20% from where it is today.

QUESTION:
Where to sell gold coin?
I ws given one ounce gold coins years ago and was wondering where I would be able to sell them. I am guessing I should be able to get what ever the current price of gold for them.-
ANSWER:
You will get more $$$ if you list and sell them on ebay. Some tips that may be helpful to you……….
Be honest and accurate in your descriptions – One-sentence descriptions are for lazy sellers. One paragraph should be sufficient for most items. My general guideline is the more expensive (read higher priced) an item, the more you should ‘talk it up.’ It won’t be time wasted. Use lots of adjectives in your descriptions. Adjectives make prose and your items come alive. Without them, prose is dull and your items less appealing. Just add a little ‘sizzle’ and even have a little fun with it. In short, make your descriptions stand out above the crowd.
Be professional - use good English with no spelling errors
PICTURES:
ALWAYS include at least one picture, more pictures for higher priced items. Make sure your pictures are clear. There are far too many pictures on ebay that are dark. If prospective buyers can’t see your items clearly, your items, more than likely, will not fetch the closing prices they deserve. To remove darkness, use any photo editor to add some brightness and a wee bit of contrast.
Eliminate clutter. Prospective bidders don’t want to know what kind of cereal you eat or what kind of kitchen table or bedspread you have. Use a SOLID backdrop when taking your pictures as you want to focus all of the attention on your item. In short, the one and only thing you want in your picture is the item being sold. A SOLID white or light blue backdrop is best. However, there are certainly items that won’t show well on a light backdrop. In these cases, use a darker backdrop. And for gosh sake, don’t even think of using a plaid blanket as a backdrop for your pictures as I once saw on ebay. You should also crop the photos in your photo editor. Good pictures can add 5% to 10% to final closing prices.
GOOD DESCRIPTIONS + GOOD PICTURES = GOOD PRESENTATION. This is what you should strive for.
COMMUNICATION:
GOOD Communication is a must - Always notify buyers when you mail their items. It is not only a courtesy you would want and expect as a buyer but it is also both good customer service and good business practice. After all, you are the 'President & CEO' of your 'company' running your business but using ebay as your selling medium. In short, conduct your business so that it reflects well on you as a person. Treat everyone as a human being, not a living being and this includes people who have inquiries about your items, not just your buyers. Prospective buyers making these inquiries could ultimately be the winning bidders and possible repeat customers.

QUESTION:
How do I sell gold coins?
I keep hearing that gold is a good investment. Banks sell gold coins. If I buy 1, where do I sell it later to get a profit? I want to buy & sell through safe secure channels like banks.-
ANSWER:
Generally Banks (which is very secure) do not buy back the gold.People are obliged to sell their gold to a jeweller.
But the advantage is, when you buy gold from banks with a proper receipt and reports or its weight and purity you are almost certain to get the equivalent money even from the jewellers.

QUESTION:
Where can I sell my gold coins?
HiMy Uncle have a collection of gold & Platinum coins that he wants to sell as the value of gold is high right now. Where are some of the safest website that I should sell to?
I have searched some online sites, there are a few that will mail out an envelope for you to send to them and once they receive the coin, they will let you know the value of your coin's worth and send you a check but this doesn't sound too safe. I think my Uncle would like to know what his coin is worth before selling/ sending it away to an online company.
Please help!
-
ANSWER:
Well, I don't know any honest places to sell gold coins. But, gold is down over the past two months, reaching a point lower than it was a year ago. However, it will most certainly go up again soon. I recommend waiting a few more months before selling the coins.
Please note, I'm not a market analyst. So keep track of the value of gold yourself at http://goldprice.org/gold-price-history.html .

QUESTION:
I want to sell a valuable gold cutlery set in London. Where should I go?
Many shops buy/sell gold coins or jewellery but I can't find one that buys gold cutlery. Can anyone help me?-
ANSWER:
Gold is a soft metal and makes a poor edge. For it to be functional cutlery, there can't be a high gold content/carat value in it.You can try jewelers who melt down old jewelry but, be prepared if it doesn't fetch the price you're expecting. Extracting what little gold I suspect is in the cutlery might make them worth less than what you thought.

QUESTION:
Where is the best place to sell gold and silver coins?-
ANSWER:
You could try your local coin shop. Stay away from pawn shops. You need to get a 2007 Red Book so you can have some ideas of the coins values. You could also try to sell a few coins on Ebay to see how it goes. You should really think about why you are trying to sell right now considering the way the market is. If you hold on a little longer, maybe by next summer, your gold and silver will be much more valuable, possibly two or three times more.

Where can I sell my gold coin in NYC?
I would like a dependable place and a safe transaction like meet in person, From a reputable company. Does anyone know of any companies I could meet with about my coin? Any advice is greatly appreciated. I would prefer not to do anything over the web or mail.Thank you for any input
-
ANSWER:
There's dozens of gold and silver dealers in NYC in storefronts all around 6th Avenue in the 40s, mostly on 47th and 48th St. (see 1st link, below)Just take your coin there and go from store to store to see who'll give you the best deal, but be careful that no one switches your coin on you while you're not looking, so DON'T let it out of your sight.
Of course, depending on what kind of coin it is, it's possible that it might be even more valuable to coin collectors than to gold dealers, so check into that, too (see 2nd link, below).

Would it be worth it to sell my silver coins to a place where a convention is at that buys gold & silver or?
would it be better to just keep the coins ?-
ANSWER:
If the place you're looking at is anything like the ones I've seen advertised locally, I certainly wouldn't sell it there. One of the ads shows that they pay " and up" for US silver dollars minted before 1936. The problem is that at the current silver price, there is about worth of silver in them.If you really want to sell, and what you've got is coins and bars, I'd go to the nearest coin dealer and see what you'd get for them

QUESTION:
Where to sell a 2007 misprinted Gold George Washington Coin?
A few days ago I read in a mag. that there has been a lot of 2007 misprinted Gold G.W coins and people selling them from .00 and way up. Today my son was awarded a Gold dollar for all A's in School and It just so happend to be one that was mentioned in the article I read. It is missing the words. "In God We Trust" I don't know where or how to go about finding out where to look to see how much I can get for his. He could sure use it, rather than keep this shiny coin. If anyone knows where to sell it for big bucks please help. My son would appreciate it.-
ANSWER:
Go to http://www.pcgs.com/ (Professional coin grading service)
The quotes are for graded and slabbed coins only,
Other wise check out this one
http://coinworldtrends.com/content.asp?content=grading&visitor={B63AA505-D763-4960-B26A-B5BFECC0D48E}PS forget about selling it on e-bay, you won't get a 1/3 of it's value.
For the higher value, you would have to have it graded and that run around if you are a member.Depending on the grade ms-60 to ms-67 it ranges from to ,000 but once again that's for a PCGS slabbed coin.
Good luck in finding a buyer, or better yet, hang on to it, by the time he reaches 18 he may be able to buy a house with it.

QUESTION:
does every bank sell gold/silver coins?
i was thinking of buying some gold or silver coins or just gold/silver period to have for a investment, how much do gold or silver coins cost? and where can i get them? banks? coin shops? and is it true they go up in value?-
ANSWER:
In some countries, the current bullion coins are sometimes available at banks or post offices, but the US isn't one of those countries.Probably your best bet would be a coin shop. If you're looking toward just having some precious metal, and don't care about any numismatic value, you're going to want to look at "bullion" coins. The price is going to vary based on the "spot" price for gold and silver. Right now, that's 67 and .55 per troy ounce.
If the value of gold and silver go up, then the value of the coins goes up. If it goes down, then so does the value of the coins.

QUESTION:
Where can I sell my 1991 American Gold Eagle 4-Coin Proof Set?
I do not want to sell it online like ebay or amazon. Any local stores I can sell to? Should I go to a local Jeweler?-
ANSWER:
Forget Amazon. But if you pass up eBay, you're losing out on the world's largest marketplace of ready, willing and able spenders. Yes, you have to pay fees. But for the high price you're talking for this set, the total eBay and Paypal fees will be no more than 5%.They are going for around ,700 on eBay, if you have all of the original US Mint packaging.
You've got 1.85 Troy ounces of pure gold. Today's closing price was ,186 per ounce. Bullion value is around ,200. If you only got ,500 on eBay and paid 10% in total fees (which you won't, for an auction listing, the maximum charge is , which is less than 1.5%, and the Paypal fee is 3%), you would net ,150. That's 0 more than bullion price.
No local dealer, coin shop, jewelry store, etc, is going to pay you anywhere NEAR 0 above bullion price. And, in reality, if you get ,600 on eBay, you're going to net ,400. That's ,200 over bullion, not 0.
Maybe you don't have an eBay account, or just don't want to deal with it. I do have an account, for over ten years, with perfect feedback. I can help you get more than any local place will pay you. Contact me.

QUESTION:
Where to purchase gold and silver coins?
I would like to buy some gold and silver coins to use as barter in the case of economic collapse. (US) If the collapse never happens, which I pray it doesn't, I wound just pass them on to my children. Can anyone recommend a reputable seller of these coins? And also one that will sell me the amount I want to buy and not the amount they want to sell?
Thanks!-
ANSWER:
I've been trading silver through Apmex for several years. They give the current quote and mark it up a little. And they deliver right to your front door.http://apmex.com/
I gave away 5 oz bars/coins of silver at Christmas two years ago to family members, and last Christmas they were almost double the price. The gift that keeps on giving.
Oh, another good site:
http://www.kitco.com/You instinctively already know that holding a paper ETF is not the same as holding physical gold. Until the Flash Crash a couple of weeks ago, nobody realized that ETF's could freeze up and lock you out of trading or redeeming the underlying. If one of the reasons you're buying gold is to protect against a crash in the system, then that very reason may be why you're left holding the bag (paper ETF instead of physical gold) in the event of a crash.
Read this article how GLD/SLV ETF's may not be redeemable:
