When you are ready to sell a gold ring, you will need to locate the best gold buyer. This will ensure that you receive top dollar so that you can have the best experience when you sell a gold ring.
Sell a Gold Ring
In order to better acquaint yourself with the gold industry, you will need to find out what the current gold prices are. This information is available on various websites. Having the current gold prices will give you an estimate of what you should expect to receive when you sell a gold ring.
You will also need to understand how gold is valued. The purest form of gold is 24 karats and is provided with the highest quotes during the selling process. Gold that is 10k, 14k or 18k are also valuable and will be quoted accordingly.
Best Rated Gold Buyers
To find a gold buyer, you can use an online yellow pages directory or a major search engine. You will need to decide if you want to use an online gold buyer or a physical store location, such as a pawn shop or jewelry store. By using an online buyer, you will receive a quick turnaround time and the highest rates. With a physical store, you will be offered lower rates as they have numerous overhead costs that they have to bear.
Once you have decided on a buyer, you can visit the Better Business Bureau for detailed information on the business. This agency was created in the early 1900's and has been keeping records on every kind of business for nearly a century. Website visitors can gain access to complaint histories in order to determine if a company is trustworthy and honest.
Selling your gold can allows you to earn the extra cash that you need. By locating the best gold buyer, you can sell a gold ring for the highest amount of money.

I have a gold Krugerand and a 100 oz bar of silver that I'm interested in selling. Where should I go to sell precious metals at a fair price?-

The best way to sell precious metals is to sell directly to a refiner. You can find a few companies that will buy your gold online here: http://www.goldintomoney.com You'll get fair market prices and the process is free. They're better than going to a pawn shop because pawn shops are just middle men and your metals will just end up in the same place.

QUESTION:
where to sell gold bullion / dore from dental scrap gold to?
I've melted lots of dental scrap into an ingot / gold bar and refined it using a home refining system. its 99.98% gold. where can i sell it to? I saw others on Ebay which sold for a lot less than the gold spot price (ie, spot was /gram and other home-made bars were selling for roughly /gram only) The only ones selling for a good price were the stamped ones from Metalor, Suisse, etc. Since I made it myself, what do I do with it? I tried selling some before to refiners I found online like Midwest Refineries and Garfield, but the return was NOT as advertised. They claimed I would get 94%-96% of the value but they really only gave me like 60% - scammers, to say the least. Anyways, does anyone have experience with a reputable gold buyer for non-minted gold bullions? Allso, I have a good amount of palladium which is about half the price of gold - who can buy that at a good price? Thanks
im dealing with about 50 oz. what is the minimum for a known refining company to refine my gold, and do you know what rates they charge?-

Many coin dealers will buy bullion. You might also try jewelry stores (real jewelers, not the places in the mall).

QUESTION:
Where can I sell gold safely in San Diego?
I have some broken gold chains and earrings and would like to sell them. I'm afraid of going into a bad area in San Diego where the pawn shops are. Can any one suggest a safe place where they have sold gold? Much appreciated.-
ANSWER:
I sold some jewelry last week to a jeweler in Rancho Penasquitos. My husband found him on a site www.sellgoldsandiego.com He was easy to get to, in a great neighborhood, good parking and I was satisfied with what he paid. They were friendly and I felt safe there. You might get a dollar or two more or less somewhere else, but I would highly recommend them. To me it wasn't worth the trouble (or the gas money) to drive all over the place pricing things out. Name of the place is Richard West Jewelers but if you go the www.sellgoldsandiego.com you'll get travel directions etc. Best of luck!

QUESTION:
Where to sell gold coin?
I ws given one ounce gold coins years ago and was wondering where I would be able to sell them. I am guessing I should be able to get what ever the current price of gold for them.-
ANSWER:
You will get more $$$ if you list and sell them on ebay. Some tips that may be helpful to you……….
Be honest and accurate in your descriptions – One-sentence descriptions are for lazy sellers. One paragraph should be sufficient for most items. My general guideline is the more expensive (read higher priced) an item, the more you should ‘talk it up.’ It won’t be time wasted. Use lots of adjectives in your descriptions. Adjectives make prose and your items come alive. Without them, prose is dull and your items less appealing. Just add a little ‘sizzle’ and even have a little fun with it. In short, make your descriptions stand out above the crowd.
Be professional - use good English with no spelling errors
PICTURES:
ALWAYS include at least one picture, more pictures for higher priced items. Make sure your pictures are clear. There are far too many pictures on ebay that are dark. If prospective buyers can’t see your items clearly, your items, more than likely, will not fetch the closing prices they deserve. To remove darkness, use any photo editor to add some brightness and a wee bit of contrast.
Eliminate clutter. Prospective bidders don’t want to know what kind of cereal you eat or what kind of kitchen table or bedspread you have. Use a SOLID backdrop when taking your pictures as you want to focus all of the attention on your item. In short, the one and only thing you want in your picture is the item being sold. A SOLID white or light blue backdrop is best. However, there are certainly items that won’t show well on a light backdrop. In these cases, use a darker backdrop. And for gosh sake, don’t even think of using a plaid blanket as a backdrop for your pictures as I once saw on ebay. You should also crop the photos in your photo editor. Good pictures can add 5% to 10% to final closing prices.
GOOD DESCRIPTIONS + GOOD PICTURES = GOOD PRESENTATION. This is what you should strive for.
COMMUNICATION:
GOOD Communication is a must - Always notify buyers when you mail their items. It is not only a courtesy you would want and expect as a buyer but it is also both good customer service and good business practice. After all, you are the 'President & CEO' of your 'company' running your business but using ebay as your selling medium. In short, conduct your business so that it reflects well on you as a person. Treat everyone as a human being, not a living being and this includes people who have inquiries about your items, not just your buyers. Prospective buyers making these inquiries could ultimately be the winning bidders and possible repeat customers.

QUESTION:
Where can you sell gold without a fee?
So thinking of investing in gold, the type that I buy and get it directly so that I have no storage fees. So in say 10 years when I unbury this in my backyard where can I sell it? I know all those Cash4Gold rubbish places are not giving you what gold is actually worth. So please site some sources as I've looked a bit on the net and can't seem to find anything concrete. Thanks-
ANSWER:
There is not a fee to sell gold or silver back to market. There is only a fee to buy it. You are misunderstanding the spot price of gold and how it works. Unlike stocks, gold and silver have a spot price. The spot price in any given time is the difference between the BID (Selling back to market) price and the ASK (Buying from the market price). So if the Bid price is 00.00 and the Ask price is 02.00 then the spot price is 01.00. The spot price ONLY refers to PAPER gold not PHYSICAL gold and silver. Now in addition to the spot price the PHYSICAL metals market has a premium on the physical metal. These premiums vary as to exactly the type of product being bought. Coins always carry a higher premium then bars. Then you have premium differences for bullion coins and numismatic coins. It is vital to learn and know the differences betewwn these types of coins. As to where to sell back to market you can start with KITCO. Here is the link to figure out what each type of product they deal will will pay you if you sell to them. https://online.kitco.com/selltokitco/selltokitco_USD.html
Other metals sites usually do not provide real time selling back to market pricing. However Monex has real time buying from market prices http://www.monex.com/liveprices so does American Gold Exchange http://www.amergold.com/Now you have to learn exactly what products to buy and why to buy them. You need to lean which to avoid and why. Rule of thumb.....If you are in the US then only buy US Gold coins. Avoid coins encased in plastic numismatic graded holders. They are too expensive and are not woth the extra money in most cases. Aviod gold from other countries except fractional gold bullion Maple Leafs from Canada. For Silver avoid pre 1964 silver coins in large amounts. I personally only buy Silver Maple Leaf Bullion coins and Silver American Eagles.

Also you need to understand that gold is not an investment. Gold is and acts more like an insurance policy. You are insuring that something in your portfolio can never go to [FAQ-ANSWER].00. All paper assets have the ability to go to [FAQ-ANSWER].00. This is what you are insuring against. The only other asset to not go to zero is real estate. But real estate is illiquid. Because of the debt time bomb you better own gold. The best way to own gold is to buy and take physical delivery of the gold itself. Silver is also in the gold realm as well, so when talking about gold, silver is included.
It is always a good idea to own some gold and silver at all price levels. To truly understand gold and silver, and why you should own it you have to understand the economy and get the movie of life on the largest screen possible.
Gold is money and a store of value. It is the "Currency of last resort" as Greenspan has stated many times through the years. Gold doesnt pay interest, dividends, doesnt restate earnings, has no lawyers, accountants, CEOs or CFOs lying to you on television. Gold doesnt ask for bailouts, doesnt go Bankrupt and cannot cook its books. Gold cant be debased or printed at the will of a company or governmetnt and holds its purchasing power.
Gold sits there as a store of value, is labor intensive, and a one ounce coin will not split into a bunch of half ounce coins at the direction of the pin stripped bandits on Wall Street. Also Gold is the ONLY asset class in the last ten years to increase in value and retain every dollar of its purchasing power.
Do not look at gold in terms of price. Look at prices and money in terms of gold. Paper currency doesnt gain in value, neither does gold. In 1999 when gold was at 0.00 an ounce, a one ounce gold bullion coin bought about 400 gallons of gas. Today with gas prices up and gold at 00.00 an ounce the same one ounce gold coin still buys about the same amount of gas. This is true for food, energy, and other basic items needed for living. The gold didnt gain value at all. It stayed the same. It only takes more paper to buy the same amount of goods and services. If gold were to fall say down to 0 an ounce again then that would mean all prices would fall as well. Do you see gas going back to .00 a gallon anytime soon? Look at gold as a currency and as insurance of buying power and a store of value not as an investment. Therefore dont worry about the price of gold in paper terms. As Alan Greenspan former Chairman of the Federal Reserve said ....
"In the absence of the gold standard, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation through inflation. There is no safe store of value. If there were, the government would have to make its holding illegal, as was done in the case of gold. If everyone decided, for example, to convert all his bank deposits to silver or copper or any other good, and thereafter declined to accept checks as payment for goods, bank deposits would lose their purchasing power and government-created bank credit would be worthless as a claim on goods. The financial policy of the welfare state requires that there be no way for the owners of wealth to protect themselves.
This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirades against gold. Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights. If one grasps this, one has no difficulty in understanding the statists' antagonism toward the gold standard."

QUESTION:
Where do we sell gold Jewelry stores give you peanuts compared to what it's worth?
It travels along a long path till someone makes a lot of money. I would like to be at the end of the line where the money is made. Any suggestions !-
ANSWER:
Consumer Reports has some good advice on selling gold:"The Consumer Reports Money Adviser compared what one of the television companies offered for a gold band a couple of years ago with what a local jeweler and an on-line gold buyer would pay, the TV company paid a much lower price. Instead, take your gold to a reputable jeweler in your area for an appraisal. Note the carat of the metal, and ask the jeweler to tell you the weight in pennyweights or troy ounces. Use this online calculator to figure out the value based on the price of gold that day. Then quickly (because prices fluctuate) call several jewelry or coin stores and ask how much they pay for gold. Aim to get about 85 percent of what you calculated it’s worth. "

QUESTION:
Where should I sell my gold jewelry?
I hear that the best places to sell gold jewelry are brokerage firms or estate jewelry houses. Where should I sell my gold to get the best price? And what are any tips for negotiating the best price when I am selling? Thanks.-
ANSWER:
It all depends on what you have. If your jewelry is in nice shape and at least 14kt or 18kt gold, many estate jewelry buyers will express interest and pay a bit better. If the jewelry is damaged, or common pieces you still see in chain stores, you might as well sell it for gold weight...and in that case watch the gold markets for a nice gold spike because gold is paid on closing price.
Also, look into some private jewelry stores. Sometimes they do consignment for a percentage and you could maximize your dollar out of that.
Hope that helps...

QUESTION:
Where can I sell gold and silver in Connecticut?
I have scarp gold and a silverware set I want to sell-
ANSWER:
Depending on the type of scrap gold (jewelry usually) you can sell it to an online refiner. You can use this tool for estimates: http://www.goldintomoney.com/calculatorFor the silverware set you might be better off selling that at a garage sale, but it depends on the quality. If it is an antique set try shopping it around to antique stores

QUESTION:
Where to Sell Gold Billiards & Coins in London?
I have a gold billiard (1 ounce, solid gold) and a coin (1/2 ounce, solid gold). I'm launching a business right now so it's probably the best use I will have for the gold and makes the most sense to sell it now to raise extra funds.Does anyone know Jewellers or traders or any place in London, that buys Gold billiards and gold coins and pays the market price (the actual Index price that gold is valued at on that day). I know the value changes a few times a day and I know there's companies who buy unwanted jewellery at rip off prices. I want to actually walk in to a building, hand the gold over and be given the real value of the gold... Is there Banks, Gold Dealers, Traders or Jewellers that pay the Market and Trading price, does anybody know where they are in London?
Any useful advice is appreciated,
Thank you

ANSWER:
Exchange of World of Warcraft Currency/Goods/Services for non-World of Warcraft Currency/Goods/Services, and Vice-Versa (Buying/Selling Gold, Items, Characters, and/or Accounts)Anyone offering World of Warcraft content for sale is attempting to steal from and deceive you, as no one is EVER allowed to sell any aspect of the World of Warcraft MMORPG except Blizzard and its licensees. Blizzard will not recognize the transaction resulting from the seller's prohibited behavior! Attempting to circumvent this rule by selling "the time put into the character" DOES NOT make such a sale legitimate, as the transaction still results in the transfer of World of Warcraft virtual property (which is acknowledged by every player as solely belonging to Blizzard Entertainment and/or its licensors) and in the seller receiving money.
CONSEQUENCES:
Any evidence uncovered by Support investigations that the account has been involved in the exploitation of the World of Warcraft Economy by purchasing currency, items, characters and/or accounts may result in:
•Removal of any World of Warcraft content that was purchased from anyone other than Blizzard Entertainment. Note that the sale of existing accounts, currency, items, and characters, or any aspect thereof, is not presently offered by Blizzard or its licensees, nor is the availability of such services foreseen.
•Immediate Account Closure of any account found to have been transferred from the registered user to anyone else. Blizzard Entertainment neither recognizes nor permits the transfer of accounts.

QUESTION:
Where can I sell gold in Manchester?
I have 10 grams of gold that I need to sell anywhere in Manchester, England. I'm keen to get close to the market value. Help me please.
Its actually 20 grams, not 10. Its a solid piece of pure gold from the mint in Perth, Australia.-
ANSWER:
You don't say in what form the gold is but if it is properly assayed then any reputable jeweller will give you a reasonable wholesale price for it - the market value is complex as it depends how the gold is presented and whether it needs smelting for further use - it is quite a small amount. If it is a coin or a ring then you should get more than its intrinsic value anyway.
